  1. For favorite country I have a few answers; I have lived in the United States, Canada, and China. I would say I enjoy living in the US the most of the three. I have travelled to several countries besides where I've lived: Mexico, England, France, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Russia (technically, although I've only been a few miles into Siberia from Harbin, CN). Of those, Japan was the country I've enjoyed the most. Regarding the food; for the US; Crawfish Étouffée I had in New Orleans. In Japan I had Kobe beef in Kobe and it was the best steak I have had in my life by a long shot.
  2. You may be referring to something else, but I remember there being a lot of rumors that Robert Jordan had planned on Mazrim Taim being Demandred. Allegedly he changed it because too many fans had guessed at it prior to a point where he thought he had given enough clues for people to make the connection.
  3. In all seriousness, I suspect @teknopathetic probably has the right of it. To "Lift" something is slang for stealing it.
  4. We do know he is a Worldhopper and he is originally from Scadrial (via context and confirmation via this 2018 WoB) . I was just rereading through the WoBs that mention him and stumbled upon this one from last year: I had never seen this WoB before. Combined with other WoBs that have stated that his loyalty has changed at different points in his life, I am now inclined to think he is not a Ghostblood. He would probably be hiding his name if he were. I think we can even take it one step further and hypothesize that he isn't and never has been a Ghostblood. They don't seem like the type of group you just leave, so if he had been a member and left, I think secrecy would be much more important to him. I'm actually leaning back toward he may have been a member of the 17th Shard at some point but likely left the group.
  5. I am currently re-reading all of Mistborn and I noticed the descriptions of the Inquisitor Hemalurgy room in The Conventicle of Seran and the Set's interrogation room have some similarities. As we know the Set were using Hemalurgy it made me wonder if they were using the room for Hemalurgic experimentation.
  6. This one is very interesting; A few things to consider; The bind points in an Aviar are different than in man so it might not be possible to make a Hemalurgically altered Aviar that is still in form an Aviar. That many spikes in such a small creature would likely cause significant changes to the body. In addition "bonding" the Aviar isn't the same as bonding say a Spren, Seon, Etc. While you could surely give an Aviar additional abilities via Hemalurgy, I suspect that making an 'Inquis-iar' would be technically be possible, but it would very difficult in a practical sense.
  7. It had to happen for a reason that will become obvious in not too long.
  8. "This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there." It is one of my favorites as well. Excellent choice.
  9. 1.) Good Will Hunting 2.) Dazed & Confused 3.) Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back 4.) The Nightmare Before Christmas 5.) The Big Lebowski A few honorable mentions in no particular order: South Park: Bigger, Longer And Uncut Pan's Labyrinth Pulp Fiction Fargo The Princess Bride
  10. Bayle Domon & Egeanin Tamarath (Leilwin Shipless)
  11. As we know that Ambition's vessel 'Uli-Da' was a Sho-Del, this WOB makes me wonder if the Evil on Threnody is related to corruption from the Fainlife. Assuming Ambition had invested in Threnody, it would stand to reason she brought the Fainlife with her.
  12. For the sake of picking nits... Avienda got there first. "Kneel and swear to the Lord Dragon, or you will be knelt."
  13. Sort of... I'm pretty good at detecting when someone is lying. Though I think that has more to do with paying attention to body language than anything else... Probably an omelet of some kind. My recent go-to has been Loukaniko, Spinach, and Feta.
  14. Just thought I'd let you know that your "You should read Cradle" worked at least once. I just finished up Reaper about 3 minutes ago.

I am completely on board with you on all of that. I also suspected we would see Li Markuth again and then was basically sure of it when the mentioned the prison break in the earlier chapters. It was cool though to get an idea of how powerful he actually was since Foundation Lindon and Suriel weren't the best of litmus tests... I found it pretty interesting that he was actually more powerful than Monarchs so without Suriel's initial intervention he might of actually succeeded in his original attempt.

I think my favorite part of the book was Dross bullying Northstrider's Codex.

    4. Invocation

      Invocation

The funniest part about the whole Markuth thing is that he didn't even ascend under his own power, he hitched a ride with someone else and then he tried to come back and hype himself up while relying another Iteration's energy system to fill in the gaps. But yeah he deserved it.
Dross haunting the Codex was hilarious, but I have to give the spot of favorite moment to Fisher Gesha yelling about Lindon over the teleport thing.

  15. I most certainly am not Hoid...
  16. By the time Aran'Gar and Osan'Gar are brought back you have enough info to figure out who they are but it isn't plainly spelled out for quite a while. Who they are and some some other Forsaken info as of the beginning of Lord Of Chaos:
  17. I had interpreted it as something entirely separate; likely something that will come up in Apocalypse Guard. The Demon itself says that it is something other than a person or an Epic. My guess would be it had infected someone else and then Lifeforce transfused himself with their contaminated blood. The Demon found a much better host in Lifeforce and was able to grow. I also interpreted the scene where Lifeforce injects Paige as the Demon itself fully in control and preserving itself, rather than something Lifeforce was choosing to do. The need to build a work of art (for lack of a better term) seems to be something of the Demon rather than Lifeforce based on what it says to Paige.
  18. Like 5 years ago I watched the first 2 seasons of Gotham and then stopped abruptly despite liking it. I am currently rewatching the whole series from the beginning. I just got to the first episode of the last season last night. Penguin and The Riddler make the whole show.
  19. I'd recommend picking this back up whenever you finish whatever you are currently reading. In my opinion Lord Of Chaos (Book 6) is the strongest in the entire series. It is definitely the "Things are now different" book of the series. As far as character development it is a larger step for Rand than accepting that he is in fact the Dragon Reborn was. It also ends with one of my favorite scenes in any book I've ever read (although not actually my favorite scene in a Wheel of Time book, that doesn't come along until The Gathering Storm).
  20. Patriot's Day is a fake holiday... Work is super dead... Anyone got any questions?
