    This is tough, I'm not sure I really have a favorite character in SA. In the Cosmere I really liked Marsh, Hrathern, and Vasher so I guess if I really had to pick someone I would say Zahel is my favorite in SA (I did enjoy him in WoR but my true liking for him comes from Warbreaker). My favorite scene though (not really a battle but whatever) is when Tyn reads the message on the spanread and realizes that Shallan is Jasnah's ward and attacks her. Similar to what Green Hoodie Mistborn said, I get chills everytime I read the line "Difficult things, Yes. I believe I told you. I’ve learned that lesson already. Thank you.". As theuntaintedchild said, the arena scene is great too. "Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do" certainly qualifies as one of the 'chills' scenes.

    No problem, glad to help. Yeah... for some reason a lot of the AMA stuff and several of the signing questions for around the same time never ended up on Theoryland. I was only able to find it because I remembered it was from the AMA last year and I just searched through the thread until I found it.

    You are correct, my writing Wizard was a slip, I had meant Sorcerer (and Cleric I suppose). With that said, your criticism is well merited. I'm not sure how else you would implement a mana based system similar to MtG other than overhauling the enitre spellcasting system.

    I would recommend doing a variation on a Wizard's spells per day. Give different spells an assigned mana costs and rather than having a certain # of spells per day you give the players a certain amount of mana per day.

    maxal, I envy your optimism about this. Your post actually got me a bit more excited than I was. I am bordering on cautiously optimistic now (a vast improvement from actively skeptical).

    Darkarma, Have you read the excerpt Jasnah POV chapter (released last year?)? Ivory references using a Perpendiculary to get Jasnah out of Shadesmar. As we know, they can be used to Worldhop. I don't think it is too far of a leap to guess if Ivory can take Jasnah out of Shadesmar through it then they could go through it to Worldhop.

    I have heard of it, but I hadn't until I was in college. Even when I did, it wasn't for a history class but rather a Political Science course focusing on Stalin's politics. As everyone has said, several atrocities have become little more than footnotes. A scary thought...

    The Irish Neutrality (at least openly) certainly gives you interesting perspective. It actually makes some sense that the war itself isn't huge in your history lessons.

    How is your read-through of WoT going? I'm actually re-reading the series at the moment. Currently, I'm about halfway though Fires of Heaven.
