  1. You get a pewter mochacchino from modern Scadrial! *inserts reversal sphere*
  2. Are you thinking of the Sands of Rashid?
  3. You get crem-flavored breakfast cereal! *inserts the set of all sets that does not contain itself*
  4. Are Twinbork "perks" more subtle than things like Shallan's Memories because they're an intersection between a Shard's magic system and an "equilibrium" system (Allomancy and Feruchemy) instead of an intersection between two Shards' own systems? (Surgebinding appears to be a mixture of Honor and Cultivation.) What kind of perks did the Lord Ruler get from being both Mistborn and Full Feruchemist? (Probably RAFO bait for Bands of Mourning.)
  5. You get a polaroid of Kredik Shaw! *inserts Horneater stew*
  6. SoS
  7. Is it possible that some surges are of Honor and some are of Cultivation, so that it is more of a mishmash?
  8. "Endosymbiosis," recalled Jack , "features harmonious workings." RAFO
  9. Kelsier. I don't care for Miles overmuch. This way, Kell might face Marsh later down the line.
  10. You get a parrot back from the dead! *inserts Pathian earring*
  11. No, Joe: 5 to 2. Joel's the character I most identify with out of Sanderson's works.
  12. Thank you all! I'm very surprised to get three responses. I've heard this explained several times before, but I was building probability trees and confusing myself in order to prove it to someone else, which I couldn't do this time around without building a spreadsheet and experimentally testing it. Thanks! I just learned that the the 17th Shard is really cool! Again.
  13. You get the winds! *inserts cheese*
  14. DIES IST MEINE WASSERMELONE! MEINE! I learned that the Monty Hall problem is worse than I thought. I think it's only scientifically provable that switching is better. I can't work out a mathematical proof that works. Help! Unless sticking with your original choice is actually better somehow in spite of all I've heard?
  15. Nonsense! You have 139 upvotes, been here for a month (officially), and have showed initiative in joining the Oregon RP. Your post to rep ratio is greater than 1 (impressive!) and you have managed to make a member title that, when Googled, manages to show a Question page within the first page of results (also impressive). Having read through most of your posts, you seem thoughtful, considerate, and compassionate, with a neat sense of humor. (This, along with my own experience, leads me to believe that INTJ's may simply be slower to understand how to work with people, not always frustrated by affection and/or empathy.) I understand your reluctance to have people comment on you since you've been here relatively recently, but the very fact that you are posting in this thread says something. I hope you stick around for a good while!
  16. Kaladin deserves a break. I'm voting Megan.
  17. I thought Zinc was Rioting and Soothing was Brass, since Soothing is Pushing on emotions, which is the property of an Alloy. Love the Tin icon. Perhaps the Brass icon should have a smooth pond surface or something like that? Whatever it should be should have relatively dull colors. I would actually depict a riot for Zinc, with flames, fists, and bright colors. I don't know if that works, but it would be interesting.
  18. I am intrigued! A few notes: Given the militaristic nature of the Abbey would they really allow conversation between girls at a small, exclusive training session? I find it difficult to picture, especially because of the insulting nature of the remarks exchanged. I really liked Amelia's deduction section. It might be a tad long, but in reality, this is how she perceives it and it obviously engages her (if I understood her character correctly), so it wouldn't seem long to her. That being said, I would streamline it so that there wouldn't be too many other extraneous remarks. This should be more of her thoughts, fewer of her comments (if that makes sense). Then it will feel like the rush of discovery and beginning to master something. Note on the expression "as if the life of the woods was bottled up and holding its breath". It seems somewhat awkward. Can something be bottled up and holding its breath? I think that extending the first metaphor might be better. Why would she reveal the fact that she has the journal? I hope that you will continue working on this! It has caught my interest, but I don't know if I'll have time to regularly respond. I'll stop by when I can! Keep writing!
  19. Protists are mainly single-celled. However, this means that they really can't attack a bacterium-sized organism, especially since eukaryotic cells run roughly 2-1000x the size of prokaryotic cells. I think that a protist "hijacking" lumuoles is a better idea. Since multicellular lifeforms often have lumuole symbionts, it would make sense that there would be pathogens that would take advantage of them. Maybe they can send chemical signals that change the lumuole's temperament or something, so that the power is used against the host organism and changes it to be a more ideal habitat for the parasite.
  20. You get a RAFO card! *inserts ninja*
  21. You get a wanted poster of creepy fractal heads! *inserts duralumin vial*
  22. Does anyone find it slightly unnerving that Brandon was handing out cookies?
  23. Definitely Vasher on all accounts. Dilaf is not my favorite character by a long shot. Vasher is conflicted, tired, and scholarly.
  24. You get a stick! *inserts aluminum hat*
  25. You get an Oathstone! *inserts porridge-brick metaphor*
