  1. Ahhh... the Worldbuilders. I'm sort of a wannabe worldbuilder, who due to an extremely short attention span then goes off and starts writing the story before any signs of completeness.
  2. All of the Allomantic objects withing the machine vanish. *inserts fresh iron, steel, tin, pewter, etc.*
  3. For having one of the most unspellable names I have ever seen in my life... (No offence intended. Everyone spells my name wrong too)
  4. Ummm... A pretentious 13 year old (me) thought it sounded cool. Although I still think bards are cool (I have one as a main character in the book I'm working on), my ego's been deflated down to a more reasonable level. I've been thinking about changing it, but I've never gotten around to it. Also, when I first joined Steam (I think it was Steam, anyway), simply 'The Bard' was already taken.
  5. Welcome to the Shard! Out of interest, what was the last forum you belonged to that shut down? Are there any Cosmere stories that you haven't read?
  6. But I thought the Tinkers never found their song... Actually, do you mind elaborating? I have no idea what the Song of our People is - I don't remember anything about it.
  7. First world problem. When you have one tempo on the radio, the turn signal clicking at a different tempo that's completely unrelated. And your parents ask you why you're wrinkling your nose. I'm sure it's just me, but it still does irritates. #firstworldproblem #musicianproblem
  8. I was certain there was a blasphemy Terry Pratchett quote that I could make and sound witty. So I looked up 'Terry Pratchett blasphemy', and the first result was this. I really, really hope this is satire.
  9. This looks awesome. You must be extremely dedicated to your craft.
  10. And I still haven't read the Shepherd's Crown. I will get to it... someday...
  11. While this is true, it's also a thread necro, which is generally frowned upon. If you're confused about what a thread necro is, or what the site rules are, you can look it up here. (If what I said sounds harsh, I'm sorry. It's just meant to be a friendly nudge.)
  12. It's known. It was mentioned in the last news post.
  13. Not that I've tried it, but if you pre-ordered it should download automatically.
  14. You get a nightmare about reading things that give you nightmares. (This actually happened to me once. It was... very strange.) *inserts random information about myself*
  15. Well, I got the impression that the 17th Shard actively recruited it's members from wherever they were living (and taught them specifically, keeping it secret from the general populances). Hence why so many characters who appeared in the main storyline then went on to worldhop while the mains never learned 'the trick'. Khriss, however, having founded the 17th Shard, might not have gotten such preferential treatment. Or else, Frost taught her for some reason (hence Hoid saying 'your friends in the 17th Shard' to Frost in the Letter, if he was involved with them somehow. He has a non-intervention policy though, so I'm not sure why he would.)
  16. They make a big noise, but they don't really achieve very much. Trying to come up with one of these things is like meeting with the principal.
  17. I find it incredibly unfair that when you start using a new program, you have to learn how to use it before you can do cool stuff on it. Most unfair. Shouldn't all the information you require just be dumped into your head from a coppermind or something?
  18. You get soggy weetbix. (Because really, what's more horrifying than that?) *inserts soggy weetbix*
  19. Oh no... not this again. The Shard only barely survived the Great Wall vs. Ceiling War last time...
  20. Do we have confirmation he did splinter a fourth shard?
  21. The problem is, Sam and Frodo don't really meet anyone after Amon Hen (the Breaking of the Fellowship). And they don't really meet all that many people before, either. You can take minor characters (Barliman Butterbur, for instance) but no-one will know who played them.
  22. So (just naming LoTR actors here)... 1. Ian McKellan (Gandalf) 2. Elijah Wood (Frodo) 3. Hugo Weaving (Elrond) 4. Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) 5. Cate Blanchett (Galadriel) 6. Andy Serkis (My preciousss...) 7. Orlando Bloom (Legolas) 8, 9, 10, 11, 12: Whoever played Boromir, Faramir, Gimli, Pippin and Merry... Hold on a sec... 20? Anyway, that's a start.
  23. Please put this in spoilers. I've read it (about an hour after I made my post here), but others might be more anti-spoilers. Navy - read Secret History. Pertinent information is there.
  24. All good, except for the "Arcanum Unbounded". Something about that least 'ed' makes my face twitch. Also - how quickly does Sanderson proofread? It was at 1% just yesterday...
  25. Done. Currently, you're the only Israeli (Israelite?) on the board. You can view the map here.
