  1. "And now it's time for one last bow, like all your other selves. Eleven's hour is over now, the clock is striking Twelve's." If you don't know what that quote is from, watch Dr. Who, and don't blink.
  2. Gouda That was a cheesy attempt at randomness.
  3. This is why we can't have nice things.
  4. Stormgate

    Hoid!

That seems to be a popular role for him. I think that it's generally well known among those that have read the book where Hoid is. I, for one, caught the cameo.
  5. Perhaps a strong enough Enhancement metal burn could make the metals Allomantically react, although your example of steel is a good one. You are correct about iron in blood not floating around, I don't know exactly what compounds the iron is in, but it is in hemoglobin, if that helps.
  6. He has RAFOed it as the Shardpool's location.
  7. Or maybe instead of focusing on how kandra are inferior to Wayne, we should focus on how Wayne is superior to the kandra. Before, we may have been able to pass off his mimicry on natural talents people have, like opening doors with your feet (I have trouble with socks, though). But kandra are nigh-immortal beings with millennia of experience in mimicking voices, with the ability to change the makeup of their voicebox to facilitate easier mimicking, even. If such a creature is not as good as Wayne at mimicking voices, then it is likely supernatural. Maybe it's that elusive 'Twinborn effect' we know about.
  8. Using time magic, I grant you this wish by introducing you to this thread in the past. Your curse is that you wish for something that you already have, so you don't get anything else. I wish to be a master of AonDor with a wormhole to Elantris inside my back pocket, removing any distance limitations.
  9. This brings up something else. Why do Radiants not need a gemstone to bond their spren? I realize the spren are still alive, but that doesn't really explain it. The Parshendi PoVs in WoR indicate that the spren they use to change forms can be stored inside a gemstone, which is very similar to the standard Shardblade bonding method. All I can say in way of explanation is that Sanderson has RAFOed questions about Knights and Listeners having gemhearts.
  10. Doesn't Lopen say that he has two arms, but one just got lost?
  11. It could be that the only benefit is that you get a stronger Allomancer. Which, since it's nicrosil, makes that particular Twinborn boring, comparitively.
  12. What can be done with that Investiture? Could Knights Radiant inhale it? Is it what is contained in the dark gemstone? Is this what caused the Knights Radiant to fall? That escalated quickly.
  13. But is ice different enough from water to necessitate another gemstone? Ice forms crystals, after all, and it is somewhat difficult to tell just by looking at it, the difference between a solid block of ice and another crystal.
  14. The only thing I can think of is go to the Spiritual Realm and look at their Spiritweb. Which has its own issues.
  15. So, in Elantris, the use of modifiers is sited repeatedly, including modifiers allowing Aons to work as sort of a computer program that affects the world. However, there is a notable lack of modifiers in the Ars Arkenaum, which is most of what makes AonDor powerful. I would like to try to make these modifiers, and since I have nowhere to go for information, I would like any and all suggestions and tips for these modifiers. I currently have no information on them other than they exist, so anything would be a plus.
  16. The cookies are Hemalurgic spikes. Does the kitten have a Sanderson originated name (is it named Hoid, or Vin, or something)? Also, if you haven't noticed, Sanderson is much faster at writing books than other authors, so your problem with unfinished series is at least less of a problem. Also, have you looked at his short stories? He has some on his website, including some that are unpublished (I Hate Dragons is notably interesting.) Also, I just discovered I like the word 'also'!
  17. I am curious about how to rinse. What do you use?Book wise.
  18. Can we extend this to how metals in compounds react Allomanticaly? Like how Pushes and Pulls would work on rust, or if you could burn rust for the iron in it?
  19. Makes sense. You would probably be protected from the cost of storing, so storing health wouldn't cause you to spontaneously catch a cold (well, it might, but) and cause you to die from it. With an easier example, you wouldn't be able to store enough strength to make your body collapse under the weight of its own body, or your body would be supported.
  20. How would compounding Nicrosil work, given the amount of Investiture in the Cosmere is constant? Also, would someone be able to store innate investiture, like Breaths on Nalthis? (I know that you can probably store Breath, but what about other innate Investiture?
  21. Can I ask my question again, since it never got answered? If a Soulcaster (either fabrial or Surgebinder) were to Soulcast something into ice (normal frozen water), would they use a garnet for blood and non-oil liquids, or diamond for crystals?
  22. Perhaps it has to do with Roshar's focus. The Listeners primarily gain power from their songs, even being noted in their ability to keep perfect time with each other, even when they are out of earshot from each other. Not only that, but many cities in Roshar, as well as the Shattered Plains themselves, are based on cymatics, which basically involves shapes being formed by certain sounds. Then there are the mysterious Dawnsingers, as well as the Dawnchant. With all that, a creature that can sing a four-part harmony (should it so choose) doesn't seem as strange.
  23. I predict that we will decide that the answer is one of about 5 different theories, then Sanderson is going to show us a Nirosil Ferring and all our theories will be off.
  24. I believe we have WoB confirming that Shardblades are the default for the dead spren, and that Shardblades subtly change shape.
