  1. All we really need to argue about now is whether or not a single dura-pewter punch would kill a shardbearer cause I havent seen that discussion yet.
  2. I took it more in terms of a water fight, people on scadrial have super soakers and everyone else has a bucket, heaps more water but not necessarily better in a fight.
  3. I dont have a source but I definitely remember reading that scadralese magic uses much less investure, but I dont think that makes it less powerful in a combat sense, I think a thug would be stronger than a monk, the monks are shown as slightly stronger and with their whole body as a weapon, I think a thug would be a fair fight a full mistborn would then most likely win.
  4. Im with kurkistan and reader, Endowment gives the divine breath, not everyone has one of those, I think every normal breat his a part of the initial owners soul.
  5. Again Elantrians weren't everyone. I'm pretty sure everyone has a breath or breath equivalent but only Nalthians can give it away. However I cannot remember if that is word of Brando nor just the conclusion of earlier discussions on this topic.
  6. Yeah you'd think the voidbringer on the wall is cool, but the first time you see it there when you get up for midnight snack you'll wet your pants for sure.
  7. I dont think anyone has made that connection yet, but potentially yes, it might take horrendous amounts of stormlight to achieve though
  8. When I said that the archers would take time to show up I meant it takes them time to get around behind Szeth, they dont have it I honestly think the only way to stop Szeth is financially impossible numbers of halfshard tower shields for all your guards and charge him pin him and go to town with shortswords Ronan style and I reckon thats only about a 40% chance of working
  9. No we have word of brandon that Preservation swapped out two metals for atium and another one to maintain the pattern, since they couldnt make them anyway I think it was cadmium and bendalloy.
  10. It makes sense and is pretty much what I assumed when I read that.
  11. The problem with this is that Szeth is very capable of cutting through your swordsmen while your archers are running into surprise him and then your screwed he will also be in the middle of a crowd which means most of your shots will miss and every miss will hit one of your soldiers which will prove fatal to them, if the projectile doesnt kill them, Szeth will use the distraction
  12. His personal code does but his masters orders supersede that, also he can very easily and in fact at one point does sneak into a house by flying in and floating away a piece of the roof, he can do that to the kings bed chamber and have a successful kill before the alarm is raised. To stop Szeth assassinating someone is impossible, he can kill anyone he likes as long as he is willing to die himself, which he is. Stopping him from getting out alive is more plausible but still hard.
  13. We also know that shard blades impact on sDNA because they can be hemalurigically stolen. That was in oen of the other questions.
  14. Yeah but fair fights are over rated. No matter how gpod you are a fair fight always has an element of chance that could make you lose, so they should be avoided at all costs
  15. Disagree depending on the relative strengths of investiture neither would destroy the other, and nightbloods user would win due to it making its users super swordsman and the lack of skill entailed in using a shardblade compared to a normal sword
  16. What if honour blades are included, then we've seen classic 6 foot shard blades Szeth's weird little one and Taln's honour blade all in detail in the main narative.
  17. So the issue went away and I forgot about it but yes at the time I couldnt even tell oifthis topic had posted or read it.
  18. Well THIS is the thread I mentioned before where it was discussed. Basically based on that discussion and some further thought what I currently think on the nature of awakening is that much like the life sense the ease of awakening is a gradual increase, and so when at the 6th heightening you get instinctive basic commands thats just a culmination of awakening getting gradually easier and similarly at the 8th, 9th and 10th heightenings you get more stages (command breaking, audible command, and silent awakening) are milestones not discrete steps. They don't actually mark a change in the process, ie; a silent command for an object that you aren't touching is exactly the same as a spoken command for an object you are, regardless of the number of breaths you might have. Therefore, a command needs only to be a thought, but people who don't have sufficient power need to do things to reinforce that thought. Thus, only being able to awaken in your native language as is discussed in the other thread, needing to touch the object, as an aid to focus and a thought reinforcement rather than an integral part of the process. In terms of your theory, if you have enough spiritual power you can just blast through and get the desired effect with limited cognitive direction, but with less breath the cognitive reinforcement of saying the command in the same language you think in and touching the object and using a specific command to do a specific task because you know it works is required you need to aim very precisely. That doesn't really enter into your theory though, just your description of how it applies to awakening, in short, the visualisation is the command, but for less powerful awakeners they require aids to cognitive power.
  19. I thought he said something like the Nahel Bond is no proof of... ... Not all spren are as discerning as honourspren. Im almost certain I remember something about the discernment of spren somewhere in the book and no one else was in a position to say that. Id find the quote and check but I dont have the book handy
  20. An idea for discussion I have no idea if it holds any weight, breaths dont have a cognitive aspect but because everything in the cosmere has 3 aspects when you super charge somethings spiritual aspect like that it spontaneously enhances the cognitive too, this doesnt affect people since they already have a coherent fully developed cognitive aspect... I'll sort of trail off there and leave further thought to others who have time
  21. My thinking on breaths were that they were sort of like batteries or conduits for spiritual power more breaths and your body can draw more power through the spiritual realm causing all of the benefits we see and being a drab is just the end result of that you still have a spiritual aspect but its so starved for power that not everything works properly. Another awakening problem however, the 10th heightening includes awakening with mental commands. Thats what makes it possible for the God-King to pass on his breaths. The way it was explained last time I saw it come up was that the spoken command was never necessary but you needed a thought feedback/reinforcement loop caused by speaking until you were sufficiently powerful... I should just link to it but Im on my phone so some one else should, I think it can still fit your theory
  22. The problem the feruchemical life storer has is that they have no understanding of how to fight, with or without all the powers, they've spent their entire life stupid blind deaf... A super mistborn is also a highly trained and experienced warrior and that makes a huge difference, add in the fact that if this is at the extremes of power the mistborn has atium and they almost definitely kill the feruchemist as quickly as they can inflict more damage than the feruchemist can heal. The hemalirgist is still ridiculously over powered and unlessbtheybare truly incompetent wins effortlessly,
  23. That quote from the 1st page said that drawing on the power of creation caused ripples... the reason feruchemy is not normally detected is because it doesn't use a lot of the power of creation, it only really draws on the person using it, but requires a small amount of the power of creation to work in some way so you need a very powerful seeker to sense it because there is very little power being drawn on and thus very small ripples. Also I don't think that all magic is wave like, I think that all magic causes waves that can be detected if you have the right ability. (Bronze burning, potentially other magics we don't know about yet)
  24. Want topic. ... Ok thinking again, I was a little overwhelmed for a second there, but I think that is a surprisingly coherent theory considering everything we don't know, we need a full topic to discuss it, maybe more... wow, so I'm actually not back on topic at all, you should make a topic of that Theory Kurkistan, and I'll just leave before I do any more off topic rambling about nothing.
