  1. Is it just me, or does that cat look like it has a nefarious plot that it's about to unleash? I will catch... ALL of the mice. And you can't stop me. Ha... ha... ha.
  2. Sooner than soon. So... soon. Got it.
  3. Ringing in the new year? So, you're videocalling 2016 with The Phantom Menace? Don't expect 2016 to like you very much...
  4. Sydney's just had it's fireworks (which were pretty spectacular). I am now in 2016. Doesn't seem too different from before (except for maybe a slight dose of fatigue). Wishing you a happy new year.
  5. I personally don't think they're accurately to anything in real life either. I don't mind it being used a light topic-starter, though. It's not meant to be a deep and meaningful question. That's... incredibly enlightening. I certainly can see what they're talking about. Where are you up to? I did one great big binge-read of it, and probably will again now. DM of the Rings is good, too. (that's what inspired it). Is Darths and Droids finished, or ongoing? I lose track.
  6. I'd probably go with Chaotic Good, leaning towards the corner in the direction of True Neutral. And I still haven't seen the extended edition. Why is it so hard to get???
  7. I'm sure it's more than alluded to in the novel. Doesn't Miles at one point criticize Wax because he would have been on the side of the nobles in the Final Empire era? They only meet twice, in the train fight scene and at the end, so it should be easy enough to check.
  8. 2 n's in beginning. Just a friendly tip, if you want to fix it.
  9. Has... something like this happened before? I read the prologue, but I didn't go any further.
  10. Kudos to you. Just saying, the admins would probably have done something similar if you hadn't beaten them to it. So no rule-breaking at all. Although, just a side note: The beginning part is fine. Peter has specifically said it is OK to read the prologue (well, most of the prologue - it's not all there.) Just don't scroll down further, or else you will receive massive spoilers.
  11. Fun Question: If you were a D&D character, what alignment would you be? If you have no idea about what I'm talking about, here's a good place to learn a bit. Alternate Question: What cosmere characters would fill each spot on the alignment table?
  12. So... does that mean you're going to lock the old thread now? Also, I remember with the Random Stuff II/III changeover that II was left alive almost as long as it took to finish III. Is this a new rule?
  13. Homeschooling? I see way too much of my parents while I'm at home as it is... If I were homeschooled... I would probably try to jump off a bridge before 2 weeks were out. If it's not too personal, is there a particular reason why? If you don't want to answer that's OK.
  14. Unfortunately, my mother is not of the opinion that such things should be voluntary. Yes, I have just been watching QI. Can you tell?
  15. Concerning Cats: I have 2 cats myself. They're great. And yes, they do have a 'slight' destructive streak. I once left my homework out on the table. I woke up the next morning, moved to pack it in my bag, and found the cat lying on top of it, with half the textbook lying in small, tattered pieces around the table and floor nearby. The conversation with my teacher went something like this. "The cat ate my homework, miss." "Ha, Ha. Where is it?" "No, really miss. Look!" *pulls out tattered wreck of textbook with very distinctive chew and claw marks on it. On the small bit not destroyed, you can just make out fragments of my handwriting.* Concerning Twi's Parents: I can completely sympathize. It's like parents have a compulsive superiority complex. They can't handle the fact that their kids are just as capable as they are, more so in some respects, so they deliberately seem to find things that they can get the one-up on. Just 2 days ago, my mother wanted me to assemble a bookshelf for her. While I was doing this (extremely begrudgingly), she was wandering around the room, doing various other odds and ends. Periodically, she would peer over at me and tell me I was doing something or oother wrong, and that the bookshelf would fall to pieces. She eventually settled down to 'help' me, which basically amounted to annoying, pestering, and making me get really pissed off with her. She kept on trying to tell me what was and wasn't perpendicular. (That shelf is slanted the wrong way. It needs to be perpendicular, like this! *slants it away from the perpendicular to a really weird angle of the demonic dimensions*) I eventually left in a huff, my mother shouting threats after me. My father went to have a look at this half-assembled bookshelf. He eventually ended up making it, starting off by taking off all the shelves because they were slanting the wrong way - except for the first 2 which I'd done with out dear mother's "help". ... Wow. I think I really needed to get that out of my system. /rant
  16. Stormgate, you can find information about your areas here. The blue-ish one is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humid_continental_climate(Sorry, something with my internet is spastic lately. You'll have to copy paste URLs.) Your light grey is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tundra Your dark grey is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_cap_climate Haven't read them, so I don't know how technical or helpful they'll be, but I hope it helps.
  17. Godwin's Law is Cosmere. It's mathematical and precise. Although only Hitler would admit it.
  18. Copypasting landis, I'm just going to add a couple more in which Brandon has confirmed. The Liar of Partinel + The Lightweaver of Rens Dragonsteel Elantris series (Unless there's a massive time skip between Elantris and its sequels, or between the sequels for that matter, they'll all be first, or rather second after Dragonsteel) The Hope of Elantris (during Elantris 1) Emperor's Soul White Sand Aether of Night The Silence Divine (White Sand, Aether of Night, and the Silence Divine are more or less interchangeable) MASSIVE TIME SKIP The Eleventh Metal Mistborn: the original trilogy (Era 1) Warbreaker series (because Vivenna still needs to be alive, and Vasher needs to still be on Nalthis, so barring any 5th Heightening shenanigans, no massive timeskips here) Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell Stormlight 1-5 Wax and Wayne (Era 2, or 1.5, or whatever you want to call it) Stormlight 6-10 Mistborn: the modern trilogy (Era 3, or 2, or whatever) MASSIVE TIME SKIP Sixth of the Dusk Mistborn: the space trilogy (the last era)
  19. Probably. Here's where the new rules are for reference.
  20. ((Pfft. Epics. Wait till you see what we've got.)) ((P.S. We do have something awesome up our sleeves, right?))
  21. I'm the distant cousin that no one can remember the name of.
  22. Sorry to the person I am writing for... It's coming. I promise. But... your Christmas gift may turn into a Boxing Day gift. Really sorry about that. I will get it to you as soon as I possibly can. (Interestingly, it seems that there hasn't been 1 prose fiction handed out yet. Makes me feel... slightly better at my lateness.) P.S. Thanks Lark! That looks amazing!
  23. Uhhh... The Dark Alley seems to have caught on. In a subtle power of subterfuge, I discovered a profile feed message from Morzathoth to Voidus. Reads as follows. I seem to have blown my cover, though...
  24. 2035 at the earliest. Brandon loosely charted up to 2022. He still has the 3rd & 4th Mistborn Arcs (+ a potential 1940's Mistborn), the Dark One, the second Stormlight arc, 2 mystery series that he hasn't told us anything about, the Liar of Partinel + the Lightweaver of Rens, the 7 book Dragonsteel series, and whatever else he decides to throw in as well. And that's not counting the fact that he intends to write non-Cosmere series as well. In fact, even if he finishes off the 'main' Cosmere Arc, he'll still probably keep writing one-offs and spin-offs after that. He's that kind of writer.
