First of all, the books do not follow a timeline like that. Basically, there are some epigraphs in the Stormlight Archive books that refer to Sel, the world Elantris is set on. Mistborn gives us the most answers regarding the Cosmere, but SA helps shine some light on Splintering. There is an unpublished book White Sands that Sanderson will e-mail you if you e-mail him, as well. He also has a collection of short stories, many of which can be found on his website. Also, may I suggest Steelheart? It is NOT Cosmere, but it is still quite good.

Your theory is flawed, but I can't tell how. I do think that in the book, it mentions Shashara being killed by Nightblood and Vasher, and Vasher was the only other person who has any connection to Nightblood's creation. Divine Breath is different from normal Breath because Divine Breaths are basically Splinters that, as far as we know, are not sentient. I'm not saying Endowment has been Splintered, after all, there were Radiantspren before Honor was Splintered.
