  1. I'd say I enjoyed about 80% of it, really disliked about 10% of it, and 10% was ok. I'd recommend it for anyone who enjoys epic fantasy and has a lot of time to read. There are unlikable characters in the series, but that makes it more real. Typically, I read as an escape from the real world, and this series is so immersive it is easy to escape into.
  2. I also always imagine Koloss with big pot bellies.
  3. I always see Rock in my head as Hawaiian. I agree with those that see Inquisitors as super-tall bodybuilders. Even Marsh gained a few feet in my mind. Once I learned Steris was on spectrum, I pictured her as Abed from Community, with a wig on. And now I can't let go of that image.
  4. It seems like it would work, in theory. The lure would be the hard part. IIRC, the perfectness of the gem was a big factor in getting Nergaoul in the gem.
  5. When I read this quote (and the rest of the thread), I thought of the prison in TES that was designed to specifically hold forgers. The reason it worked so well, was that it was difficult to 'convince' the prison it was a whole instead of individual pieces with their own identities. So much of Cosmere magic relies on identity. Both how the individual sees itself and is seen by others. It would be much more difficult, though I imagine not impossible, to Awaken a chimeric construction than a Frankenstein's monster type construction. And that would be more difficult than a dead body that used to be an individual. This makes me wonder if the Stone warrior army would 'work' better if each had an stone brain Back to the original question. I would think it is possible to give breath to an arm severed by a shardblade, but I imagine it would heal the arm and make it a part of the individual again.
  6. Also, there are a handful of Shardblades that aren't dead. Syl, Pattern, Wyndle, Glys, Ivory, etc. and bound to be plenty more arriving in future books.
  7. I think a big clue that hasn't been discussed much is the fact that for now, he can only remember the first part of their relationship. I have a couple ideas of why this could happen. 1. Although I wasn't a fan of the "Navani is his wife now" theory, I think this is a good indicator it might be correct. As his relationship with Navani progresses, his memories of Evi will fill in. 2. Maybe for whatever reasons; his love life, his world-saving responsabilities, his Nahel bond, etc. he will no longer be pained by the earlier memories of Evi. When more memories won't pain him anymore, they'll return.
  8. I like the theory that Honor's Investiture has replaced Cultivation's Investiture.
  9. Vasher/Zahel?
  10. I'm an organ donor because I want to do some good even after I die. However, my stance might change if I continued to feel pain while my liver is being used... I think that is what it really depends on, if the spren are really in pain. It could be an echo of their screams that only Radiants here. Or maybe only when they are held by Radiants do the spren become not-quite-dead enough to scream. Maybe muggles, who can't hold stormlight, can't bring the spren close enough to life to scream. Syl and Stormfather have been clear on their view. I have a vague memory of Pattern saying something about them, but I can't remember when or what he said. As a cryptic, it seems he'd be logical enough to be ok with using them. Any other spren voiced an opinion on dead blades?
  11. That is very interesting. Isn't there another WoB that indicates that some super-spren can bond more than one person? Is that why the Bondsmith number is 3 but not necessarily set at three? The Bond-spren can have multiple KR but don't like to. Stormfather doesn't even seem to really like having one
  12. I'm thinking it is Eshonai. People will be threatened that a Parshman, Parshendi, Voidbringer, can write at all and wrote a book. So most don't think it should exist. Parshendi/Voidbringers could be considered 'godless heretics.' by humans. People thought she fell at the end of the battle. I'm guessing something happened between all the storms, wearing shardplate, falling in the chasm, etc. that she was able to overcome the voidspren and saw into Shadesmar. The book she writes will certainly have been brewing since her explorations in her youth. I think we're supposed to assume it's Jasnah, but there will be the twist that Brandon loves to pull.
