  1. Clicking the image takes you to part of it (the Investiture is like bacon part), and the Hoid likes bacon comes from a WoB someone got in their book: "Hoid loves bacon" personalization For the sig above: 6/10. You said Meh, I take it as fact. The Hoid quote makes it quite nice, though.
  2. I thought I'd share a giveaway I semi-randomly stumbled on for the original Mistborn trilogy as a boxed set: View giveaway (Amazon) I don't know that it works for anyone outside the US, btw, so sorry if it doesn't apply to you, but hopefully one of us can win it! I found it by trolling the Amazon giveaways page, if anyone hasn't discovered that yet. That might be available in other country's Amazon pages too, even if this giveaway doesn't work elsewhere. I just bookmarked https://smile.amazon.com/ga/giveaways (I use smile.amazon.com to contribute to a charity when I buy stuff).
  3. Actually, that role reveal and the way you did it (plus the suspicion you're placing on Orlok, who I've gotten a fairly solid village read on, especially since he had no idea whether PK was Elim or not, but his reasoning for the detainment was good and he seemed genuine) makes me more suspicious of you, Striker. We have no way of knowing if you actually did protect Orlok, since someone else was attacked instead, and you could claim anything you wanted. Even if you're actually a Lurcher, that doesn't clear you, since any of the roles could be Elim or Village (except the Thief or Metallurgist, if I understand the rules correctly). You're ranked fairly highly on my suspicion list right now, and Flash, this adds to my suspicion of you a little, though not as much.
  4. The Honorblades don't seem to work the way they once did. They may be just a shadow of their original power, since we think (know?) that the Heralds drew Investiture directly from Honor, but I assume they cannot do that now. Perhaps that's the reason the Dawnshards are lost. Not because the physical items are gone, but because the power is gone. New headcanon: Kaladin will eventually take up Jezrien's Blade and tap directly into Honor's remaining Investiture (should work even without a Vessel) and become the new leader of the Heralds.
  5. Ironically named, then, since @Straw certainly doesn't suck. I always figured it was a reference to the tasty kind of straw though (tasty for certain animals, at least).
  6. I was just about to post that same link. I think the context in which we've seen them referred to agrees, with some apocryphal details added in.
  7. Why does everyone love straws if they're designed to suck?
  8. I know I'm quoting this a second time, but after Stick voted on Dalinar, I decided to review his posts, and I realized something about this post and my previous analysis. If Flash, Cluny, Lopen and I (the four involved in his little logic puzzle) are indeed all village as I'm sort of suspecting, this is an excellent way for an Elim to place suspicion on multiple people, which different players will interpret differently and vote on some of those involved, but it makes Dalinar seem like he's trying to be helpful. Agreeing with Lopen and just following his lead is another way for an Elim to hide (just following along with a villager rather than making claims of their own that might be disproven), so this seems textbook Elim in a lot of ways to me. Dalinar, as I said before, Stick's poking of people asking them to post more is only beneficial, and is also pretty normal. Why does that mean Stick must be Elim?
  9. It's Hoid, from the additional scene in Elantris that was added in the Anniversary edition. As for Straw's sig, I think I might have already rated it, but 8/10 for a funny quote. I'd suggest some formatting to make it more visually appealing, though. I don't care about D&D, but nicely done with the link for those that do.
  10. Definitely an approach some take. It's somewhat risky, but you're right that it can sometimes be beneficial. If you want to take the risks associated with that approach, go ahead. Just know that the Elims usually don't like that, an also that if you do survive, people tend to begin to suspect you (since they expect the Elims to take you out). Good luck!
  11. I mostly agree with your little logic puzzle, but I'm beginning to think that Lopen, Flash, Cluny, and I are all village and that the Elims are just sitting back and letting this go on. I've had a fairly good village read on Lopen for a while (though I've been wrong about him in the past, so I'm not going to assume anything), I just said I felt Cluny was probably village after all, and I'm wary of Flash but since he's fairly new, his actions fit with a villager just trying to figure out what to do (I remember being there, especially after starting as an Elim in my first game, then trying to figure out how to shift to being village). I think I might agree on BR, but at the same time, it's entirely possible that it was either an intentionally misleading comment or just something that wasn't really discussed in an Elim doc/missed by BR. I know the times I've played as an Elim, I try to ignore whatever is in the Elim doc while I'm posting in the thread for the most part, to try and keep my posts sounding villagery, genuinely. I'm not so sure about Stick. I would normally be suspicious of that, but that's pretty typical for Stick I think. I'm pretty sure I voted on her for that in a previous game, in fact, and she was village then, and people told me that was just par for the course. I rarely let someone off the hook completely, and I'm not ruling out Cluny still being Elim, but his behavior so far lines up with what I'd expect of a fairly inexperienced village. Also, @Cluny the Scourge, sometimes it's really not a good idea to offer your ability publicly like that, not just because it could make you a target, but because if it's public who you're going to seek, then if the Elims have a Smoker, they can just smoke that person and make your attempts useless. Heck, if there's a village Smoker suspicious of you they might do the same thing. It's generally best for you to just use your own judgement of who to seek, and then to let people know without revealing yourself to the thread, though that part is out the window now. That means there's no harm in you posting the results of any seeking you do, though expect that not everyone will believe you until there's confirmation (and being a Seeker doesn't mean you're not an Elim), assuming the Elims let you live. Honestly, though, in this game you're not as much of a threat because you don't get alignment, just roles, but any public confirmation of your role can be dangerous. Good to keep in mind for future games.
  12. @Cluny the Scourge, of course he can't do that, that would be GM confirmation of your role and results. Now I just don't know what to think about you. I doubt an Elim would be making mistakes like you are, though.
  13. I went back to reread it after you said that, and here's the two versions: Edited: Original: Unfortunately…I have to agree with you on this one, Lopen. I felt like I remembered there being a switch of target, and I obviously misremembered. So, because of that, I'm retracting my vote on Cluny. Sadly, I have no other real suspicions to act on right now, so I'm going to watch the thread for other people's reasoning before voting again (which is usually what I do anyways). Edit: I will poke @DroughtBringer in the hopes that he'll become active (clarification, this isn't a poke vote, just poking him). Otherwise, I might be suspicious that he's an inactive Venture, but I don't really know how likely that is.
  14. Hmm, Honorspren to Cryptic, who definitely have more of Cultivation in them, but still balanced. I don't know if I'm quite fascinated with lies enough for this to fit.
  15. I'll admit that it makes me wary to agree with The Flash, since I'm somewhat suspicious of him as well, but I have to repeat my vote on Cluny for now. That edited post from the last day cycle is just setting off alarm bells in my head, like it was changed and the copy/pasted from an Elim doc.
  16. I was just looking over the other roles, and I realized, Summer Glau would actually make an awesome Sylphrena. She's a lot like River Tam, personality wise, and she would make for an incredible Syl when she's angry or forceful too. Also, Molly Quinn could do Shallan just fine. Based on the X-Men movies, yeah, I think he's got the acting chops probably. He's young, but of course he'd need to be, and I think he could give Adolin the personality he should have.
  17. I can't imagine him dark and brooding enough. Paul Bettany would be an awesome Hoid, actually, or Axies, or could probably handle a number of other characters.
  18. @maxal, considered Lucas Till? I could definitely see him as Adolin.
  19. So, from a source I hadn't seen before: http://coppermind.huiji.wiki/wiki/问答与访谈/WoP_2015#.E9.82.AE.E4.BB.B63, I found the following WoP: The larkin are cremling/larva versions of lanceryn is the part that stuck out to me. We don't really know much about the larkin yet, except their ability to suck Stormlight out of Radiants and proto-Radiants, but the idea that they eventually grew into greatshells is fascinating. It makes me wonder what the first stages of something like the chasmfiends may look like; they could be much smaller than I originally assumed, and the massive pupating ones have already grown or use the highstorms to reach that size in an absurdly short period of time. (Thanks to @The One Who Connects for posting that link in a different thread, even though it was about a different WoP on that list).
  20. Yeah, there's obviously something extra happening, but remember that they were also using Stormlight at a prodigious rate in the storm, flying around and fighting, and they definitely had it coming off their skin a lot; they're described as "two glowing figures", and it says about “Szeth’s glow could not be hidden, and Kaladin kept his attention on that blazing beacon”, and just before that, when Szeth dips into the storm and regains his Stormlight, it calls it a "stark white explosion". Obviously it's actually fairly similar, there just wasn't any ground for glyphs to appear on, and perhaps the visual is a bit different. The key is that for Kaladin, there's no highstorm for him to draw that much Stormlight from when those things happened. There's nowhere near enough Stormlight around, not from the gemstones in the Parshendi beards, nor from the lamps in the hallway. He's being infused with Stormlight from somewhere, I believe, but it's the source that makes him special. I do think he's going to be something like Vin, or even perhaps something akin to the Heralds; he was able to gain Stormlight perhaps from a link to Honor directly in some way (even though Honor is splintered). Perhaps more similar to Raoden, actually, where he fit the mold of what the power wanted so closely that it was fighting to be set free; Honor's power may not be bottled up and raging like the Dor, but I think there's some sort of similar mechanism in place. Not the same trope, but rather some of the underlying laws and principles of Realmatic magic linking those examples (Vin, the Heralds, Raoden, all seeming to be Champions of their Shards in a way, as well as drawing Investiture in directly from a non-typical source, with the exception of Raoden in the last part of that).
  21. He ain't gonna be no Fabio. Not that I even ever found Fabio attractive, but I'm a straight male, so maybe that's expected. I do agree he's probably (and should) going to be a basically unknown actor, but at least we can try to find some options. I also don't think he has to be as universally handsome as you're saying; everyone in Bones (the TV show) basically swoons over both Brennan and Booth's looks, yet I don't think either of them would fit "universally handsome". What about Ezra Miller? I feel like he fits the overall feel of the ethnicity, even though he's not really Asian at all, and the strong cheekbones would fit (I know that's how Dalinar is described, and while Adolin takes after his mother, that could still be a link between them that would work well). As an aside, one of the lists I just looked at had Jonah Hill listed as a "handsome actor". Really? I'm pretty sure he's usually cast for the opposite reason.
  22. This is quite well done, and as others have said, most of these types of quizzes aren't! I got Dustbringer, which I'm not 100% sure I agree with, but I can see why it fit. My answers were probably somewhat all over the place when it came to placing me, so I suspect there wasn't a large gap between that and the next most likely result.
  23. My thinking about the actual visual explosion of light and the glyphs is that it's similar to what we've been calling (Mistborn spoilers): Since Stormlight leaks out of a Radiant naturally, if he gained a huge amount of Stormlight all at once, it could result in that explosion. The glyph I think is coming largely from Kaladin's mental state, shaped as it were by his Cognitive self. That part in particular is probably fairly unique to him because of the emotional turmoil being resolved as he does it; the glyph always seems to represent something significant to that if I remember correctly (it's the Windrunner glyph in both cases, I think, but stylized differently, which we know can affect how the meaning is interpreted).
  24. Hmm, how about Jack Falahee? Not sure how he'd look blond, but if it looked right, he could fit the bill. Or there's always Justin Timberlake, or Hayden Christensen (kidding). Reece Thompson looks like another possibility. Not going to lie, I Googled "handsome young actors" for ideas, since that's not exactly something I generally track. EDIT: How do ya'll feel about Morena Baccarin as Jasnah? I suggested it on the site @billyswifty linked, and I think she'd be a good fit that I hadn't thought of before. Maybe not Asian enough, but there's going to have to be a good bit of leeway there anyways, to hit enough good casting.
