I'm not on board with the stormfather idea. At all. First, Eshonai mentions that adopting stormform will focus the unmade's attention on Narak. If this is true, the unmade wouldn't need the stormfather to guide them to Narak, as they'd already know where it is. Second, Stormfather seems to be at worst apathetic, and not actively sabotaging the human's chances for survival. He's letting the desolation begin, not kickstarting it.

So, I'm unfortunately not able to make it to any of Brandon's signings any time in the near future. But I do have a fairly simple question that someone else may be interested in asking Brandon if they go to once of his events (if it's been asked before just let me know). In WoR, Kaladin and Shallan saw 2 (presumed) unmade heading walking around during the highstorm. My current theory, which seems pretty solid, is that the second (alien and sleek) figure is Re-Shephir, the midnight mother. I laid out the theory here, and it seems pretty solid: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/48243-striding-the-storm/ Basically, I'd just ask Brandon if we've seen the names of those entities before, or maybe a more specific question based on that. I don't believe that Brandon has been asked about those two figures yet. But again, if he has, just let me know. I'll also see if I can get to any events, but very likely will not be able to.

Can't believe I just made this connection

Sorry, but the Buzz Lightyear comparison is reserved for Paladin Danse. -
So, I was curious about this. With Cryptics being based on highly advanced fractals, and Roshar's map being based on a Julia Set, I was wondering... How familiar are Rosharians with advanced mathematics? I'm talking discrete math, discrete mathematics, abstract algebra, geometry (all kinds), calculus, logic, statistics, game theory, combinatorics, control theory, and probability. Going off of what I've seen in the first couple books, it looks like the Alethi, for the most part, are fairly ignorant of more advanced mathematics, though seem to be at least proficient in applied math (Dalinar's chasm bridges). Also, time to address the elephant in the room: Why have we not seen any cryptography on Roshar? I mean, one of the main kinds of radiantspren are cryptics, for crying out loud! And "because they have spanreeds" really isn't a viable response. What did they do before spanreeds? Do they realize that open communication on spanreeds could ally a hijacker to receive unencrypted information? Could Odium or an unmade intercept spanreed communications? Sorry for the strange rant, operating on ~2 hours of sleep.

This made my heart flutter like an inbred pidgeon, and for that, I thank you.

It's a giant wheel that Sadeas is in charge of. He always has a crew of bridgemen turning it at a constant pace.

Confirmed: Hoid is the Genghis Khan of the cosmere.

Nalan's most definitely insane. However, he's not JUST insane. He's cold, calculating, and thanks to his millennia of experience with odium, likely has a far more intimate knowledge of what's going to happen than any character except for (and possibly including) Taravangian.

Nalan's preoccupied at the moment. Plus, the desolation already started, so I wouldn't expect him to be so focused on killing all surgebinders. Shallan's lucky that he didn't catch on to her after she killed her father.

It's actually Skyforge Steel. It's legendary stuff.

How many Nalans are we really seeing...? (WoR Spoilers)
Patrick Star replied to pharaoh9000's topic in Stormlight Archive
I just figured that he had a transportation fabrial, or maybe it's just his heraldic powers. He has a lightweaving fabrial (I'm pretty sure), so I don't see why he wouldn't have fabrials that replicate other surges.- 33 replies

I agree that she's made some questionable morality decisions. But what Amaram did was WAY WORSE. Like I said, Amaram murdered men under his command, who did nothing wrong (and saved his life), and would have given him what he wanted if he had asked.
-
Well, Kaladin never murdered the men under his command in order to steal a set of shards. So there's that.

This is a most logical observation

No, probably not the case, mainly since we have Nightblood as reference. The mist is likely the investiture required to form/summon the blade, not some sort of life support. We see that Nightblood (a broken shardblade) leaks investiture, similar to how shardblade leak investiture when summoned.

Energy weapons would fall under all weapons, so he'd be able to generate the energy.

Why Steelheart recruited Firefight (Firefight Spoilers)
Patrick Star replied to Charlie.x.3000's topic in The Reckoners
Having such a powerful and versatile illusionist creates the perfect infiltrator and propaganda artist. That's probably why Steelheart hired her. -
If his power applied to all weapons, he'd just be able to create power for it, since power is basically its ammo.
-
Curveball would actually be a really powerful epic if his power applied to all weapons. Can you imagine him with that giant explosive rifle that the reckoners got, except with no ammo limit or reload time?

I've been saying this for a while, but shardplate seems to have an odd crystal-like structure. The process of rebuilding shardplate reeks of crystal seeding, and we've seen stormlight crystallize when Kaladin powers up. The thing that bugs me is the melting part of the shardplate. When you break it, it liquifies. That's not a property of crystals. It may imply that the stormlight is superheated, though.

We need to find a way to fit Idris Elba in.

Artificial, you say? Well then, it's official. I'm betting 5 bucks that Roshar is like Nirn, and has an advanced workshop and clockwork city at the center of the planet. I'll bet another 5 bucks that the main operator is the doge from Silent Hill (it IS a Shiba Inu). Much Desolation. Very Sanderson. Wow.

Name: "The Fine Brothers" My epic power would be getting a ton of Youtube subscribers. My weakness would be trying to trademark a common word, which would cause me to lose all my Youtube subscribers.

I'd bring in the Night's Watch. They did a pretty good job the first time around.
