Better yet, have the coughing fit imprinted as the command phrase, in exact detail, and be unable to duplicate it to give them a new command.jW

Actually, she says when she gets back that she didn't use a perpendicularity, I believe. She was intending to, but things didn't go as planned.Edit: Just checked, she doesn't mention whether she did or didn't use a perpendicularity, but she does say she was "somewhat pressed for time". jW

New Information On AonDor Intitiation.
Jondesu replied to Blightsong's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
I would lean towards the idea that the pieces of the Dor, once splintered, anchored themselves in the Cognitive Realm in each nation, so you have Nation-Splinters that don't quite have sentience yet, but are actively continuing Devotion and Dominion's intents. Those splinters might not be equally divided, either, so Fjorden's splinters may be mostly or all Dominion's power, while Arelon's may be almost all Devotion instead. jW -
Lol, I totally misread the question. On Sel, the bond simply seems to grant the Seons undying loyalty and the ability to pass that bond to someone else. jW

Actually, the birthplace is a separate connection there. Your Spiritual aspect knows how old you are he says. I would assume it either is a connection to your birthdate, or some more magical form of Age Connection. Altering your Connection to a location of birth might do some interesting things, but it wouldn't change your age. jW

She used one for weight onboard the escape craft. So yep, we know they can use medallions for Feruchemy at least. jW

Just a couple things I've noticed when re-reading WoR
Jondesu replied to TySun's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I believe the WoB is actually that he didn't do what we expected with it, or else that he used it in a way we wouldn't expect (I forget which way it was worded). I took that to mean he likely used some other method of gaining Allomancy from it, perhaps without destroying/burning it at all so he can do something else with it later, or else used a part of it like you said. jW -
We know it would do something similar, but that doesn't mean surges. We don't really know what would happen yet. I don't know that an unbonded Seon could even travel to Roshar. jW

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Jondesu replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
I'm so exhausted I fell asleep for an hour or two when putting my daughter to bed. I then got up to get ready for bed...and it's now 3:33AM, and I can't sleep. Still exhausted, but insomnia is kicking my backside. jW -
There's talk several times of Plate and even Shardblades being used by trusted soldiers, but still belonging to the Highprince. It seems to be a common practice. jW
-
I think it was less about just hiding it, and more about giving Ruin something to hunt for and distract him while Preservation's plans fell into place. It was a trap basically. jW
-
maxal, my guess is that there would have been a worthy soldier using the Plate until Adolin was of age and ready to train with it, but as a family heirloom essentially, it would have been understood that it was destined to go to Dalinar and Shshshsh's son. jW

I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Baron Zemo. They made a point of keeping him alive and showing him uncowed by incarceration. I would bet he'll pop up again sooner than later. jW

It's been confirmed that Feruchemical Gold could potentially heal that, but I have no idea what kind of effect that would have on them and if they could heal perfectly, or just survive the process but with permanent unhealable damage. That does mean you could probably steal multiple attributes, but it wouldn't be easy and could have some unintended effects. jW

I've enjoyed Looking for Group for a long time, and The Adventures of Dr McNinja (yep). Oh, and No Need For Bushido, that's probably one of my favorites, and has a bit more seriousness the the others. I love OotS to, of course. jW

They had stolen the Shardplate they had, so yeah, they'd have been running away from the people they stole it from. jW

Yep, that's all nearly confirmed, though I don't know that we've gone as far as a WoB for any of that. Good catch though. jW

Why Hemalurgy isn't (widely) used Cosmere-wide
Jondesu replied to Alfa's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Pretty sure it's stated that The Lord Ruler supplied them with stakes if needed, but they would replenish their numbers when he let them. I suspect that knowledge was built into them in some way, since they'd be harder to teach. jW -
Why Hemalurgy isn't (widely) used Cosmere-wide
Jondesu replied to Alfa's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Since we're 99% sure that Allomancy uses metal flakes on other worlds still, I'm confident Hemalurgy would still use metal spikes anywhere. Finding the right ones for the trait to steal, as well as the bind points both on the victim and recipient? That's probably the biggest road block of all, and would require a Shard to figure out in all likelihood, even with lots of practice victims. Do you mean the existence of Hemalurgy, or how to do it for specific uses? The koloss themselves do the spiking to make new koloss, and same for the Inquisitors. I doubt any obligators knew how to use Hemalurgy, even if they knew of it's existence. jW -

I'm going to continue to hold to belief for now that it's basically solidified Stormlight, formed by the Knight's Cognitive self. jW

Best Twinborn Combinations (Excluding Compounding)
Jondesu replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
That lines up well with how Vin beat Zane, IMO. She read his reaction rather than her own shadows, but the same principle; she reacted based on what she was expected to do by the Atium shadows, and changed the result. jW- 111 replies

Hmm, I never placed that, but I haven't reread Warbreaker since reading Stormlight. Very cool, and sounds a lot like what I was thinking already. jW
