Random Stuff V - The Adminpire Strikes Back
Young Bard replied to Orlion Blight's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
And Christmas is done for me! My family is European, who (apparently) celebrate on the 24th. Also, I'm Australian, which has one of the earliest time zones in the world. With the combination of those, we must be one of the first people in the world to do the Christmas celebrations. That being said, it turned out fairly well this year. Venture, I feel sorry for you. I know just what sort of thing you're going through. Young Bard, at 12:30 on the morning of the 25th of December, signing out. P.S. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or Io Saturnalia to all of you who don't have a compulsive urge to beat out any festive spirit and strangle it to bloody pulp. ... Merry Christmas. -

Doctor Who and Sanderson Fans: I think it's just because you'll automatically see Sanderfans here, being his fansite. The vast majority of us will have seen it because it is one of the most influential sf/f shows (apart from maybe GoT, but this came a long way first.) Sorry, I know my sentence structure is horrible. I'm busy. I'll get around to fixing it if I can be bothered. -

Or flashbacks to explain a bit more of the predicament. Flashbacks are cool. -

Done. In other news, Honor Spren now has mod rights to the map. So even if I go on a hiatus, it should - theoretically - remain up to date. -

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, spoilers, and you.

That seems... mean. Were they just super tight about spoilers? -

Hmmm... When you quote something that has half a spoiler tag, and then place a spoiler tag in your post, weird stuff happens. -

Well, I made myself a silent promise that if I became uber-famous and was doing an AMA, instead of RAFO I would use: -

Missy? With a companion? Companion: What would happen if I stole your TARDIS? Missy: Oh, I imagine it would be quite painful... Companion: Really? Missy: For you, dearie. In all seriousness, I would feel sorry for whoever Missy's companion was. -
Just a note: The system doesn't read left to right, or top to bottom. I'll probably try to fix that someday, but in the meantime, it works like this. A solid arrow pointing from Book 1 to Book 2, regardless of direction, means that you must read that Book 1st. A dashed line from Book 1 to Book 2, regardless of direction, indicates that we recommend you read that you read Book 1 first, but is by no means compulsory. It's actually not. Elantris has a solid line with the Hope of Elantris, a short story Brandon published on his website here. Good point. I'll probably get around to editing this. Thanks! I think I have to disagree here. There are a couple reasons for this. Spoilers for the original Mistborn Trilogy: Well, we have actually suggested that you read Elantris before Stormlight, if you look carefully. Most of these decisions were based on Easter Eggs, however, not just opinions. Very minor WoK and Elantris Spoilers: Warbreaker is marked before Words of Radiance, for fairly obvious reasons. If this is just a matter of aesthetics, then the point is appreciated. We'll keep it in mind. Thanks!

So, just to clarify, the Guilds Secret Bases are located in... California? I mean, it's south of Oregon... I need to visit the Secret Base more often!

This really needs to be updated... I'll do it if no-one else will, but I probably won't get around to it until New Year. Should I post the new version here (and have Zas update the OP) or just start a new thread?
-
Hmmm... What harm can it possibly do?

Sorry if I'm being a dunce here, but I just have a few clarifications. Is this just confined to this thread? Or is it Alleyverse related? Or is it somehow a tie-in to all of the guilds on the Shard? And, if it's options 2 or 3, how do we avoid gatecrashing other guilds?

At a guess I'd say it's Chapter 52, although I don't actually have the book with me. Someone else can check to see whether I'm right. -
We do have pages like that, certainly. We have Sanderson Memes, and Sanderson Jokes. Anything else?

Well, it's not possible to fix that exact post. You could theoretically upvote another post that you wouldn't normally, but it can stress people out trying to work out what their post got downvoted for. (Or is that just me?) Anyway, talking about Garbage... -
For providing good advice on the advice thread, and being a nice person t have a discussion with, as well as being able to hold your own in a debate.

Well, it's quite likely the geography of Yolen has changed since the events of Dragonsteel. My current theory is First of the Sun, seeing as we only have the local name for it, not the Yolish name. I've also considered Threnody as a possibilty. (Yes, I know neither of those have any Shards, but he's never said that they never had shards in the past.)

Hmmm... I've had headcanon for a while that Yolen and another planet that we've been introduced to are actually the same. The star chart could go along way to confirming / destroying that theory.
