Need to kill some time while I'm bored at work... Ask me anything!
The Sovereign replied to The Sovereign's topic in AMAs
I do quoting for commercial plumbing projects like hotels, schools, historical buildings, etc. Basically I scour architectural drawings and specifications and then quote how much the material will cost for the plumbing contractors to do the job. -
I just re-watched Cowboy Bebop for the first time in years: "I'm not going there to die. I'm going there to find out if I'm really alive."

Lord of the Rings is a great series, I have nothing bad to say about it except "Tom Bombadil, why?" Choosing C is not very orderly of you... All great games, Morrowind was excellent as well. From a strictly game play perspective it may have been the best Elder Scrolls game in the entire series. I would love to see it re-released with modern graphics. Shrug, sounds like you're just riding my coat-tails. Warbreaker is my favorite. I'm also really fond of Shadows For Silence In the Forests Of Hell. -
"Things you may have missed" in Oathbringer?
The Sovereign replied to Jofwu's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm pretty sure they are the metal lines on Ico's ship that the Lightspen and other shipworking Spren use to communicate. As for something easily missed: Timbre is Captain Ico's daughter. -
New picture of a Shard we haven't met
The Sovereign replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I don't have my Cosmere star chart handy, but maybe we should be giving it a closer look? Edit: Found a link to the image; Hmm, The "Dragon" in the Scar constellation could be what is depicted if you looked at it straight on. It doesn't seem to match up with any of the constellations which is what I was originally thinking. -
Interesting, I had never seen this WOB before. I have also seen a WOB that basically said that the eye burning from a lethal Shardblade wound was a very similar mechanic to withing.
-
What's wrong with Withering? It's basically just a full body Shardblade wound.

You know when you get home from a long day at work and you walk in the door to find your dog super excited and just going mental like they just won the superbowl, meanwhile your cat sneers at you like "go make me dinner slave" ...? That's why. -

Dogs Vin Kelsier Odium The Wheel of Time Currently: Elder Scrolls Online, all time: Mario Kart 64 @Silva B 1 (X=3, Y=2) They aren't. -
To add to what @Calderis et al. have said regarding it being being a joke and Wayne in fact being able to write; In addition to the above mentioned bandit hideout address (@Silva), he also writes a short note to Ranette in the notebook he gives her when he is "breaking up" with her.

At the Seattle Skyward Signing we got the following WOB: I've been giving this some thought and I've come up with a few things Brandon might be referring to: 1.) The Ghastly Gondola story from the broadsheet in Bands of Mourning; We see Nazh using a "gun" that appears to fire a Threnody Shade. This to me indicates that similar to a Spren a Shade can be captured and used to power a Fabrial. 2.) In Secret History Nazh says to Kelsier that becoming a Cognitive Shadow is a deeply personal choice and that there are procedures that need to be followed. In Shadows For Silence in the Forests of Hell we see that being withered by a shade to death will turn you into a Shade but I would guess that following the precepts that Nazh alludes to would allow you to become a shade and possibly retain your mind, this would explain the IRE's worry about them as they are clearly very dangerous and if you applied sapience it would likely only make them more dangerous. Alternately the shades could be more like the Unmade where many are mindless but some (The Deepest Ones perhaps?) can think. 3.) The last thing I came up with is the obvious question about Homeland and the Evil. This actually seems the least likely though as it definitely does not fall into the category of "No one has asked me about the thing".

Been a while so I guess I'll resurrect this... -
How characters are described vs how the appear in your head.

In my head Marsh is young Michael Caine. -
What would happen if you tell Nightblood he's evil?
The Sovereign replied to Leyrann's topic in Warbreaker
This is correct, it should also be noted that he doesn't react poorly, he just informs her that he isn't evil in the same way you would tell a small child not to touch something hot if they do not want to be burned. -
Hmm, this is really two answers... The scene that hit me the hardest [Elantris]: The biggest "Dafuq!?" scene [Oathbringer]:

On my mind, off my chest
The Sovereign replied to Mistborn Surgebinder's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Just for posterity... It's plausible... -
That was my plan after all, so... mission successful. I'm in Nitra, Slovakia today by the way...

I change mine periodically based on what I am reading at the time, but enjoy I guess... @Mestiv My VPN is doing work on your signature

They wouldn't and that is a punishment in itself, regardless of their knowledge of it. Ignorance may be bliss, but it can be a painful bliss.
-
Wouldn't not experiencing the rest of the Cosmere be punishment enough in itself? For revenge I would just sorta laugh around them and if they ever asked about the unprompted laughter just half shrug and mention that 'there is always another secret'...

I suspect you she was just drawing attention to the fact that the Alethi look (curvaceous, Tan Skinned, jet black hair, etc) are the current standard for beauty in Vorin culture. On the topic of Horneater and Herdazian - Listener relations, the Horneater jaw and Herdazian finger nails are essentially carapace.
-
Welcome to the forum, not to nitpick (as I pick some nits...) but while the Vedens and Alethi do share a Religion and their languages have the same root in the Dawnchant the do not appear all that similarly. Vedens are pale skinned, light (auburn-reddish) hair, and violet eyes and Alethi are a dark tan with black hair and brown, tan, blue eyes. Horneaters like Herdazians are descendants of Human and Listener interbreeding at some point. I think it is more likely that they are the descendants of modern day Vedens and the Listeners and the red hair is actually a trait inherited from the Listener side as their hair strands are a reddish color.

Same as most of you I suspect, I put one foot in front of the other and whatnot...

Anyone know anything about "Secret Project" ?
The Sovereign replied to Alex Do's topic in General Brandon Discussion
This seems plausible, I also think it could be something Wheel of Time related.
