  1. Not useless, very useful. Just not for combat purposes. Nothing wrong with that.
  2. Dalinar's going to reveal the truth about what happened himself. Which will definitely affect Adolin and Dalinar's relationship but I don't think will drive him to Odium outright. And I think Adolin would accept punishment, he doesn't regret what he did exactly but he knows it was extrelegal, and I think he would consider being punished a fair trade off for Sadeas being dead.
  3. I think Adolin is incredibly unlikely to join Odium, he does have anger management issues, but they are not the primary driving force of his personality.
  4. I support Rlain bonding the Sibling. It'd be fantastic. Adolin will make some real tangible progress with healing Maya, but I don't think she'll be fully healed until book 5. I think Dalinar WILL get Plate, he manifested some weird glowy geometric stuff during the vision with Venli, which I think is proto-Plate. With regard to the singers invading Urithiru, if it happens Venli will be there and she will sort of struggle with herself, until a climatic moment when she decides to openly turn against Odium's forces.
  5. There were (or are) actually two non-human races on Yolen, dragons and the Sho Del. It would be cool to see a singer Ascend actually.
  6. We don't know much about inkspren in general, but you're right that Ivory doesn't seem like the type to be interested in that sort of thing. Some spren probably find the whole thing distasteful. Even Syl calls it "messy".
  7. Well Pattern is visible to everyone. Probably they will argue the spren out of the room. Though the Stormfather is more...omnipresent.
  8. The Almighty is Honor, Odium...is Odium.
  9. There's a theory that Sja-anat will end up as a fourth Bondsmith spren, though I don't know who she'd bond with currently.
  10. I would have said butterscotch candy for gloryspren.
  11. I don't think it does take an appreciable amount of effort just to look, the effort is in interpreting, which given how cryptic the Death Rattles are, Moelach doesn't help with.
  12. Hoid has a beef against Rayse/Odium, but other then that we don't really know what he's up to.
  13. The Syl and Kal moment was so sweet, though I don't know about people in general, but I don't read it as romantic. It's a sweet non-romantic kind of love.
  14. The Sibling seems to be the spren powering the fabrial functions of the city. Whether they are the 'spren of the city' or not is an open question.
  15. The Kholin family is just Extra. Every single one of them is extra as heck. Including the ones that married in. Except Gavinor I guess, but he's three.
  16. I suspect they were purpose created by Honor and/or Cultivation, probably via split off pieces of power rather than altering existing spren.
  17. I write Honor the Shard name like that because I treat it as a proper noun and spell it the way it's written in the book. Maybe I'm being weird.
  18. I agree. The joke is mildly amusing, but Shallan's actual reaction to Nightblood is more interesting.
  19. *facepalm* Cute. But I agree with the others, given Shallan's belief she is a 'monster', she'd totally die to Nightblood.
  20. Uh, he's seen talking to a Cryptic the epilogue and also we have WoB confirmation also. and also
  21. Hoid bonded the Cryptic that was originally bonding with Elohkar in the epilogue of OB.
  22. Yeah, Hoid doesn't count, as that was a spur of the moment thing instigated by Hoid himself. I would expect them to be very happy about it though, given Hoid's secrets.
  23. The inkspren are generally firmly against bonding. Ivory is basically a rebel at this point. The honorspren were against bonding for a long time, and Syl did disobey in order to run off and bond Kaladin, but some of them have reconsidered. The Cryptics are kinda weird, they figure any who bond will probably die, but also that it's worth it in order to study humans. The cultivationspren leaders (the Ring) asked Wyndle to bond Lift. Generally spren are leery about bonding because of all the spren that died in the Recreance, and the ones that are bonding are only doing so because Odium will kill everyone anyway if he wins. Basically.
  24. Moash will be Odium's Champion. I definitely expect a Maya revival by the end of Book 5. But I don't want to turn this thread into yet another argument about Adolin so I won't be discussing the details here. There's lots of other threads for that. Dalinar may ascend to Honor at the end of book 5, but that might also not happen until the back half. Or at all, but I think it's likely. T will die before the end of book 5.
  25. I don't think most people think that Dalinar's arc needs to end in him dying, just that it's possible for him to have a satisfying arc that ends in his death A fairly large number o people think Dalinar's arc is likely to end with him Ascending to reunite Honor's power (I am inclined towards this prediction myself). And, for the record I also think Kaladin's arc could have a satisfying end that involves him dying, and I think the people who are complaining about him having less screen time are missing the point of how the series is structured. This is in spite of Kaladin being a contender for my favourite character. I'm not currently able to hazard a guess as to how common that viewpoint is. For me it's not whether a character dies but how they die, even if I like a character very much and am sad they died, I can still feel satisfied if they die in a compelling and meaningful way. Lots of Brandon's deaths are like that. Like the already mentioned spoilers from Mistborn. I also don't know why you think people don't care about Dalinar, he's a very well-liked character, especially post OB, based on what I have observed.
