  1. Actually the Oathpact was not so bad. Ten people offered themself to seal the Fused forever from returning. The Torture and breaking are not part of the Oathpact, they come to be only for an Honor's error. He didn't considerate that mortals could undo their oaths and therefore they could be bent to allow the Fused to return. When the Heralds got the job, their sacrifice will save Roshar forever by the Fused, the Desolations are simply a product of a faulty plan. About the Cultivation's interference is actually possible BUT unlikely to go unnoticed. Honor was alive back then and we know the Heralds' left was a tangential factor to his death but still a factor
  2. This hypotetical sentient/sapient planet would be not too dissimilar from an awakened object and an Ascended Awakened Object was already be RAFOed before (at least I remember that question in regard of Nightblood)
  3. I am not sure about your doubt. The Everstorm was initially summoned into the Shattered Plains (like you said) and it keeps going to east. it soon passed over the little of Roshar's continent remains and it pass all the Ocean to reach after X time Amia (extreme East). About book 3, Kal reaches Urithuru surfing on an Highstorm from Alethkar and it's right as Urithuru is mostly in the Roshar's center and Alethkar is in the East side. So Kal is moving from east to west
  4. An Head crush blow will kill a Radiant, so the Plate's helm is the key of a Radiant's survival. Like I said before there are a lot of variable in this battle. The kind of Radiant will change drastically the fight, some are quite useless in this fight while other could be great matches for Mistborn's abilities. In the end the Radiants are more specializated in a little number of tasks while the Mistborn have a wider array of option but almost none of them is gamebreaking alone.
  5. I believe the only reason for Dalinar to be exposed to the Thrill is for his past history. He is so Connected with Nergaul to be able to feel the Thrill regardless of Honor's influence
  6. Nightblood doesn't leave a body. A single Scratch and the physical is completelly annihilated in black flames and nothing remains
  7. Relevant WoB: I think that's hilarious. I've been meaning to ask a similar question for a few days now, I am glad someone else did and you replied. Bavadin is now instantly super interesting to me! Brandon Sanderson Bavadin is awesome. One regret of finally moving on from White Sand (and doing the graphic novel, instead of doing an entire trilogy myself) is because I won't get to show her off as a character for a while. It should still happen, mind you, but I have enough on my plate right now that I just can't do it all. Argent Eh, it's alright. The more we wait to see her, the more practice writing you will have when you do write her, and the more awesome she will be to us Are we going to see her in White Sand first though, or elsewhere? I've also been talking with a couple of friends about Ambition, who happens to be a Shard I love unconditionally just because of his?her? mandate. So I should ask - how tight-lipped do you intend to be with information about it? Can we prod for a little bit of trivia, or is it too early for that? Brandon Sanderson I'm going to be pretty tight-lipped for now. Let's at least let White Sand finish first--you will find her in there, though her touch on the story (directly) is light. She prefers to allow her personas to become the focus of attention.
  8. True but this is how the Mistborn are trained and where their abilities reaches their peak. True to an extent (well Radiants are not really stealty) but for example a Mistborn will catch them both as they will ping his Bronze-sense well before the enemies are at reach. True if you consider the Plate as it will boost the Interference but false if you assume the simple "I am invested" as nobody reacts differently to Emotional Allomancy while they are burning metal (unless it's copper but this is another kind of situation). Yeah she could but it's harder than what we saw in OB's ending. I agree the Soulcasting is a huge and variegated magic but it's not allmighty. it tooks a lot of Stormlight to each use and every coverage hides the mistborn too. I don't know if the Plate is so malleable but for the argument we will assume it could performe this. This prevent the one shot (unless something really terrible happens) but the Plate could be shattered with mundane ways (not so unlikely for someone with a Coin-gatling or with meele hits comparable to a Shardbearer's ones) and with Chromium who could mess with the Plate to a degree. Indeed I see no way for a Mistborn to drain stormlight from distance of his own, sure you could use one of the Ettmetal Grenade but I assume it wasn't his strategy. I am a bit curious
  9. This is the indirect use I talked about and remember what we saw Jasnah did is beyond the standard usage. She were overcharged of Stormlight and the Realms were blured. Under standard conditions she will be unable to performe something like that fast and in a reliable way. Of course if we considerate the Mistborns as opponest. They are high mobile warriors with a stealty approch and long range attacks. Unluckly for any kind of enemy. The Mistborn have a really wide array of options to use in battle and those option give an edge in almost every situation if the Mistborn himself knows how to use them
  10. Odium is now bound to the Champions' contest and Dalinar could start this simply meeting with him. So Odium can't meet Dalinar and therefore everyplace Dalinar is, is immune to Odium's direct influence and this include the Visions too. I would really like if the Stormfather's bond allows Dalinar to extend his "immunity" to the Spren and therefore deny Odium from messing with the Highstorms and the places where the Hightstorms are
  11. You have to considerate that Lightweaving is useless aganist a Mistborn and Soulcasting is really hard to affect them. Under standard circumstances a Mistborn is immune to Soulcasting (but it could be used indirectly on them). Many Surges could become really strong or useless aganist a Mistborn so the Order changes a lot. Of course also a Surgeless Radiant will be still a Full Shardbearer with Stormlight's powerup
  12. @Lyncias the idea is interesting also if unlikely. By the way, probably they will need Cadmius instead of Bendalloy
  13. Honestly I could see Adolin as Edgedancer/Stonewarder/Duskbringer (the last two as hypotesis as we don't know yet the Orders' mantra) and I believe many people set the Order's requirement too high. Not every Windrunner need to be so zehalous as Kaladin or not every Skybreaker has to be a Justice Machine like Nale. You could be choosen as Radiant if you show the right qualities but the Spren can't know how far this qualities will make you progress. Many Radiants of the past never achieved the superior Oaths but there were still choosen by the Spren. My previous replies were not to deny an Adolin Stonewarden. But just to correct some wrong assumption the OP was making. About what I really want from Adolin, I want him to not revive Maya, not fully. And be an anomalous Shardbearer. Like, summon the Blade faster and maybe twist her a bit but not proper Surgebinding from him. This for a mere narrative's prospective and both because reviving a Blade is hard (also if the Edgedancer's ones are the easier to resurrect in my opinion). He would be probably choosen to be an Edgedancer if a Cultivationspren notice him but reviving Maya is magnitudes beyond that. In my opinion you will Need a great Radiant Knight to do It not only someone who Will be an "ok Radiant Knight". To say a Kaladin Who is the living embodyment of Protection could be able to revive an Honorspren (Syl doesn't count as He killed her and therefore was able to resurrect her Easy) but a Lopen or Teft would be unable also if they are elegible as Windrunner
  14. Probably on First of the Sun, there are only Splinters of a Shard rather than the actual Shard itself
  15. Full Feruchemist, the Feruchemy is my favorite magic System
  16. It's a Cosmere Wide stuff. The Investiture need cracks in the Soul to enter and this cracks are caused by Spiritual shock. How those cracks come to be' is meaningless. In theory (also of I assume nobody on Roshar knows) your Soul could be cracked by positive emotions too...It's Just extremely unlikely for that to happen. You asked me a proof and in the Stormlight Archive It's hard to find a proper One (also because we have still a Little Radiant sample test) but for example. Ym was elegible for both Edgedancer and Truthwatcher's bonds. If the nature of the cracks is indicative of the order...that can't be' possible. Or Lopen is a Windrunner but nothing in his Story (that we don't know too completely) is about protect the others. And probably the whole "losing an arm" is what he broke him. Yeah I read It, and how do this fit with the topic? Everything has three aspects a body, a mind and a soul. But a Spren is not simply a mind. Is living Investiture...what we call Splinter. An object's mind is Just what the others think the object is. It's like...a reflessive Cognitive. You make a chair and over time the wood's cognitive Will start to view itself like a chair rather than a tree. A Spren could be' Influenced by the collettive minds but It's an indipendent being, It's a bunch of Power that is sentient to a degree. The Rosharan will call everything "Spren" a Splinter, a Shard, Adonalsium himself (like they call Every Bird "chicken"). But you are talking of something specific. You are talking of a (Broken) Sapient Splinter of (Honor &) Cultivation.
  17. Surelly there are not a 100% proof that Timbre is Ico's daugher (also if their family's history and Ico's speak about his daugher following impossibile Dreams are at least likely clues). But Timbre is for sure a Radiant Spren for multiple reasons: - She grants Surgebinding - She required Venli to Spoke the Ideal to gain the magic - Venli (that can comunicate with her and understand the actual Words rather than the rythms) explicity says that "your People's live" that implies Venli and Timbre's people are not the same. If we want to push this thing a bit more: - Reaches (or Lightspren) are known to be' able to comunicate with each other thanks to vibrazione/pulses. It fits well with Timbre's comunication. Much more remember the Spren doesn't actual know the languages. They are "traslated" to the proper language. It's not hard to think that Venli hears Timbre as Rhytms because as Singer. The Rhytms are the way her people comunicate emotions. - Lightspren's attitude fits with Eshonai's One and as Timbre is saw with her before die. It's High likely She attracted a Lightspren with her attitude....before the stuffs became Voidish
  18. I will not argue aganist the possibility of a Stonewarden Adolin as It's possible also if I believe you discarded too fast the Edgedancer's links to Adolin. I wanted Just to correct a couple of errors you made in the OP. Firstly, what It broke a man has not to be' linked to the Order he would join. It's not "someone care to me was killed so i could become a Windrunner". The Brokeness is Just a Nahel Bond's requirement. But once you are, you are elegible for all' 10 orders (regard your attitude). Secondly there is no Spren's change involved in Soulcasting. Objects have no Spren (whatever the Rosharans believe) but only a Cognitive Aspect and those are different stuffs. A Spren doesn't change its type alone. Also the taker of secret's victims are still the same kind of spren as before. They Simply are Influenced/alligned more from Odium now. But their type remains. For Maya, to become a Stonewarden's Spren from a Cultivationspren... It's mostly impossible
  19. I suspected of her when we got the Soulcaster's scene. I had my confirmation with the "Black and White" quote
  20. @Weltall maybe I remember wrong, but having the right to Travel have to be' rare among the Darkeyes as the required Nahn is expansive. In Hearthstone Kaladin's family will be' the only one with the right status to freely leave. Of course you could be' sent by a lighteyes or simply wander without illegal. Edit: I checked on coppermind and the stuff seems confused
  21. This is mostly in line with my idea of Fortune. I saw it as a Spiritual Intuite. An unconscious sense that allow everyone to feel the possibilities from the Spiritual Realms and of course as the most of the people are not masochistic, they unconscious choose the best actions they could feel....This translate the unconscious Future Sight with a mundane Luck.
  22. Well we don't know at all what burning Spikes does. Assuming that burning them gift the same effect of having them Hemalurgical implanted (and I am not too found in this). Yes, you could use that guy's Metalminds, I am unsure about the Shardblade's part. I could see some pro and contros to this hypotesis
  23. The Dragonsteel exibits some physical features the Alluminium has not. I don't want to go into the spoiler side of the Force. But I find Almost Impossible the Dragonsteel=Alluminium
  24. A Fused is a Cognitive Shadow. This means She was a living people at One time. Hoid probably danced with her before the whole Voidbringer stuff happened
  25. She could, Simply She didn't want to, as Kel carries with himself a piece of Ruin and It will be' like a signal for Ruin to follow. Moving a Cognitive Entity from his homeland requires hacks but i assume Khriss knows those
