The opening credits will make sure to state "all stunts are real. all deaths are real. remember, this could be you", then in the credits scenes you see like 3 or 4 people playing each part, with their time and form of death. Out of the whole cast, you will see like two names that survived the whole filming.

Yeah but we are just missing two things. First a giant american flag flashed on the screen every 2 seconds, and second "FREEDOM", theeeeeen it'll be fully Michael Bay.

That may very well be the world of steelheart. I mean consider, every epic described (except I think Prof and Conflux), are decked out physically. If I recall correctly both Deathpoint and Steelhearts chest's were practically bursting from their clothes. Maybe Steelheart wouldn't have had to worry as much about people fearing him if he flashed a little skin. In fact maybe people heard the name of the red star incorrectly. It is not "the calamity" it is "the cleavage". edit: given that tone is sometimes difficult to carry over into the written word, all above is said satirical naturally lol.

Oh wow lol, that is what I meant. Guess my mind was elsewhere when i posted that. Thanks! lol

Not necessarily. Szeth could not use stormlight(more along the lines of more difficult but still) on someone in shardplate, and stormlight doesn't need to affect metal. Further, someone just needs a band of aluminum around their head not to be affected by emotional allomancy. So with that line of reasoning, just a coat of aluminum could potentially make a body of metal allomantically immune, or VERY difficult to "play" with.

hmmmm, could you soulcast the body as metal, and then the armor as aluminum, and then awaken the body like a lifeless, while awakening the armor to mimic the lifeless's actions? I know I am making things needlessly complicated, but it also helps me learn more about the magic system.

Would it be possible to soulcast a outter shell of aluminum with an inner core of "name that metal"? Then you have the core strength of the more powerful metal, but also the magic resistant properties of aluminum. Not sure if you could soulcast a body in such a fashion, but if so, that would be the way I would go

Technically there is a better Power Girl costume, it's Supergirl (though the short skirt i never thought was necessary). Power Girl is an alternate reality version of Supergirl, though I never did understand why another reality equates to over-sexualized cleavage. The supposed excuse (that she chose the "absence" of a symbol) was even more ridiculous. Sorry mini nerd rant. edit:oh! and apparently an alternate reality also means your chest grows 10 times in size. Total logic lol

Correction, GIANT METAL PINBALL, then build a giant pinball machine and run around in it. -
nah, i think he would be PISSED. the main character (in his mind), who espoused everything steelheart represents (Zod), got killed by a peace loving hippie? never!

Well in a way it is Brandon's own fault lol. I believe he based it on acupuncture which in and of itself is a fascinating art as well. By extension one must wonder, if this is true, then if you spike a child from multiple adults, what kind of affect would that have on the child's physical as well as mental maturity? -
This isn't a power, but put a picture of a kandra with a crystal body on the wall, then give the kids pins and play "spike the kandra". Whoever spikes the blessings in the right places first wins!

I wonder if Steelheart when he came to power banned all movies and comic books associated with Superman. Don't want the rabble getting any ideas that might result in them not fearing him enough, especially when they seem to use superman's crest as their symbol.
-
fortuity, because even his powers of precognition could not prevent viewing the travesty that were those movies.

Lol yep, would it spurt when it sped up, so while your holding the hose, it randomly stops to a trickle, and then shoots out smacking you in the face. Or would it mist, or even just be a steady slow trickle.

So going on the affected or not affected premise, if i took a garden hose, and turned the water pressure on. Then walked till the hose was extended at its full, and pulled the trigger on the hose resulting in water flowing through the tube from its source to out the spray, and THEN put up a bubble, would the ENTIRE hose all the way back to the source be included since it is touching the bubble?

Thanks Kurkistan. Ironically the half in half out issue literally just came up a few minutes ago in another thread and Shaggai mentioned what you said. Having heard none of this, I was confused and two seconds later stumbled across your post. My only issue with all of this, and this has to do with what Brandon stated, not with any of what you posited, and I hope you can help/answer is the excerpt from the new Shadows of Self book. This is an excerpt open to any to read, but just in case I will put it in spoilers below: Is there something I am missing? You clearly understand this far more than I do, so any help is appreciated

The most devastating shard weapons
Pathfinder replied to Fifth of Daybreak's topic in Stormlight Archive
To take it even a step further, do like in one of the Sword of Truth novels where they used magic to grind up glass to sharp grains and cast it amongst the enemy. So imagine a shardblade cloud resulting in countless tiny cuts covering your body all at once. Shardplate would be ineffectual because there are still eye slits......Of course this would not be possible, but if it could....... -
"Real Life" Allomancy or How the second Trilogy might work
Pathfinder replied to Pathfinder's topic in Mistborn
Could you elaborate or provide links so I can better understand? I do know a lot of the power systems function on how the user cognitively views themselves, like in healing, but I haven't read anything regarding the bubbles. edit: Kurkstan posted a rather informative thread on the time bubbles covering what you mentioned so I understand what you mean now. I gave an example of a situation that actually disputes what Brandon stated, but hopefully Kurk can enlighten me as to why the example still works, rather than it potentially being an oversight of Brandon's in the new Shadows of Self. edit2: so I recalled the scene incorrectly. So yeah at this point in time, no halvsies lol. -
"Real Life" Allomancy or How the second Trilogy might work
Pathfinder replied to Pathfinder's topic in Mistborn
Hmmm, then that would be an interesting means in which to employ it in combat. If Wayne studied the limit to the radius of his bubble, and practiced enough, he could potentially pop up the bubble during battle bisecting opponents for brief bursts. Assuming said opponent is standing, and he gained a decent proficiency at it, he could bisect an opponent vertically, separating the brain in half and at the very least stun him or her. -
"Real Life" Allomancy or How the second Trilogy might work
Pathfinder replied to Pathfinder's topic in Mistborn
Random thought, if you were outside a cadmium bubble, and the person stood on lets say a building, and poured water in a relatively steady stream, how would it look when it came out of the bubble? Would it sputter or mist? Also I wonder what would happen if you held a person half in/ half out in any of those bubbles. Not just pass through, but hold them there part of the way through and sustain the bubble -
It would make him darkeyes. I forget the bridgeman's name but there was one that claimed to have dark violet eyes, and I THINK Kal even admitted in the right light you could kind of see it. So having violet eyes were not enough to be lighteyes, it had to be LIGHT violet

the most useless uses for useful powers
Pathfinder replied to king of nowhere's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Ok so this has lead to a disquieting line of reasoning for me. If a hemalurgic spike can give you the strength of another person, then if you spiked an adult to charge a spike, and then gave the charged spike to a child, would you have an exponential yield more so than an adult to another adult?
