  1. Hmm. If artifabrians can create fabrials to replicate Soulcasting, I wonder if it'd be possible to replicate other powers, like the two Windrunning powers. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the new fabrials being developed show up as Radiant powers and vice versa. Also - because I seem to be filled with unanswerable questions today - I wonder if calling the Windrunning powers Lashings is a Windrunner thing, or whether the other two Orders that share those powers also call them Lashings, or would they have different words for the same powers? Hmm, I wonder if there are other kinds Lashings. For as diverse as soulcasting is, and it's only one power, Windrunning - using two - is really quite limited. Binding objects together doesn't seem like nearly enough to constitute an entire power. There's so much more that could be done with atmospheric pressure. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more applications for gravity manipulation as well.
  2. The more I read, the more I keep seeing the word "shash" everywhere. It's on Kaladin's forehead and as a glyph means "dangerous". However, it's also apparently one of the orders of Knights Radiant, the sixth, garnet, and the best contender for Shallan's order. Shalash, which is very close, is the Herald whose statues are disappearing and possibly Baxil's mistress. Beyond that, in Warbreaker (slight spoilers) I have a feeling that there is something very significant with that word/letter/glyph. It's just in too many places.
  3. Just to set things straight, is soulcasting a power? Or an order? I'm more inclined to believe it's a power and that Shallan and Jasnah are different, but adjacent orders, but does this mean that the term Soulcaster is not the same kind of word as Windrunner. Would we refer to Jasnah and Shallan as different words because they're from different orders? Also, my vote is Shallan = Shash, Garnet, Blood and Jasnah = Palah, Emerald, Pulp
  4. Really awesome! I've been trying to find a slave bracelet that looks enough like a soulcaster to make a good christmas present for my friends, but this blows me away. I don't know if you've looked at other designs, but "slave bracelet" searched in Google or Etsy comes up with some cool designs!
  5. Wow. Mad props to you! Excellent catch!
  6. Awesome! Aww TenSoon and Melaan! I'm glad to hear they're still around.
  7. Chaos, now I'm going to have nightmares because of you and your worldhopping Inquisitors! Storm it all!
  8. Absolutely. http://promstuck.tumblr.com/post/9684829119/it-seems-that-your-prom-has-been-damaged
  9. I have a feeling that Wax's spike is probably either charged from a coinshot or a weight gainer (I don't know the Ferring names off the top of my head) so he wouldn't really notice a new power when he put it in.
  10. I think she's saying that her bubble includes herself, as opposed to the entire world. It's not the clearest choice of words, but I don't think it implies that her power only works with herself.
  11. I just have to say it, Endowment is a girl in my mind. Not sure why, but that's the way it is. As for the technicalities, I'm pretty sure that you can give your shard away willingly. Even though Kelsier never truly held Preservation, he did sort of give it up when Vin took over. I like the idea that Endowment periodically switches hands. It feels like the longer you hold the shard, the more it's intent would shape you to give it away. I don't know that the person is new every time, it could be a few people switching back and forth between themselves.
  12. Hmm, kind of like an opposite of the Kkell oath from Mythwalker. Dominion- More oaths = More Power, Kkell More oaths = less power. Interesting.
  13. You should see him as the head chaperone of the AHS prom. Reminds me, I need to keep reading promstuck!
  14. That was my guess too, Darius. You'd get to see possible future selves, as opposed to future shadows from a few seconds.
  15. I really like the idea that Honor was already ten-faceted before (if ever) it shattered. It gives me either the feeling of a cracked shard (separate but still held by one person) or of a willful deliniation of powers by Honor. I really like the cracked shard idea though! Also, I'm pretty sure that the shard has to have some kind of cognitive aspect attatched to it, though weaker cognitives will not be able to use the power very well. Remember that Kel held Preservation sorta in between Leras's death and Vin's ascension. Though that makes me wonder, was Vin able to take the power away from Kel because she was still alive and could make a better connection, or did Kelsier willfully give the shard up as soon as the earring was out?
  16. While I don't think that Wayne is a kandra, I'm pretty sure kandra can have allomancy. In the books it was just said that a Kandra wouldn't gain an allomancer's powers from eating the allomancer, but there was nothing that said they couldn't aquire the abilities hemalurgically. Actually, that'd be pretty cool, and a great way to solidify the disguise. Before you kill the allomancer to take their place, spike them and take their power to fool all their friends. Very cool.
  17. I'm pretty sure it's a dramatacized picture of when Dalinar and the Parshendi shardbearer salute each other. The armies have just been taken out to clean up the image. Though I must say, as epic as the storm and Shattered Plains look, I have never liked Dalinar's cape. It's too spidery-looking, and at first, before the book even came out, I thought Way of Kings would be too weird. The spirally shardblade kind of threw me off too.
  18. I like that idea, Green Hoodie Mistborn. Then what seperates Honorspren (assuming that both Syl and the Symbolheads are classified as Honorspren) would be that they are more connected to the physical world and have more of their cognitive abilities showing through.
  19. There is a thread already. You're just a little late! Here you go: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/1179-thoughts-on-atium-alloys/ Also, could we get an admin to maybe merge the two?
  20. I really like this theory! It's simple and concise, unlike some of the others' on here *cough*Chaos*cough*PrincipleofIntent*cough* Kidding. Don't spike me please! Consider me espoused!
  21. Lauren's right. It acts more like an atium pair than a gold pair. It works like atium with immediate shadows. Hmm, I wonder if there is an Atium alloy that allows you to see far into your own future. Electrum-Atium perhaps?
  22. Snapping wise, it's not really possible to tell that you've snapped unless you've got some allomantic metal ingested and can suddenly burn it. Remember the mistsickness, no one knew that that was snapping until someone gave them metals. If there were Atium-alloy mistings (which there may or may not be; I'm still not entirely sold on the idea) they'd be like alumnium and duralumin gnats or atium mistings, who don't even realize that they have powers because either the powers don't manifest or there are no metals around. Also, there was something mentioned in the AoL reactions thread that Sazed changed the way that Snapping works. So, hey. Everything could be completely different now.
  23. Hmm, it's possible. I wonder if a misting could burn the Atium alloy of their metal. Like could a Tineye burn the Atium-tin alloy? Or is there another set of mistings out there specifically for Atium?
  24. I think what was decided was that when one is a twinborn, you can choose to burn the metal allomantically, or you can choose to "burn" the feruchemical power. There was something about this in another thread, but I don't remember where that was.
  25. Very cool! It's always nice to get some definitive shard clues!
