  1. Roses are Red Violets are Blue If you're a fat man the unmade will kill you
  2. I'm with you. Especially since Adolin doesn't know about Shallan's split personality/insanity thing going on, and since this same issue also caused a ton of problems in the last book, he was definitely right to throw it out there once he noticed that Shallan didn't know.
  3. I don't think so. I'm pretty Sure those stormstriders are also unmade. Dalinar saw one in his flashback, and Kaladin and Shallan saw a couple heading towards Narak while they were in the chasms.
  4. Yeah, looks like you're right. I just forgot the details. Still, I'm curious to see how this ends up going.
  5. What if it's both a voidspren and a radiantspren? One of the unmade is Sja-Anat, and was implied to be able to somehow corrupt radiantspren (they started acting weirdly after being touched by Sja-Anat, though I don't think the extent of corruption was ever said). Could this spren be a corrupted stoneward-spren?
  6. I've been pushing unmade-in-a-box basically since WoR came out
  7. Technomancer Stonewards. Iron Man on Roshar is OP
  8. Well, we all know the 4th truth will be her finally accepting that she is a stick
  9. I'm still hoping for technomancer stonewards, so probably that
  10. I'm just glad Roshar doesn't have internet then, because you know there would be a shardblade named "Swordy McSwordface" Imagine explaining that to your kids
  11. No, I didn't. I guess not-so-great minds think alike I do wonder exactly what would happen to Nightblood, though. It would definitely be weird.
  12. I've said this before, and I'll say it again, probably. Nightblood's going to eat Odium at the end of Stormlight Archive
  13. Shallan describes him as brilliant, I find it hard to imagine Jasnah would get a different impression. And the only reason he's not an stereotypical intellectual is because he was born a darkeyes, which I doubt would be much of an issue as far as Jasnah's impression goes.
  14. It's almost definitely a Thunderclast, so no
  15. She'd probably be ecstatic to meet an intellectual equal who doesn't see her as a romantic interest, imo
  16. That's not a thunderclast, that's clearly a Yugioh card
  17. QUOTATIONS ARE EEEEEEEEVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLL!!!! I will kill you until you die from it! -Nightblood (probably)
  18. No, it's not supposed to be. We're not sure exactly what plate is made of, but it's likely either some sort of crystallized Stormlight or a bunch of lesser spren joining up. I think the lesser spren idea is closer to the correct theory because that would be a better way to set up the differences between living and dead shardplate. Szeth mentions that he couldn't wear shardplate because it interfered with the windrunner lashings, and when Kaladin used the helmet as a glove in the arena, it sucked the stormlight out of him to repair itself. So living shardplate is likely powered by the radiants themselves, and I'd imagine that there's some sort of bond there that plays off the nahel bond. Just my 2 cents.
  19. As far as PG-13, I'm mostly concerned about the scenes of Kaladin in Amaram's army and running bridges. Those should be completely and utterly brutal, like Hacksaw Ridge level horror. Otherwise, I don't think the stakes over that part of the story would be sufficiently high, especially due to Kaladin's PTSD. The hypothetical movie should put us in his shoes, and to do that, it's gotta be horrific, and I don't know if that could be done in a PG-13 film.
  20. Anime's not inherently a kid-oriented genre. Ever heard of Berserk? Fullmetal Alchemist? Hunter x Hunter? Cowboy Bebop? I can keep listing them off. It's just a production medium, doing an adaptation in anime doesn't mean it's going to be less mature. And while I imagine the wildlife COULD be done well in live-action, I have zero faith that it WILL be done well. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but I don't see any major studios faithfully adapting the source material. Valerian's not really a good comparison because of how different the source material is. As for the market, that's a bit iffy, and definitely the main hurdle as far as an animated adaptation would go. But the maturity of the show is in no way a valid concern. If anything, it might actually be more of a concern for live-action films. Gotta secure that PG-13 rating (see: Total Recall, Robocop, etc)
  21. IMO, Sanderson's books would work best as serialized anime shows. For Way of Kings, the problem with doing a live-action cgi fare is that properly representing the world would be jarring for new audiences. Roshar's wildlife is incredibly alien, but a different kind of alien than other successful films. Plus glowing people in live-action looks dumb. Also, an anime medium would allow much more visual freedom for the artists. One major way I could see this pay off is in how they depict shardbearers. With Anime, they would be able to easily draw and frame the scene to make the shardplate more resplendent than the rest of the frame, while Hollywood would probably be more inclined to make it darker (see Shredder from TMNT). I just got up, and I'm really tired, so sorry if my explanation sucks. I'll try to put more here later.
  22. Adolin would never murder someone though, why would you suggest such a thing? #Adolindidnothingwrong
