  1. i read SH (and most other Sanderson works) on my phone. Kobo and Google are offering SH too.
  2. Just make sure to make the "X" somewhere, where the Treasure hunter is unlikely to vanish, since else your Bands would be lost forever.
  3. Is it coincindencial that there are exactly 16 Shards on the Picture?
  4. Quoting Brandon Sanderson: Rust and Ruin!
  5. That are the best deus ex machina endings.
  6. I never said that north and south were swapped, merely, that Elendel seems to be south of the equator. Southern Scadrial can still be far more south (let's say Elendel lies about as far from the equator as Florida does, there is still enough room between that and the respective pole)
  7. When you realize that Neo from Matrix is a full Mistborn, especially steel, pewter, tin and Atium.
  8. My idea. Very defensive Edit: cant attach File Edit2: Attached file 1) Primary defense lines (of forbiddannce).Protects against frontal attacks. Note the window on their rigth end. 2) Line for defense and bouncing. Window between 1 and 2 is relatively big, and protected by defensive chalkings. 3) Defensive Line, mainly to protect the main Chalking area. (5) 4) Here we draw most lines of Vigor. Line 2 is good for bouncing. We have some heavy-armored chalkings here. 5) Main chalking area. The window between 1 and 3 allows mysnake chalkings to leave prety easy, while most enemies' chalkings, even if they pass the window, will be torn apart between knights and turtles. 6) Here I draw my last resort. dismissing some lines of forbiddance i hacve four snakes and a "dragon" ready. 7) Backside, obviously protected less than the front side. In this area I can draw some chalkings, tha i could use for a flank attack. One never has "enough" chalkings. The pink arrows indicate obvious weak points. Usually a turtle or a line of forbiddance can fix this problem to some point. The circle inside the main circle is another anchoring point. Could be probably painted outside to fix the weakness of this part, but also makes the whole structure less stable. Edit 3: I would appreciate a method to counter this "Alfa-defence"
  9. Well, when gasoline turns up in Mistborn, you could be essencially named "worldbuilding assistants".
  10. My ten years old brother just asked me on which chapter of Alcatraz 1 we stopped. He left the room with his nose in the book. Im proud! It makes me even prouder that he did this while beeing a relatively slow reader. Hopefully in some years we will get a new sharder.
  11. 1) "Too many characters, not enough plot. Boring." "What are you reading?" "A telephone book" 2)"No characters, no plot. I still like it" "What are you reading?" "Ars Arcanum"
  12. Paolini (the guy who wrote Eragon) was relatively slow...
  13. For me that makes it even worse - i hate people who do evil deeds, but I even more hate people who don't take the responsibility for it. Amaram, at least, admitted, that he did something bad.
  14. Did we get a glimpse of in-world fiction anywhere in the Cosmere? I guess, there was something on Roshar, but not much. Would be interesting to see, how the fairy tales on Scadrial look like...and especially what Slowswift had written - something about elves who can burn silver ot stuff, probably.
  15. Also, while Jasnah seems to be ruthless and not to have a bit of mercy in her, she seems never to gain real personal interest in her deeds. That makes her creepy, but everything but the evil piece of crem Amaram is.
  16. In the Final Empire they had a 10-based system or a derivative of it: When they noticed the rule of 16, they talked a about exactly sixteen percent - and percentages only make sense in a 10-based system. In most other system 16% would be just a random number.
  17. [*spoiler] text [*/spoiler]. Without the star.
  18. About six years younger than Kaladin. As I said, Arc 2.
  19. The magic system was still a bit too soft for me (Balefire! Deathgates! Anti-gentling! Anti-stilling! The where-does-it-come-from-true-power! The Flame of Tar digeridoing Valon!) Also, am I the only one who has his problems with prophecies, especially if they are person-tied?
  20. I guess Liftadin (sounds weird) could be a thing for Arc 2.
  21. I guess, Elendel is indeed in the Southern Hemisphere: the proof of that - the northern Roughs seem to be Eastern-Afrika-like, while Elendel seems more Mediterranean.
  22. Some questions that I want to ask Sanderson, but since I am living in Germany, have little chance to ever ask: What is the percentage of lighteyes in Alethkar and Jah Keved and what is the percentage of parshmen? Is aon Ati "hope" related to Ati? Could you create a stamp to forge Sel itself and alter the course of history? On which side of the Aequator is Elendel? - It seems to be to the south, but what is then in the north? What is West of Arelon? What is this Island or peninsula bordering svorden and why is it not conquered by Fjordell? Who is Senna? (RAFO-triggering) How did Nazh and Khriss acquired immortality? (RAFO-triggering) Where, geographically, had the Oathpact been broken? How did ascended Rashek separate Nobles and Skaa? How many people are living on Roshar - especially Alethkar? If you measure a Seon, could you still use it for coversation or would it be locked like a firespren? Would it have healed Elantris by adding a line on the northeastern corner? Why does eacha Aon need only one chasm line and Not a number corresponding to that of Aon Aons in it? I would appreciate it very much if some of them would get asked.
  23. I guess both could beat Neon. One, by screaming, the other, by shooting constantly.
