  1. Hush, you. I ain't joining any league anyways, and my shift don't start till sunup, so I want my sleep!
  2. I pull the blanket over me and roll over a bit. 'It's bad enough us guards on the day shift have to sleep so close to those on duty. Apparently the captains are worried we might be needed at a moment's notice, as if we'd be any use just woken from sleep anyways. If only the night guards would take care to keep quiet. I'll have to look into some earplugs.' (That's my story from why I'm sleeping and I'm sticking to it. Consider that all to be Remart's "in his head" monologue, not spoken out loud.)
  3. Oh, absolutely. But, it's often wise for Elims to ask some questions in-thread, since otherwise they can slip up and reveal a rule clarification they received in the doc, but that others don't know, and it can tip us off to them. That question in particular was worded to sound very villager-y, but I think having it answered probably benefits the Elims more.
  4. Frozen Mint, your question about the kidnap sounds like an Elim trying to figure out if they can slip something past the villagers. I've got mostly village reads on the others who have posted this cycle so far (though I'm mixed on The Flash). Edit: @Frozen Mint, tagging you so you know you've been voted on.
  5. (I'm gonna try some entirely first-person RP, which might read as just my normal posts. This is Remart speaking, though, not Jondesu. Just an experiment I might not keep up the whole game.) It's late, folks, and I've had plenty of ale and roast pig (delicious, by the way). I suggest we all get some sleep and not worry about anything tonight. I guess you couriers will probably have to be hard at work sending messages and all, but I want my nice warm bed. If you must be up, just be sure not to make too much noise for those of us who aren't.
  6. Heh, all in good fun, though. Randuir and I had an awesome tag-team RP going in… *looks back* LG30, and I decided I trusted him because of a number of factors, and then, BAM, he stabbed me and everyone else in the back. In an awesome way. I don't hold it against him. I just don't trust him. Like I don't trust Aman. Or Elenion.
  7. Just be confident. That's the biggest thing I learned through my many real and practice interviews now. If you're not confident, then even if you're an excellent candidate, you can feel off to them. If you're not the best candidate, but you appear more confident, you might even get the job over someone else who wasn't as confident.
  8. You should always be suspicious of @randuir. Always. Even if you think he's proven villager. EDITED IN: I'm still working on trying to figure out a solid strategy for the holders of the Elements to work together, but for now, I have a couple suggestions (many of these align with Rand's from the first cycle, but I'm just going to post them anyway because it's what I came up with on my own, and I only referred back to his to see if I directly contradicted anything he said): Honesty: Target Unicorns first, so then you have someone who can create PMs for you. Then target Pegasi, since they'll be the most dangerous when it comes to forcing a tie or changing the lynch target. Target me too, so you know I'm good. :-P Generosity: Pass your power often. This one should cycle through a lot of people, and by keeping track of who you give it to and then learning (if we can) who it goes to and if it goes immediately the next cycle, we can smoke out the Changlings (since they won't know who it actually goes to). If possible, the holder of Honesty should coordinate with the holder of Generosity when that process begins, and they can work together to confirm the alignment of those who get Generosity. Laughter: Use your power. Just about every cycle. Target yourself at some point randomly to keep your identity hidden, but target otherponies you think are probably clear, even if you're not sure. If we can't lynch someone we think is suspicious one particular cycle because of your actions, that's not a huge problem, but you have the potential to be very influential. If you find out who the holder of another Element is, include them in your targets that you cycle through, but randomly (roll a die or something if you have to). Kindness: I'm tempted to tell you to out yourself and let us lynch you, since we'd then have a confirmed good pony, but that works towards the Changling's win condition. If we get down to where we think we only have one or two Changlings left, though, and there are still multiple Elements in play, that might be a valid strategy. Magic: As Randuir said the first cycle, don't do anything to draw attention to yourself unduly. Play as if you're any other pony, and if you're up for the lynch, defend yourself (unlike Straw). Everyone else: Don't get sick. There's all kinds of nasty bugs going around, I think, and some of you are looking a little green. Or pink. I think Razor Shard is getting a little bit of white around the edges of his mane, too, which could be a sign of early aging. I think I need to take a nap…
  9. Totally understandable. Schitzo had a fit of exhaustion today too, though it may have been something he ate. The loss of Loyalty is a big blow, definitely. It had a lot of potential uses. If I get the mental energy, I'm going to try to piece together some good strategies using what we still have, but I don't know that I'm likely to want to share them publicly. If a Unicorn wants to include me in a PM with a couple people they trust, I might take that approach.
  10. Simple and effective, and very relevant to SE games. Also, it reminds me of this: 9/10
  11. Fair enough, I'm a fickle pony, and I was still considering it. It was just a regular equine emotion, though (perhaps aggravated by a bad case of hoofrot), and I didn't mean anything by it. I didn't even vote for you, after all. Losing the Element of Loyalty is certainly bad, worse even than losing your bag of sugar. We knew we'd lose an Element if we didn't lynch someone, but I was really hoping we'd manage to at least not lynch the holder of another Element. That sucks, and sorry, Straw. We didn't have a lot to go on, though, as is usual for a D1 lynch, and your post was just weird to me. I need to learn that that's rarely a good indicator of an Elim, however, who are usually more careful. I agree with Randuir that Alv's vote makes him slightly more likely to be a villager, since I can see the Elims benefiting from trying to force a tie and lynch the holder of the Element of Generosity instead, but I also don't think they would have wanted to tip their hand any earlier than necessary, so he isn't cleared completely. It's possible that one of us who voted for Straw is an Elim, since they would have known he was village, but again, a tie would have been to their benefit too, so I think that's out as a possible indicator of alignment as well. I'm guessing at least a couple Changling's didn't vote, actually, trying to just avoid suspicion. @Seonid, you posted just a single time, though it was good advice to the Unicorns, and then didn't vote. Did you just not see anyone you felt like voting on, and why didn't you post again once there was more discussion? Very few people didn't participate at all, which is awesome, but makes that again not a good way to find possible Elims (and it's probably not a great way anyway). I hope @Darkness Ascendant is able to get on and play, but I know his situation can make that difficult. I'll probably vote later, but for now I can't find any convincing reasons to vote on anyone in particular. I do hope you'll see that my reasoning wasn't like that of a Changling, though, PK, and instead help us find a better target for today's lynch.
  12. I'm tempted to toss a vote onto PK, in retaliation for his vote on me (albeit retracted), and I'm resisting because it seemed well-intentioned, and has been thoroughly discussed. I want us to be able to avoid a tie, which would lead to the pony holding the Element of Generosity being lynched if I understand correctly (a very bad way to start the game), and while I'd love to start talking Contribution Crusade right now, that won't help the tie possibility, so instead I'm going to put my vote on Straw. I dislike votes placed without any reason given, even on Day 1, and of the available options with at least one vote already, he's the one I would most agree with lynching.
  13. It wasn't blue, but we trust you anyway. If you're on mobile, use (color=blue)(/color), except replace the parentheses with square brackets [ ]. Edit: Unless Schitzo's going colorblind. Oh my, is my coat still blue?
  14. @Paranoid King, I do want to apologize for missing your logic. It was more sound than I thought, though I still don't appreciate being singled out when I wasn't even really defending Randuir (but I also realize I didn't make it clear that I was commenting on the fact that I've seen posts like that used by Elims to gain trust in the past, and that I didn't get that feeling from his post). Glad to see you've moved your vote from me. I'll plead brain fog from the RL stuff that's been going on. I'd do some more RP, but Schitzo is currently sleeping off the effects of his favorite healing brew of green tea and blackberries, with a little bit of turmeric added for the burning sensation in his left flank.
  15. Welcome to the game! There's always discussion about whether we need to lynch someone Day 1 and how to go about choosing that, but avoid a townsperson, and the answer is, you can't be sure. But you can't be sure Day 2 either, or Day 3, unless you start with a Day 1 lynch based on whatever gut feelings or suspicions you can come up with. It's okay to bandwagon onto someone else's suspicions sometimes too, but try to at least state the part of their reasoning you agree with, so we can use that in later cycles as we figure out who is innocent and who is not. So look around, and if you see someone acting in a way that you think would indicate they might be a Changling (i.e. an Eliminator), toss a vote on them, and tell us why. If you don't vote, it's ok, but it's preferable if everyone votes if possible. And if your hoof starts hurting, come have the doctor check it out. Your mane is looking a little saggy too, are you getting enough sugar in your diet?
  16. I've read pretty much the entire old canon, and I don't remember those details. Yes, the Chiss are still from the Unknown Regions, though the name of the home world hasn't been mentioned yet. I am curious to see how the Outbound Flight is going to be handled, and specifically because Thrawn mentions meeting "General Skywalker", although considering the amount of knowledge he seems to have gathered even before giving them that tidbit, Anakin might not have been a General at the time of their meeting still.
  17. Wait, really? Guess I either haven't played a game with you or just didn't recognize your name/avatar. In that case, you'll be fair game for me. Schitzo started slightly as the pony he didn't remember seeing before placed his hoof on Schitzo's back. Scaring the colts and foals? Oh. Oh no. That was the last thing Schitzo wanted to do. He nodded his thanks at Razor Shard as the otherpony moved on, and much more quietly slipped away from the already too-panicked crowd to find a doctor. His hoof was starting to hurt now as well. Maybe he had an infection of some type. Or was it cancer? Oh no.
  18. Hemalurgic Headshot, thanks for responding. That was essentially a poke vote, but I wanted to make sure it actually generated some discussion (I've been trying to work on that since my first game, and I think I'm making progress). @Bridge Boy, the reason I picked HH over you is because you're new. I generally won't vote to lynch a new player until at least 2-3 cycles in unless there's hard proof they're an Eliminator. It's that simple. Your reasoning in return is wild speculation and absolutely nonsense, btw, so I don't even feel like responding to the rest of it. I think it was clear why I thought Randuir's post didn't mark him as an Elim (I never said it cleared him either, it's a neutral post). @Paranoid King, that reasoning to vote on me is…bizarre to me, honestly. I never declared Randuir's innocence, I merely pointed out (accurately) that his strategies were sound, and nothing in them pointed to him being an Elim. Absence of evidence and all that. I'm tempted to throw a vote back on you in return, but since your one vote on me is useless anyways as I'm an Earth pony (albeit one with a bad case of donkeypox, and I think I'm coming down with a cold as well), I'll hold off and see what you do and how others respond. Please, though, if you suspect Rand, vote on him, not me. As it is, you're just raising my suspicions of you.
  19. I watched the first two episodes of MLP just to get some idea of how they talk/act/etc. I don't think I'm going to become a fan and continue watching the show, but I can understand the appeal, and I hope I can do the RP justice. Here's my first attempt. Schitzo gasped along with most of the crowd as the proclamation went out about Changlings among them, of all things. And the Elements of Harmony, out among the people? He sure didn't see any of the famous necklaces or Twilight Sparkles' magic tiara on anypony around him, but surely if they were out there, it was everypony's duty to protect them and keep them away from the Changlings until they could be used to defeat Chrysalis. What a time to have a bad case of donkeypox! In fact, as he looked around, he could see otherponies with sniffles and coughs, sometimes even some telltale spots that must be signs of disease. This was horrible! He rushed away from the square to find a doctorpony who could perhaps offer a cure. As for tactics and how to proceed, @randuir's advice for each pony type and the holders of the Elements seems fairly sound, and considering he's not advocating revealing...much of anything to the thread or even via PM, I don't get a Changling vibe from that analysis post, which is good. However, I'm not picking up on much specific from anyone else yet, which is typical for a first day. Hemalurgic Headshot, you've only posted RP so far, though, and haven't weighed in on the tactics that others have suggested, or offered any of your own. What do you propose we do to protect the Elements, and to find the Changlings?
  20. Our doctor is seriously amazing. Not so far at fixing the problems (though what he says makes sense even though I haven't gotten any relief yet), but he offered today, almost insisted (not that we had any reason to object anyways) that he wanted to call the certifying doctor at the company that handles my disability claim (which if you've been reading the bad day thread, you'll know has been a gigantic pain in the chull), and basically tell him he better ease off and grant my disability because my doctor has huge amounts of evidence to back up my claim along with a lot of medical research to support it that they've so far considered "insufficient". He is going to bat for us in a way I never expected, and whether it gets us the disability payments I deserve or not, it was a huge encouragement.
  21. Thanks, DA, you've been so supportive (and others of ya'll), and I appreciate it a lot. I'm home safe (well, at another doctor's visit right at the moment technically), and even though I'm not feeling better, I'm feeling...better emotionally. I didn't expect that considering it's another failure to fix the problem, but I guess it's largely relief to be home and no longer in the hospital.
  22. On my way to the airport (via Uber, first time trying that) to head home finally. It'd be happier if I'd gotten any relief, but I'm insanely homesick and ready to be there as soon as possible.
  23. Good point, though I'll argue that he did seem somewhat more lucid when we first saw him (with his Honorblade) than after, but not by much, and it's probably just because he'd just managed to get back and had the energy/willpower for that initial warning, and then was used up.
