  1. That would be cool, but given Hoid's avoidance of violence, I think I'd rather see Zahel bond a spren and do some damage.
  2. Yes. That was what I was trying to ask. Thank you
  3. I was thinking about the way Brandon qualified his answer to this question with the reference to the changing 12 tribes of Israel. So I started looking at other WoB regarding Harmony and found this Does this mean that somehow there is a 'new' shard, now that Ruin and Preservation are combined into one shard, Harmony, now? Edit: I'm really bad at writing my thoughts out and I end up leaving a lot out. My thought was there were 16 original shards. Two, R & P, got merged into one, Harmony, making the total 15. However, because of the 12 tribes quote, I was wondering if another shard was created in or after that to bring the total back up to 16.
  4. That's actually a common side-effect of healing abilities in fictional stories. In Captain America: First Avengers, after his treatment, Steve Rodgers can't get drunk. In Heroes, Claire Bennet drinks 20 shots without feeling the effects and pretends to be drunk to hide her ability. But having the conversion rate set would be great! Maybe 1 breath could sustain 60 minutes of surgebinding....
  5. Too bad we don't have Connection medallions so we could all understand each other....or we need Dalinar's Bondsmithing surge.
  6. All it takes is one little girl climbing a wall
  7. He needs Nyneave following him around pulling her braid and complaining that no one needs shardplate but stout Two Rivers woolen stockings should be good enough.
  8. Shoot! I am the worst.....I'm sorry. I'll edit that
  9. I'm sorry. I made a stupid mistake.
  10. I think Navani will bond the Sibling and Rlain will bond NIghtwatcher to become the other two bondsmiths, but I don't think they'll both happen in Book 4. I think one will, and the other will be book 5, but I can't guess which. Adolin will revive Maya to become an Edgedancer. I like the idea of Rysn becoming a Willshaper. I think there will be at least two dozen 'random' radiants popping up and I think we'll see quite a few people get their armor.
  11. Be sword. I think that is the simplest command that has the least chance of not going awry. I think commands to "be" instead of "do" are safer in that the wielder can still control the actions.
  12. Peter says there is a reason Rlain was missing for the last part of OB, Here. I think he is being active, off screen for now.
  13. If Rlain becomes a bondsmith, I imagine it would be from bonding the Nightwatcher and not the Sibling. His spanning between Parsh and Humans seems to fit with the second ideal, "I will unite instead of divide. I will bring men together." (Maybe change men to something else). I could see that happening. Also, the boon/curse aspect of the Nightwatcher seems like it could play an interesting part of bonding a Listener. (And I still hold to the theory that Navani is going to bond the Sibling, so I refuse to think of anyone else doing it ).
  14. 1. How well do you know your friends and family? How well do they know you? How well do we even know ourselves? How much does it matter? 2. How could small changes to your past have changed you in dramatic ways? Butterfly effect, 3. Why did Gaotona compromise his beliefs about soul forging to help create a forgery of the emperor? Have you ever compromised a belief to help a friend or loved one? 4. If you could, what would be the first thing you would stamp, what change would you make to it, and why?
  15. I like the idea of Navani bonding the Sibling. If we get a third Bondsmith for the Nightwatcher, my hope would be for Rysn. It would be a great arc for her to gain 'a position of power.'
  16. Only if she'd broken a law and Nale had received authority to execute justice. Both seem unlikely.
  17. I think the barriers to getting into a situation where you could even attempt it are too difficult for 99.9% of the Cosmere. 1. Get a dead blade from Roshar. They don't grow on trees. 2. Find a perpindicularity or an Elsecaller to get into the Cognative Realm. 3. Find passage to Sel. Probably the most dangerous place in the Cognative Realm. 4. Find another perpidicularity to get back into the Physical Realm. 5. Find a forger of significant skill. 6. The forger would have to know enough about the blade's spren to actually re-write a history. I don't see how this would be possible, unless the gem recording in Urithiru have some very detailed stories.
  18. In some sense, yes, but in others not so much. Honor as in fulfilling obligations and keeping commitments is fairly objective. But Honor can also be holding something in high-esteem or having privilege. And those could be very subjective. Who do you hold in high-esteem or give privilege to, and why?
  19. There's this old WoB. The only problem is, he mentions working kandra and koloss into Hemalurgy, but then only talks about using non-allomantic/feruchimacal spikes on koloss, not kandra. But it seems to me that it would be the same. source
  20. So if you're fairly consistent you can get Hoid, Jasnah, Dalinar, or Kaladin. If you mix your answers between the four, you get Shallan, because of the DID. How many cremlings does it take to screw in a sphere bulb? Only two, but don't ask me how they got in there. (I got Shallan)
  21. I also think that "Our species were the original voidbringers" doesn't seem like a strong enough motive for the Recreance. Learning that their God, Honor, killed, or was part of what split, the real God seems more reasonable to me. I'm looking forward to the backstory of Roshar almost as much as the ongoing story.
  22. I think it's completely sarcastic. I could see myself saying something like that if I was in a similar conversation. I use self-deprecating humor a lot.
  23. Could two (or more) Radiants work together to create long-distance weapons? For example, Kaladin has Syl turn into a Shardbow and Shallan has Pattern turn into an Shardarrow?

I did a quick skim and search through those threads and I had a thought that I don't think has been brought up: The reason Adolin treats his sword the way he does. He was trained by Zahel/Vasher, one of the only people on Roshar who knew what shardblades actually were. Vasher and Shashara knew about shardblades being sentient spren and used that knowledge to help create Nightblood. I don't know if he thought that training Adolin to treat his sword like he does would help create a new Nahel bond. But I think Zahel hoped something more than swordsmanship would be developed.
  25. We haven't seen much of real Knights Radiant armor, only left-overs. Even if an active Knights armor has similar limits, I bet Kaladin could make a Syl-shield that would take plenty of coins or bullets. And isn't there some WoB about using spren as long-distance weapons?
