Very informative and enjoyable. Beware the Mistborn Llamas! Ignore the cookies! Keep your imagination! Good messages all around. Fifteen out of seventeen crepes. -

Your first & favourite Sanderson novel
Curiosity replied to Young Bard's topic in General Brandon Discussion
You want me to pick a favorite? I'm not sure I can do that. For context, though, I first read Alcatraz and my favorite may be Alcatraz, Elantris, The Rithmatist, Way of Kings, or the Emperor's Soul. -
Perhaps embedded metals. I was interested to find that the steel bubble is a result of Wax being a Savant.

I'm not in Europe, but I play fairly casually. Mestiv, you're impressive if you've reached rank 11. I've never known anyone who got higher than 15. Congrats!

Does the man actually have a life at that point that he is fire? Or does he realize, "I should have been stick after all!"?

He was actually looking for a way to make heavy water without radiation. Hard water has high concentrations of calcium and other metals and is relatively easy to purify through chemical means. Heavy water is water that uses deuterium instead of hydrogen-1. Deuterium is useful in fusion, since it already provides a proton and neutron to make helium-4 when paired with another deuterium atom. (Deuterium is hydrogen with 1 proton and 1 neutron in the nucleus, as opposed to just 1 proton.) This doesn't negate your point, Quiver, but I did want to clarify how much the hint give.

The Lonely Chatterboxes Club
Curiosity replied to Mistrunner's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
THIS. When I'm tired, I do it to people who are actually in the room, but who are participating in different conversations. And then people ask me if I'm all right when I actually let a couple of words of the conversation leak out. I just need my sleep. AND THIS! I definitely do this. 95% of the time, the real conversation never happens.- 80 replies

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Curiosity replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Dragonsteel (Brandon's sword) is now stuck through your kitchen table. And the police are looking for whoever stole it. I wish for an extra hour every day. -
I would also consider the probability that a person's age-related Connections are not necessarily the same as a good portion of their health-related Connections. Simply storing one can suppress the "poor health because you're a millennium old" Connections much easier using atium and gold than the "goodness, your birth thread reaches back 1,000 years to Terris? You should be dead!" Connections. This makes me wonder if time travel is possible through the Spiritual Realm...

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)

Granted. The Lord of the Rings never existed. I wish to play the part of Master Kilvin (along with growing the prerequisite beard) in the TV adaptation of the Kingkiller Chronicles. -
My preferred method of greater understanding of the Cosmere (once aware) is to go to the Coppermind and click through all of the links in the footnotes. Then I just read all of the signing reports and absorb copious amounts of tidbits and RAFOs. Welcome!

This is an interesting conversation about Compounding. Anyone see this? I think that some of you may have actually commented on it already, but it's relatively Realmatically detailed, so I wanted to put it here.

I believe that there is a WoB somewhere that states that any amount of Investiture, no matter how small, will eventually change a personality over time.* I can't find it anywhere, though. That being said, I think that this is fairly sound theory. Whether the Investiture is from Preservation or not, I'm not so sure, but it seems likely.

This is the "magic is science is magic" thing. The magic can be understood, but this necessitates reevaluating what we think of the magic every so often. We more often see scholars of a magic than we see people extremely and mysteriously proficient at it, knowing all the mysteries of the universe. Everybody's limited, even Shards.

His wife's sword is named Lightsong and his is named Dragonsteel. He mentioned it somewhere in the annotations.
