  1. I've been getting a database error that stops me going into topics I can view the forums or sub forums but if I try and get into an actual topic it says there is an error with the database. It says if the problem persists an admin may have to fix it so now you know. I haven't had a chance to check if its just on my phone or if I get similar problems on my laptop
  2. I actually think a steel compounder would be up there with the best always in position for the perfect shot, pushing on bullets for higher powered shots
  3. I think it would just be a blur inside the bubble as the people inside moved through the expanded timeline but the shadow would return to normal as they left the bubble *this assumes the seer is outside the bubble, inside the bubble is too boring to bother explaining when typing on my phone.
  4. No I dont think he couldnt push the mists further they were literally preservation, he could drag them out and make them hang around so that the plants died form a lack of sunlight, that would actually kill far more than just pushing harder at those with allomantic potential, but I dont see how he could make them push harder without completely taking over preservation
  5. Was actually unsure of how to spell and after initially favouring aluminum decided on aluminium before various american sources got it wrong scienceblogs.com/worldsfair/2009/04/08/aluminum-versus-aluminium-wher/
  6. I dont have the understanding of the physics to comment on the first theory but based on my limited knowledge of engineering the 2nd is plausible certainly more so than your first theory of no deformation at all.
  7. That quote says death to the plants, by thickening the mists and making them linger nothing about the people who died I still say the people who died were the people who chose not to preserve their life, they were killed because they didnt snap.
  8. I refuse its aluminium and always will be. True about the colour but I think its consumed the same way that metal is consumed by allomancy it doesn't make sense to me any other way I can think of.
  9. I'm from Australia and I don't bow to the whims of American English you too should spell things correctly. Sometimes when it isn't too much effort. More on topic I like this line of thought as has already been commented the Aons are similar and are actually described in the novel explicitly as a sort of gateway to power and I'm pretty sure in BioChroma the power doesn't come from the breaths because they aren't consumed and Brandon normally stays somewhat close to the laws of physics
  10. Thats very true, I've seen it suggested that maybe Taravangian is the leader of the ghostbloods, whether openly (sort of, as open as you can be in a secret organisation) or secretly, and I think this point is one of the major arguments for that sort of suggestion. A lot of what the ghostbloods do seems to be designed to cause the same sort of chaos and destruction as Taravangian uses Szeth to achieve, but on a much slower more subtle way, what if Taravangian uses Szeth as a weapon of opportunity to speed up the process he was already working on achieving through the ghostbloods.
  11. I dont think Odium is mad the word odium means a very cold logical hatred, very neutral evil rather than chaotic evil or in less nerdy terms Odium is more like Bane rather than the Joker but thats still pretty broken, and I dont think a crazy person could achieve what Odium has
  12. We also dont see Kaladin talking to Syl around random strangers, its been a while since I read WoK but if I remember correctly even most of the bridge crew dont learn about Syl its entirely possible that people just dont converse with their spren around strangers.
  13. It makes sense to me but Im already familiar with realmatics, how far away is he rest of the theory I'm intrigued.
  14. Imperfect in-world knowledge is quite common in Brandons work he doesnt have to know he is a void bringer to be one, equally maybe that is true at higher levels like kalladin is a level 2 radiant maybe szeth is level 1 and at level 5 he can hold stormlight perfectly and his knowledge is incomplete rather than wrong. That said I dont sure I think Szeth is a voidbringer but I couldnt really justify that and may change my mind at any point
  15. Its based on future sight the way Vin splits her shadow is by moving fast enough to gain future sight by reading her opponents atium assisted block and changing her move the reason atium gives multiple shadows is that both parties have future sight and adjust their reactions according to each possibility thus making new possibilities and new adjusted reactions. I think a more likely method for a feruchemist to beat atium is steel a skilled fighter could read their opponent like vin did and the speed burst of steel would give them time to respond and adjust their move. At least as far as I understand it, also I apologise for the terribleness of this post it came from my phone
  16. My gut feeling would be that he noticed physical properties that were in some fashion similar to those of other allomantic metals be that specific properties or its similarities/differences to aluminium. However I have no justificstion for that other than the logistics of it, there werent that many mistborn around for one to be acting as a secret metal tester
  17. Im pretty sure atium doesnt compel action it just enhances your mental capacity to let you act, you still have to actually do it.
  18. I think the 10 refers to surges thst seems almost a given the 30 I suspect is Radiant void-binding and whatever Szeth is doing which I suspect is not voidbinding or perhaps fabrials if he is void binding.
  19. For a person to snap they have to see death and choose to preserve themselves. I dont have the quote but Brandon has said that almost word for word, so I dont think the sickness needed any help killing people any one not determined enough to preserve themselves would die. Also in the epigraphs it says that there were mistings before TLR and that the original HOA (forgot his name) was a seeker the mist was killing people then too in order to snap them but they were just starting to exist so no one knew what was going on or had any metals to burn other than trace amounts subconsciously like Vin at the start of MB
  20. Yeah, Kelsiers solo attack on the guards would have had him clear of Vin's coppercloud I suspect and would have been very noisy, they might have been detected then and they almost definitely would have been heard then. That the Inquisitors knew they were coming then is hardly unbelievable even if their clouds do stack.
  21. I suspect it results in perfect recall like you say, but doesn't drive you crazy, instead you would turn into a savant and the modifications that causes would allow you to retain your sanity (although people would think you weird I suspect).
  22. Actually somewhat counter intuitively as far as I know the best way to ride out a high storm would be to punch into it. reef sails, out oars and row into the storm, most ships have more reserve buoyancy towards the bow, so they need to point towards the storm to get over the waves. *Naval Architecture student moment over*
  23. Because its easier to keep everyone believing than most people believing, Jasnah by being succesful and atheist makes atheism ok, thats worse than thinking God is dead for a religious order.
  24. Welcome to the boards and let me say that as someone living in the southern hemisphere I am immensely jealous of your summer. What Im not jealous of is your exposure to the admins they'll spike you if you arent careful, watch out the waffles or the cookies or what ever they give out these days, they have spikes in them... as a rule assume everything has spikes you'll last longer. But the spikes really just add to the fun.
  25. Yeah that seems to be the most logical solution for the facts as we know them
