Soulcasters and creating power catalysts

Shallan trades her necklace for her brother, and it's described as 'aluminium, must be soulcast'. So, you can create not only allomantic metalls, but even aluminum, which is strange. -
I think I see one thing that bothered me a bit. Typical Sanderson books don't tell you only what's happening, but also a part of what's going on (exactly to the point where plot twists don't feel like deux-ex-machina). Somehow, the part of "what's going on" either missed completely or at least came way too short. I give it a "discount" because it's the first part of a trilogy, but it's still Sandersonesque to give some explanations.

I'll say the shardpool/perpendicularity is on the point next to the sun; and this point seems for me to be the big mountain in the southern Kerla. BTW: Is the shadow of this mountain what makes Lossland so green? If yes, then the sun must hang very, very low

She seems to hold a teddy, too. Pretty sure that there aren't any bears at least on dayside.

But really, who in all Damnation, honestly, walks into a tent near a battlefield with a supposedly dead perosn inside after a bad day with half your expedition, guide included, killed and with almost no water in a way I would expect from models on the catwalk during a Fashion Week in Paris? That just seems kind of wrong.

Exactly.

On page 38 Elodin calls Traiben Elodin, at least it looks so for me.

Does anybody else think that Khriss stepped on the scenery a bit Hollywod-escly? Especially reminded me of Julia Roberts.
-
Hm, damnation. Guess that I didn't saw the guy in the alley as Aarik comes ftrom the fact that I could easily differentiate only Khriss, everybody else was drawn a bit too uniformous. How the actual Sands were you supposed to distinguish between sandmasters in full costume with shaven heads? But otherwise? The guy seemed to bear himself exactly in Hoid's manner. If Hoid has a manner, at least. Manners he has not. The machinery looks suspiciously like radios. But there shouldn't be radios, should them?

I just say: "I'm a strong proponent of humiliating Trackts and others in authority, but killing them is a bit extreme"

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

Well, elantrians used Aon Ehe (fire) to mark dangers. The "lightweaver shash" is associated with the sixth essence - blood. Probably the "dangerous shash" comes from this direction "this man will likely shed blood". But otherwise...thge glyphs don't even look similar to each other. -
Where is the magic theory? I enjoy Sanderson partly because of the magic systems - here we didn't even got an Ars Arcanum. The on-the-run explanations came a bit short. Otherwise - not a bad job, considering everything; but in it's current state not my favorite Sanderson by far. Probably I'll like it more in parts 2 and 3.

Or it would be considered part of the masculine arts like sailing, fishing, fighting etc.Or it won't be considered an art on it's own, like eating. Therefore there must be a clear men/women pool separation. They could be even in one hall, but they should not mix. The women's pool would be also a considerable bit warmer, because of Vorinist reasons. -

Would swimming be even considered a feminine art? It involves both hands. Also, I would say that the other parts woul be more revealing; Vorinists don't care much about knees. -
Well... Bloom for Kelsier. Fits somehow. Watson for Shan Elariel. Only role where glamour is required. Roberts for...damnation... er, Tindwyl, maybe? Schwarzenegger fits Ham.Somehow. And Betanny for Demoux. Somehow their faces seem to fit. Okay, let's say Warbreaker. You get: - Gene Kelly - Charlie Chaplin (in Black and white, mind you!) - Depradieu - Elisabeth Taylor - Richard Burton

Often awkward yet somehow cute? Books are like clocks.

Wars would be fought along the lines of "Honorsworn" and "Harmonists". I'm not that optimistic that people would stop to go to war. Except, probably, short after release dates. -
Also, steel is perfect in combination with tensors. Need to come through a wall out of rubber (there must be epics who can create those), or, let's say, a dome of swirling water? Turn it into steel and let Prof/ Tavi drill.

Mizzy got her powers in the same moment when calamity disappeared. Their only interaction before was when she asked him "what does a girl gotta do to make you summon a shower?" and larcener said "die". Probably in his last moments he remembered it and gave her some "thematically appropriate" powers, like making it rain or create water jets. Or, being the jerk he was, to summon a shower once a day.

Symmetry Man: All things are at least slightly asymmetrical. Symmetry Man hates this. When he feels like it, he can make everything exactly symmetrical. Near things are easiert to change than far, small easier than big. Living things are immune. This power is kind of a prime invincibility, since it's difficult to shoot with a perfectly symmetrical gun with two stocks and no opening. Offensively the power is used to make unexpected things like shoes or knives symmetrical to cause pain or, in lucky situations, death. Weakness: mirrors. The enforced symmetry of mirrors irritates Symmetry Man that much, that he loses his powers for a short time.

Posted here to follow the thread. For myself I have no idea.

Same for me. It worked for some months and then stopped without any known reason. The "usual fixes" also didn't work.

Unluckily it's still unsolved. Could be a problem with access from germany or something.

I assume, that a Shardblade (dead) is about as wieldy as a bastarda when wearing plate; and it's quite the pain to wield a bastarda with one hand, even while wielding a shield in the other one. Two bastardas/sharblades ould be too much in the way of each other.
