  1. People really weren't exaggerating abou the mobile version. Honestly, back in my day we just had phones that were used as phones. Kids these days. #isoundlikei'm90
  2. What do you consider to be the major limitation of yourself or your species?
  3. I have, but have been vastly more constrictive with my upvotes since that first time.
  4. Voidus agrees with the admins... Voidus becomes a mod... Just joking with you guys. No offence meant.
  5. Does Team Sanderson get any special powers? Also, on a seperate note, have you read Anathem by Neal Stephenson? (Disclaimer: I haven't. But it got described to me as Fantasy + Maths, and my first thought was "Chaos would love this.")
  6. Personally, the post I agree with most on this thread is Claincy's. He said everything I would have. I'll try to insert some new arguments in just so everything is on the table, and everyone can make up their mind. Exhibit A: "People claim they don't care about upvotes, but they seem to care about downvotes." This is a known phenomenon. It's called loss aversion. Basically, at it's core: Give a monkey an apple, it's happy. Give a monkey two apples, it's happy. Give a monkey two apples, and then take one away, it goes nuts. Humans, while a bit more sophisticated, have the same reaction. My point is neither here nor there, I'm just explaining what the psychological cause is, and leaving others to decide what they think. Exhibit B: "You could once have judged someone on their reputation on how well informed / Brandon informed they were, but can't any longer." I can't comment on this. I wasn't here during that era. But, looking around, the vast majority of the time, I can pick where someone is likely to hang out at a glance (mainly because of their signature). Is it full of espoused theories? Or does it have advertising slogans for the Dark Alley or the Reckoners RP? The other point is, you have told me that the rep system used to be different. You haven't told me that the old system used to be better, which I think is an important distinction. Just because you personally liked it more, it doesn't mean everybody did, as proved by the other side of these arguments.
  7. Thanks for the info. I really don't know enough about IPB to attempt to give any more suggestions, so I'll leave it there.
  8. -9,193 = Chasmfiend Corpse (just because Rubix was trolling Voidus. Again.)
  9. Yeah... I was thinking about this not too long ago. How much freedom does the site have to go bespoke with the code? Is it possible to do something that isn't directly supported by Invision?
  10. Hmmm... No luck with 25,000. 32,768, maybe? (Though I wouldn't put it past Chaos to place it at a completely random number just to throw us off...
  11. Ask and you shall receive. Also, when did Chouta change her name?
  12. I'm curious. Have you seen movies with people with autism or something similar? (For example, Rain Man is the first one that comes to my mind.) If you have, do you feel that it accurately portrays what autism can be like for some people? Honestly, I suspect I might have Asbergers and/or OCD, though I've never been tested formally. There are internet tests for everything, though some are a lot more accurate than others. The only way to be properly diagnosed is to go to a psychiatrist and have him do a test. If you're just curious, then here is one of the more reliable internet ones.
  13. Well... 1100 rep is enough to get you into the top 50, so 800 should probably get you into the top 100, at worst. 625, on the other hand, could get you about as far as... top 500? Maybe?
  14. Why? Has he had a conversation with Brandon about it? EDIT: Anyway, Feather, I look forward to listening to it. I intend to as soon as I get home.
  15. Congratulations to Morzathoth for making it to the top 50 rep count! Unless I missed the announcement already, in which case... congratulations anyway?
  16. No one wants to be the post after Morzthoth's creepy story... Consider it a compliment, Morz.
  17. You and Rubix were added by my predecessor on the old map (I found a way of copying the map so I could continue adding to it.) I'll move you two together. Also, if you want to PM me about it, and I'll organize for you (or another of the admins) to get admin access.
  18. I vote for Tempus. While most of the votes here are for people who, for want of a better word, are "in the spotlight", people like Tempus frequently don't get enough credit. For those of you who don't know him, he frequently makes theories. Also, for those who need a good laugh, check this out from Tempus. You will not regret it.
  19. Yeah... In many first drafts of various novels that I've begun, it's fairly frequent for me to do something like this: X picked up the orb of A, rushing to the door. Sliding under it, he pulled out I, slashing the rope from the gate, sending it clashing down after him. Y stopped, a look of disgust on his face. "You scoundrel." X looked at him, a dangerous glint in his eye. "You always said you didn't mean to trust me." Grabbing the Orb of A, he lobbed it into the air, slowly walking away. (Sorry, I know it's cliche. I made it up on the spot to demonstrate my point.)
  20. Technically, dragon's breath isn't about hot or cold air. It's about the difference in temperature. You get dragon's breath after you move from the warm area of your heated home or wherever indoors you were, to the cold outdoors. Your breath is part of that warm air indoors, which is why after the first few breaths it's not visible anymore. Your breath is now of that cold outdoorsy. It's cold meets cold: nothing happens. That's me saying that it's impossible to be 'too warm' too get dragon's breath.
  21. I believe all head admins are betas. Possibly the regular admins as well. I don't know.
  22. Hey, at least you're a beta reader. We all have to wait even longer than you do.
  23. Mother: What's that? Twi: It's an Arctic Fox. Mother: Why is it in our house? Twi: It's my new pet. Mother: *head explodes*
  24. Cat: This is not the cat you are looking for. Me: This is not the cat I'm looking for. Cat: Move along. Me: Move along. *walks into a wall, slightly dazed* On a separate note, we appear to have a few elderly people among us. Look at the birthday column. I dare you.
