@Calderis made already a good point but also Pattern lists the Stormfather as a survivor of the Recreance. If he was never bonded he would not be a Survivor or anything. There is also the Listener's attitude, he (as Rider of the Storm) is one of the Spren who betrayed them giving his Surges to the Humans
-
I always assumed the Diagram kept some Information about the Death Rattles...enough to make Mr.T willing to implement them as a secondary guides.
-
The Stormfather is far older than the Shattered Plans in his original status and probably far younger as a composite entity.
-
Well Vin and Kel are used to be physical enhanced with a more complete manovrability (thanks to Iron). Probably Wax is less penalized then they
-
Wax is more a Savant than Kelsier, simply Brandon changed how the Savantism works. Anyway I am unsure about your statement on Wax and separate steel lines....We saw Wax did this as a child, (BoM's prologue) so It's not something he can't do.
-
If we are talking of A-Steel's skill alone, probably Wax will be above both of them. His skill with that power is cultivated in many many years, both Vin and Kel had a relative short amount of time as Allomancers. Wax's allomancy is also a bit different as his Savantism makes him able to performe feats regular allomancer could not even imagine regardless of the amount of skill they have. Lastly he lives in a context where the limits of his own power are well know and it's stricly more aware of the risks he could meet

I disagree, IF the Rider, NW and other are/was Adonalsium's Spren, injecting them with Shard's Investiture will not replace the inherit Investiture they already possess. So unless H&C pumped in them a lot more of Investiture than the One they already had...they will still be Adonalsium's Investiture mainly. Anyway Honor seems to imply the Dawnshards' loss is something relative that sadly happened if he was the cause (together with Cultivation)...I believe we will not see that kind of attitude from him. Lastly, I didn't want to claim the idea. I was Just clarity that I agree with the general idea behind but not with the Dawnshards'Identity
-
And with one of the two as magnitude of power above the other...it would be a really short cohexistence

The Heralds are Cognitive Shadows, merelly kill their temp body is not the end for them, they "died" many times....By the way, our meaning of "dead" is probably wrong in the Cosmere's context. Does it really matter if the heart of someone is working while you could chat and joke with him ?

I read it as Dalinar doesn't really put effort to understand Taln while Shallan is a vastly greater listener and she was really interested in Taln. But Taln is using some magical way to speak Alethi so it's possible something while Dalinar was there was messing with this (maybe Dalinar himself). Of course it's possible there is an error, but I find unlikely as the Taln's scenes are quite important for foreshadowing stuffs

Well yeah the ramifications will be deeply and probably mostly not fully predictable. We don't know what a Unmade's bond will do at all so it's hard to say what would happen in an hybrid case...Probably the Radiant would lose his resonance for the amount of powers hold or in the best case he would develop a new resonance instead of the previous
-
In theory you could be bound to multiple Spren at the same time. Pratically it's something the Spren would not like, bonding a Voidspren and a Radiantspren would be probably see as an abomination by the Spren himself. The Midnight Mother tried to remove Pattern from Shallan's Soul and stick herself instead...To me this would never work but the Unmade tried, probably more to remove Pattern than else
-
Also if I agree with the Rider of the Storm and the NW as Adonalsium's Splinter (I believe to be the one who proposed here on the forum) and the Bondsmiths bond with them as RadiantSpren. I disagree with them as "the Dawnshard" because Honor say the Dawnshards are lost or useless (I think the right wording is "but now without the Dawnshards....") and at least 2 Dawnshards (Rider of the Storm and Nightwatcher) are fine and ready to fight

I don't know if ALL of them are at ground level

How the Heralds’ Torture Holds Back Desolation
Yata replied to Confused's topic in Stormlight Archive
The main issues with this is the actual Heralds' claffication. By Brandon they are Cognitive Shadows and also if spren and CS are similar in concept (they are Sentient Living Investiture) they have two different origins, the CS are mortal based while the spren began their existence as Spren. Another problem is with the Heralds' blood relationship. Shalash is the actual Jezrien's daugther and this isn't possible with Spren. Lastly, we have an unclear reference to a life before be Heralds in tWoK's prologue. Kalak think of Jezrien as a man that used to be a king. But this one is really debatable as proof of something.- 1 reply

Actually the three prevalent monotheistic religions are ok with those stuffs. Are the people who over the time decided that God's Word has to be mitigated. Now I don't know what your religion is, but both the Bible and the Koran are fine with slavery and murder for honor (with the causes of "for honor" change between the text) and they are ok in killing a raped girl just because it was raped. Now I don't want to criticate the religions as this is not the rightful topic to talk about this kind of things. But your actually moral code is build by people who read your "holy text of reference" and decided that "x is ok, y is not, z is a mostrousity, w is not in the text but if I read this paragrapher I could make it fit with my line of thoughts"....your moral is man made not divine made.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but where are all the Shardblades?
Yata replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
Actually we don't know how old is the actual Skybreaker's organization. I had the feel it was recently re-founded but of course I could be wrong. Regardless they could have some Blade/Plate but I don't think they managed to get the main part. Honestly this is an option I complete ignored and also if I am not sure about the likeliness....I like it a lot. I mostly agree, Mr.T could have figuret the location but the main problem is still how recent this discovery is. Unless the Blades/Plates were left untouched for centuries...Mr.T also knowing where they are, will be uncapable to stole them from their actual keepers- 49 replies

How does Shardplate work for Surgebinders?
Yata replied to TheDoomsday's topic in Stormlight Archive
Kaladin re-swear his Oaths too. And Shallan's bond really deteriorates but It was never broken. Years passed and Pattern flee in the CR to avoid the Death, but he never released the Bond. Probably a good analogy is with a critical clean wound (Kal's Oathbreaking) with a moderate unclear wound ignored and infected (Shallan's ignored Bond) -
Maybe this is a dumb question, but where are all the Shardblades?
Yata replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
About the Bond with touch or the "not vanish"? Anyway are both by WoB. we know everything you Need to gain the Honorblades' Surgebinding is to have contact with them (physically or if not summoned, whatever they are kept). And another WoB explains some mechanic differences between the Sprenblade and Honorblades. An Honorblade has to be' explicity dismissed by his holder while the Sprenblade works in the opposite way. For example, if someone made Szeth faint while he was fighting with the Honorblade...The Blade will remain summoned- 49 replies

How does Shardplate work for Surgebinders?
Yata replied to TheDoomsday's topic in Stormlight Archive
Shallan had at least the third Oaths as child but then She Almost killed Pattern and when in the current Story She call him again, She starts again from scratch. In WoK and WoR She reaches again the 4 Oaths with "I am scared", "I killed x" and "I killed Y" Truths -
Simply as other said, Rosharan's terminlogy is a bit wrong. Honorblades, Nightblood and Radiants' Blades are all' Shardblades in Cosmere's terminology. And It's possibile there are other objects in other Shardworlds that could be count as such. For example on Scadrial we have an iterm starting to ho near to the Shardblade's tier. It's the reason here on the 17s we started to call them Sprenblade and Dead Sprenblade to make a distinction as Shardblade is too general as category

As @amflare said in the previous post, influence is a thing and by the way it's just comunication and another is control. The Mind control in the Cosmere is extremely hard to obtain, I believe we have only two instances (one in Mistborn and the other in Stormlight Archive) because the prerequisites required. There is a WoB about, that explain better the "backdoor" need but you could find an explicit in-book example in SoS's ending and others in BoM. I will avoid to write the specific events because I don't know if you read them, but it's fairly implied that a being without the right number of spike can't be controlled even by Shards (by the way also the first Mistborn's trilogy is a good example of this, but less explicit)
-
Like Kurkistan said, Hoid is quite 10000 years old. He is old also for the worldhoppers' prospective. The only people confirmed to be on the same Hoid's age class are the Cultivation and Odium's Vessels in the current Great Roshar System (there would be also Honor's Vessel, but Tanavast is dead so...)
-
No, this can't happen. Mind Control in the Cosmere requires to use a "backdoor" to the guy, Hemalurgy provides this backdoor if the guy is spiked enough but by default a being could not control someone only because he is broken. As example, notice how even a Shard can't directly control someone without Spikes.

Sure, just I can't read it now, I saw it is quite long and I am at work. I will read it as soon as I can
