  1. Thanks for the map! Wow... We have a lot of unexplored land. Also, challenge accepted:). You can see the basics of my rule-breaking in the main thread.Also...which region am I in, exactly? ChickenPlague might be the best to respond, but anyone can.
  2. Did you just put Brandon on the same level as Honor?
  3. Thank you for expressing the point I was going to make before I did! I completely agree, and think that Shardplate is solid Investiture, like atium. Random thought: what would burning a piece of Shardplate do?
  4. I don't really view Hemalurgic decay as really a problem. I think the Investiture returns to the Shard it originated from. That's just my two bits, take it with a pinch of copper as you will.
  5. Or perhaps she was as powerful as someone larger than her, which leads to interesting effects when compressed into a smaller frame. Picture Vin as sort of like a Mistborn Ant-man.
  6. You said short fan fiction could be around. So, I'm going to take a stab. Arem walked down the street, towards the place where the statues of Wisdom and Justice used to be, wondering what could have happened. *Help...us...* The thought came into his head. "What do you mean?" Arem asked. *We have been abandoned, for the hearts of men decided that wisdom and justice were contrary to their freedom.* "How could they possibly think that?" Area asked. *Justice punishes those that do wrong, providing restraint for those actions. Wisdom provides a knowledge of danger, discouraging them from harmful actions. Even now, Honor is in danger of falling.* As the statues spoke, an rumble shook the ground, and the bridge connecting the place of Honor cracked. "What can I do?" *You must convince the people what it means to have Liberty. Liberty is when you are free to walk the path of life, while you are informed about the pitfalls and the opportunities, and are prevented from preventing others from walking the same road.* "What is at the end of the road? And what's Anarchy?" *That which is at the end of the road depends on which steps you take. That is where hope comes into play. Hope is the anticipation of that which is unseen can be better than that which is. Anarchy* the statues mentally spat, *Disregards the path altogether, wandering here and there all over, still reaching a final destination, which can only bring sorrow.* "How do I do it?" Arem was overwhelmed. *Wisdom and Justice. The teacher and the punisher. We give you the power of both, to speak words that pierce the soul and move the heart, and to pass judgement on the wicked. Do not abuse either, else the power will be lost, and Honor perish with us.* The crumbling statues crumbled further, and their Islands drifted further away. Shaken, Arem got up. He walked away from the space where the statues used to sit Later, as Arem was eating some berries, which could be found in the clouds that gave them support, given time. He was walking down a different street, and saw a large boy beating a smaller one. Anger built within Arem. With a thought, the boy froze. Arem marched up. "Why were you beating this boy?" "He has a berry I want." The boy said. "And why were you beating him?" "Because I can." The larger boy said. "You will do this no longer." "Why not?" The boy said with a sneer. "I will teach you wisdom." Arem grabbed the boy's still-frozen arm. Bruises and cuts appeared on the bully's body, exactly where the younger boy had been hurt. "For a year, all injuries you do to others, or allow to be done to others, will be done to you as well as them." Arem decreed. He turned to the younger boy. "I can't heal your wounds, but I will help them heal by themselves, if you want." Arem reached out his hand. The young boy tentively grabbed it. They began walking towards Arem's home. Unseen, the statues of Justice and Wisdom grew, repairing a small bit of the damage done. And Anarchy turned a small bit around, her new name fading the tiniest bit. I'm not the best writer, but what does everyone think? I enjoy more philosophical plots.
  7. Basically, that in my area, white lumuoles can allow manipulation of other lumuoles. Also, I have the idea that in my area, there are no hotspots for lumuoles. Instead, a white plant grows that bears fruit that has lumuoles contained inside. Such easy access to lumuoles resulted in most of the wildlife not developing symbiotic relationships with the creatures, and the lumuoles in the fruit are different than those in other areas, causing strange abilities in the creatures.
  8. "You could say that Dmitri Mendeleev destroyed the world." This is the first line in the prologue of a sci-fi book I'm trying to write. Basically, the context is that by establishing the Periodic Table, Mendeleev opened the door to new elements being discovered, eventually resulting in the formation of an element that revolutionized the world. And then people weaponized it, and gained the power to end the world.
  9. But, since we aren't actually investigating the crime, we can focus more on the Realmatics of it.
  10. How do we know Heralds didn't have Shardplate?
  11. Autocorrect trying to turn Sanderson terms into something else is one of my peeves.
  12. Spoilers! (Look up 'Studio C spoilers' for reference). In all seriousness, I just joined Diaemus, and I am having a lot of ideas that will make my area either the most popular, or avoided by the rest of the planet.
  13. Interesting Shards Try Housing Idris' Shallow Finery In Newt-Energized Orange Rutabagas, Never Ordering Tamales. My name is that of an Epic, and so far, I have been negligibly evil. So, here's something to make up for that: SUPERCALIFRAGALISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS Have fun!
  14. When half of your open tabs are for various parts of the Shard. Bonus points if you permanently have Theoryland open. Also, how do you use sprenmoticons? You might spend too much time on the Shard if you can answer that question without looking up either sprenmoticons or how to put them into posts.
  15. For Twy: Nice links to a fanfic, and of course Twy's beloved Oregon RP, I rate those links 5/10. The quote from the Muppets rendition of A Christmas Carol is quite lovely, and cranks the signature up to a perfect ten. Honestly, the quote would get it up to a ten on its own.
  16. I don't know where it is or when he does it, but we have already seen Kaladin create Proto-Shardplate. When he has a lot of Stormlight, it says that frost crystallizes on his skin. This is completely unfounded except by my memory of the book, but I think Kaladin has already partially created Shardplate.
  17. Comparing Kaladin to Dalinar is like comparing a hammer to a screwdriver. They are both honorable, they both stand and fight for things that others don't care about, they simply fight different battles. Kaladin fights the battles of a soldier, of a sergeant, so to speak. Dalinar fights the battles of a politician and a general. Both would be extremely ineffective at filling the other's role, a hammer might, with creativity, be used as a screwdriver, and a screwdriver might be able to be used as a hammer. But there are tasks only a hammer can do, which, if a screwdriver were to be used, would seriously damage the screwdriver and may do more harm than good. I'm not saying a hammer or a screwdriver is better, but they are better in certain situations.
  18. Can I take the established rules for lumuoles and basically throw them out the window?
  19. I'm cool with both my curse and your suggestion about upvotes. You are the first beneficiary from the system. Ahem. You are now called a Pugbrother, rather than a Wolfbrother. I wish that Epics were real and did not kill me, at least not unless I do something to attack any Epic.
  20. Is there a map of Diaemus on the wiki, with the various regions outlined? I can't find one. Hi, Plague. I have some ideas for lumuoles that completely contradict just about everything I found on the wiki. I'm going to do my best to keep them contained, but feel free to incorporate them into your territory, should you so choose.
  21. Granted. You cannot understand any of the languages spoken. I wish for a twenty minute interview with Brandon, in which no RAFOS are allowed.
  22. Perhaps they go to the Spiritual Realm.
  23. You mean we don't all do that?
  24. Maybe Mare?
  25. There is also not being recognized by enemies. Rally speeches are good, too.
