  1. Three of them are a little past being punched already, as far as we can tell. I don't think he's going to get to punch them all. jW
  2. Jefferson Airplane
  3. IIRC, there's a WoB saying that the box is just a box, related to Renarin's autism, but nothing magical or special in itself. It's possible there's a rock in it, I suppose, but it seems a little weird. I agree that the way Brandon worded it drew attention to it, but perhaps he was just messing with us. jW
  4. Yep, which is why Nale choosing him to join him, and giving him Nightblood, means absolutely nothing most likely. I very much doubt he's set to become a Radiant. A tragic story culminating in him becoming Odium's champion is probably more likely.jW
  5. Yeah, it's fairly clear that non-Shardbearers killing a Shardbearer is so uncommon as to be the stuff of legends, and the few accounts in-world are treated with skepticism. They might succeed by swarming them with hammers or spears, but only at the cost of many, many lives, and even that is exceptionally rare. Shardbearers are usually only killed by other Shardbearers. I don't see a Mistborn as having much chance without Atium, and no misting. They'd have to swarm too, and probably lose many lives in what could still easily end up being a failed attempt. jW
  6. I'm more of the opinion that Nale intends to use Szeth as a pawn and a weapon, but has no intention of making him a full Skybreaker. jW
  7. Stevie Griffin
  8. Good idea, done. :-) jW
  9. Wait, what's that about a potter getting the visions? jW
  10. I have to correct one thing, Confused. Brandon has stated fairly unambiguously that the Shard's Mandate (I think he used intent in the WoB, but I like the Mandate term too) only really affects how you gain access to the magic, not what it can do. My view from the WoB's I've seen plus in-world clues is that the Shard provides the method of Initiation, and in some cases provides a way to lose the power (ala Surgebinding), but the world and its foci in particular affect how to actually use the magic (metals on Scadrial, colors on Sel, etc) are an unconscious interaction between the Shard and the planet itself, and the Shard's Mandate doesn't play a role in what is possible with the magic system at all. jW
  11. Makes sense. I'm sure I did the same with the Dropbox version too, I so rarely host anything those ways that I didn't think about it. I would have tried putting it on one of my other website's server, but I was assuming the problem was with the BBCode. :-P jW
  12. D'oh. Bam, worked great. Thanks so much! jW
  13. Jasher would definitely be my choice, though Vasnah is great too. :-P jW
  14. Okay, so I know this is a bit of a necropost, but since the thread is short, I thought I'd save making a new topic. I'm trying to add an image, and I'm comfortable with both BBCode and HTML, but no matter what I do, I get either just straight text or a URL tag. I've tried images hosted on Dropbox and Imgur. Any suggestions? The code I've been using: [img=http://imgur.com/s2eVSaB]jW
  15. I'm stealing that. jW
  16. Ah, that's right. Doesn't it say something like "cords of energy"? Either way, a non-solid Physical manifestation. I wonder if splintering would require that to condense in some way into a solid physical form that can literally be shattered? I doubt it, but an interesting possibility. jW
  17. So I finally saw Deadpool (using VidAngel, because we don't want to see nudity), and it was awesome. Of course, ya'll know that if you've seen it, and you wouldn't likely be in this thread if you haven't, but still. Ajax gets his name from the dish soap? Spelling out Francis with the dead bodies was probably my second favorite part, after the bullet countdown at the beginning. jW
  18. You know, that makes me wonder if Vasher or one of the other five scholars simply met Khriss (or Hoid) and learned stuff from her, rather than traveling himself at that point.jW
  19. Yep, I think the reason that's a common mistake is because they're described at least once as the combination of 5 people, but that's because it's four spikes into one person, hence giving that one person the strength of four others (or a bit less after Hemalurgic decay of course). jW
  20. Didn't we see something like that with Ruin and Preservation when Sazed picked them up? I can't recall if they were just gaseous or if we saw something like a crystal (that's what I had in my mind). Don't have the book handy right now to check. jW
  21. Peter Griffin
  22. Why would people believe him, though. A whole lot of people watched Kelsier die, while many didn't even really believe The Lord Ruler did, like the Obligator who took over Cett's dominance (forget his name). The southern Scadrians only know what he called himself, and that revelation wouldn't alter anything if they did believe it, while most of the northern Scadrians might even think it heretical. jW
