  1. ILuvHats is correct. Elantris 2&3 have priority over Warbreaker 2. The last 3 State of the Sanderson's support this. There was also a mention(not that I can find it) about Elantris 2&3 having to be done before Mistbron Era 3 too because of "Cosmere reasons."
  2. 1) All Investiture got assigned to one of the Shards during the Shattering. There is no "of Adonalsium" anymore, so to speak. The second the Shattering happened, they'd have become "of H, C or O." 2) Is the Thrill a positive emotion? That's our only example of "kind-of" co-opted among the currently known Unmade. Technically, yes. Whether that actually means anything is still unknown. If Odium splintered off his power and that power gained sentience, it would be both a Splinter and a Spren. If Odium shoved enough of his power into a preexisting Spren for it to be classified as a Splinter, then it would be both a Splinter and a Spren. Spoiler Tag b/c Tangent.
  3. The current understanding was: ◘ Unkeyed Metalmind - can be tapped into by anyone with that power. ◙ Unsealed Metalmind - can be tapped into by anyone. Under that logic, "Unkeyed" Nicrosilminds could only be tapped into by Soulbearers, while the Nicrosil portion of "Unsealed" Medallions can be tapped into by anyone, regardless of their magical powers or lack thereof. Basically, we all agree here: But Isilel is also saying this: For [Medallions] to work, it has to be "Unsealed," or else only Soulbearers could tap the Nicrosilmind in it, which would be rather pointless.
  4. Devil's Advocate(not that I really care which one he is): You can make a person angry by Rioting their anger(what you think Passion would do). You can make a person angry by Soothing everything but anger(what Odium seems to do). It's not entirely relevant, but intense Passion, intense Hatred, they aren't all that different. You end up at the same place: so focused on something, be it Adolin's passion for Shardblades, or Moash's hatred for Elhokar, or our own enthrallment when reading Brandon's books, that we don't(or can't) focus on other things in the world around us or even in our own minds. That state of singular focus is a factor of the intensity of what we're feeling. What we're actually feeling, what we feel that way about, it's irrelevant. The more engaged you are in what's going on, the harder it is to focus on something else. That's not unique to hatred. Hate is just... longer-term(usually), and that starts to smother everything else, while most other intense emotions(or the event/person they are tied to) generally subside quick enough that everything else can go back to normal, which is where "hatred consumes" comes from. It's the best known example, because it's the emotion most conducive to longer periods of intensity. If a person were to get enthralled in reading Mistborn Era 1, they might feel a little drained by the end of it, but they could rebound fairly quickly. If someone was enthralled enough to read the entirety of Stormlight Archives or Wheel of Time in one sitting, that feeling of "Well, now what?" is gonna hit them pretty hard when they finish. Everything else gets shoved further and further to the wayside the longer that intense focus lasts(be it a focus on revenge, on the narrative, on physical training, even on the Intent of your Shard, like what happened to Ati).
  5. They are light for their size. The things are probably just as heavy as their standard counterparts. (I rescind my second statement. Forgot about that last line.) They shouldn't be that much lighter though @The Forgetful Archivist, as training with a properly weighted sword is important. Lighteyes are trained to be able to take up a Shardblade at a moments notice, and you can't do that if the weight balance is vastly different. Too much over/underswing.
  6. We don't know enough about hacking magic systems to answer that question. This could be a thing that's hard to figure out, but easy to do once you know. This could actually be hard to do, even if you know what you're doing. We just don't know
  7. Assuming I understand what you are asking: No. Having magical abilities is a coded part of your Spiritweb. It's not "Usable Investiture," so to speak. The fuel for those abilities is usable, for Nightblood. For example: Vasher can awaken both before, during, and after using Nightblood. Nightblood consumes the Breath he has, so awakening isn't in his best interests, but he can do it. Using Nightblood doesn't take someone's abilities from them.
  8. If we use the "Investiture that gained Sentience" theory, the power may not have thought it could be "killed" like normal people(which was technically true), so it may have just let them try it. Adonalsium may have been curious what they were doing and didn't react/realize until it was too late. It's not like there were any examples of what "killing a god" looked like to compare with. Adonalsium may have engineered the situation for reasons unknown. Heck, Adonalsium may have simply been off-planet doing stuff(like creating Roshar) and got back to Yolen at the last moment. There are a lot of possibilities.
  9. I think the answer is yes. And I think the reason normal Spren don't escape but an Unmade might has to do with Sentience. (I have no evidence for that yet, but it makes sense) Bigger Gems can hold more Stormlight. It stands to reason that a bigger Gem could hold a bigger Spren. It doesn't actually say that. Per the Notebook: The Cognitive Realm of Sel(which is 1.5 times as big as Earth) isn't big enough to contain two Shards. Half of that(b/c 2 Shards) is 0.75 times the size of Earth. I don't think they have any Gems lying around big enough to contain that much power. As such, I'm gonna say it's not feasible. (I am not saying such an action is not possible though. Be aware of that distinction)
  10. Logically, Honor's Splintering would have created a number of Spren, like what happened with D&D. What type of Spren came to be is unknown.
  11. You should change the title to Book 4 Plotlines. Calling it "Part 4" gives a different feel, since the books are split into parts. I agree with this. We need more variety to our incoming Radiants. I like several of your suggestions, but as for the others, I don't really know what I want to see going forward.
  12. Uh... give me a sec. Khriss only says size in both examples. We're fairly certain it's diameter(as Calderis just said), but it's not explicitly stated to my knowledge
  13. Size. Per Arcanum Unbounded, Sel is 1.5 times the Cosmere Standard, which is Yolen/Scadrial/Earth.
  14. Ah, so that's your issue with it. Fair enough, I guess. Maybe that's why Pop-Country is taking off as a genre... I'm not a big fan of acoustic myself, but it's a lot less overpowering than the instrumentals on some of the EDM tracks of late. A solid beat is nice, but I like being able to hear the singer too.
  15. As with all genres, I'd say it depends on the song. I've found some good nostalgia songs from a pretty varied cast of genres, country included.
  16. I got involved with Bionicle midway through it's run. C.A Hapka's books(the ones that led up to the 1st movie) were in my elementary school's library, and on it went from there. My first sets were the Inika. Toy-wise, my favorite would probably be.. Ehlek. Story-wise, it's be Teridax. The craftiness, the master plan aspect, they just.. struck a chord with me. (I'd consider Teridax as the point where I reached the "liking Villains better" phase of boyhood )
  17. It's a matter of choice whether he gets stuck too.
  18. I'm not sure if even he can pull on Nightblood. The Bands aren't even remotely as Invested as Nightblood, and they have enough power in them to make their bearer leak mist, something we only see when R&P were directly fueling Marsh and Elend. Theoretically, TLR's power would be limited to that level as well. Mists are a form of Shardic Power, so leaking Mist seems like the point where you are leaking excess power. Although, if he Duralumin Pulls with all that Nicrosil Energy...
  19. I'd like to talk to you about Aluminum. The Pool is one state of Shardic Power, and the Dor is another, so this should work. Heat resistance is gonna be a big pain, but I'm sure there's a way around that. (Liquid Cooling the Dor, that'll go swimmingly ) The mental image for this is wonderful. It must be done! I still don't think you can "portal" with Aon Tia. To me, it's a one and done. That said, you can use Tia Plates from the geostationary station and the ground, since the distance and direction shouldn't change. That... might be from me, indirectly. We have "far earlier(than HoA). It's quite... It's not thousands" and I pulled 1,400 as a number to fit that criteria. I felt Brandon would've said Centuries/Hundreds if it was under 1K(like he does in this WoB), and anything 1,500+ would round up to thousands(plural), so I picked something in-between. Nothing else with the "chronology" tag on Arcanum gives any additional details though, but your point about a lot of time passing is still valid.
  20. Definition 1 is the only one that actually mentions affecting how something progresses, and that's used as an example. The other three are variations on what I said; removing something unnecessary. The act of pruning is removing things you deem as unnecessary. The purpose of that pruning is where how it progresses comes in(sometimes), but the "why" is not necessary to define pruning. See above. Fair enough. But "suddenly losing a huge part of who he was"? Even though you're pretty much right, you sound like a hypocrite, since you've dismissed me for trying to use something like that as an example before. It actually does. He forged himself into that man, because and only because he had the menories taken away. If they werent taken away he wouldnt be that person.. [...] What your saying is basically if they found hitler today, and he spent the last 70 years working with disadvantaged kids in argentina it makes up for what he did, no it doesn't. He still is who he was and deserves to be punished for who he was regardless of who he became. It really looks like you are ignoring what I'm saying sometimes. I know you probably aren't doing that, but I'm starting to get that vibe from you again. And is the Dalinar who left the Nightwatcher's Den the exact same person as he was just before he began regaining his memories? No, he isn't, because you are, yet again, ignoring the fact that people change over time. Man devotes many years of his life to war and combat. Man gets struck by lightning(as one example) in foreign country, suffers head trauma, and loses large swaths of memories of his past, including most of the bloodshed. Man starts living the quiet life while recovering, settles down and starts a family. Many years later, the man's country gets invaded, the man sees a bloody battle and is horrified by it. War goes on and the man sees many more bloodbaths. Man decides to devote himself to preaching peace because "nothing could be worth this." Is the man who he is now because of that memory loss? Technically, yes. Is it possible for this change to happen in people who have not lost their memories? Yes. The pathway that Dalinar's life took after losing those chunks of his past was decided by Dalinar. The man in my example didn't suddenly become a pacifist because of the memory loss. That decision was his own. I could rewrite the example with the man to show it without memory loss: How many survivors of WWI do you think abandoned war entirely in the face of the horrors of chemical warfare? They didn't lose a chunk of who they were like Dalinar, but they made a massive 180 anyway. Had Dalinar encountered an experience that shook him to the core like that, then he could have become the man he currently is without the memory loss.
  21. That's an... interesting way of putting it. Your idea sounds reasonable, but as much as I want to support it, I'm not sure I want even more complexity to Hemalurgy. It's bad enough as it is.
  22. I'm aware that they can become Blades too(we have a WoB saying as much). The usage of the word "didn't" though... Had he said they "normally couldn't/didn't normally have blades," then I might be less hesitant. But on its own, "didn't" implies a little more certainty to it, which is why I don't think they have had blades at all in the past.
  23. Where do we know this from? That sounds right, but I'm struggling to remember why... Resistance to Emotional Allomancy. Though, would TLR have allowed them that? Resistance to getting taken over by others is resistance to being taken over by him too. Koloss control works just as well with Soothing as it does Rioting, and who would they even be Rioting in most situations? Some of them might have double Brass and no Zinc(stronger soothing could work for controlling Koloss, perhaps.) It'd still be 6 spikes for the base powers, so it's not that much of a big deal, but it's something I just thought of.
