  1. Yeah, I remember this WoB. It's about the PoV characters for the second 5-book arc.
  2. We've seen quite a few crazy theories on this. My crazy idea was that "Taln" is actually Nohadon (Brandon RAFO'd someone who asked whether Nohadon was alive) Anyways, it's highly likely that "Taln" is old. Old enough to remember the Radiants and how they were established (he called Shallan one of Ishar's knights). He's also definitely strong with the force a magic user, as we saw him snatch blowdarts out of the air with Amaram. However, I don't recall if he took in any stormlight, so he may have a large amount of innate investiture (similar to a returned).
  3. If you accidentally press down on something, you're in for a world of pain. TV is like icecream.
  4. It looks harmless at first, then mercilessly rips your skin to shreds. Love is like a potato in a minefield.
  5. So, I was wondering about this the other day. If I programmed a terminator robot, could it kill steelheart? The robot would be incapable of fearing steelheart, and would have zero sense of self preservation.
  6. Yup, you're right. I had seen articles about him on Tor's site, so that's probably where I got that idea.
  7. Aren't Sanderson and Rothfuss both published by Tor?
  8. Oh look, a second win. True sadisticness there. Dangling glimmers of hope in the void, then extinguishing them.
  9. Um. You do realize you'd be walking straight into Calamity, right? Not great for hiding.
  10. Whoops, sorry, didn't see that
  11. Or maybe I'll just stay in Philly as a 76ers fan. Representing that 1-30 record Knowing Epics, they'd be too sadistic to put me out of my misery. Edit: The 76ers are actually 1-30, not 1-29 like I had said. But at this point, I could probably just put 1-whatever, and they'll get there.
  12. His name is JOHN CENAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. 1) The main reason is that he can live off of the stormlight that the highstorms provide. Easier (and more ethical) than taking peoples' breaths. 2) Probably to get easy access to Stormlight. And because it's a living. 3) He's actually a very good duelist. Not the best (Denth was better), but he's still a great fighter. In Warbreaker, he hadn't needed to duel in a while because of Nightblood. There's a WoB about this somewhere.
  14. Yeah. It's pretty clearly established that Oathgates use a very large amount of Stormlight. Azir's Department of Stormlight Distribution (ADSD) must be able to monitor the oathgate's usage in order to ensure that they can keep the nation's lights lit while the oathgates are in use.
  15. Very true. Some good old fashioned lobbying could very easily help you cut down on the amount of paperwork that you need to fill out.
  16. I'd like to see Kholinar/The Palace. Awesome painting!
  17. Cool, crazy Taln theory #3. Ever watched "Mad Max"? With a Herald, they live, they die, they live again. Once they die, they come right back to life. They don't stay dead. They're transported to Braize, alive. Saying "Tanavest is dead" means that he stayed dead. So he's not Taln. Because he's dead.
  18. Well, the first forms you need are the IRS's forms 712 and 1500 for insurance liabilities. Then, you need to put on your 1040 that you now possess a fortune's worth of non-liquidatable assets. And it has to be the normal 1040, since you're now worth so much. Depending on your kingdom of residence, you may be required to register for a Shardblade license, or a Shardplate license, if you have that. Also, each year you will be required to bring in your shardplate for emissions and efficiency testing, to make sure that it's still operating at peak capacity. Those should be all the forms required to enjoy your new shardblade. Have fun!
  19. I think this is even crazier than my "Taln is Nohadon" theory. Also, Rayse IS Odium, at least from what I understand.
  20. I think that you could have a shardbow, but not shardarros. So you could have a sprenbow that shoots REALLY heavy bolts that do way more damage and are far more accurate than a normal arrow. Possibly, I'm not 100% sure what Brandon says.
  21. The diagram REEKS of precognitive influence. I don't care how smart Taravangian got. There's no way that he could have conjured all of the information in the diagram with the information given to him. Some of the stuff is fairly obvious. I'll give him a pass on his fixation as Dalinar, as anyone with half a brain would know that he would be important. However, predicting a bridgeman to become a radiant? Writing the diagram in a completely unrecognizable language? Some of his predictions are far too specific and off the wall to be pure intelligence. Also, my personal pet speculation is that Taravangian wrote the Diagram in the Dawnsinger language. You know, with the translation key, and the huge mentions that Dawnsinger civilization has gotten so far.
  22. This, possibly?
  23. Here's the WoB that I mentioned earlier. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/23013-wobs-from-steel-ministry/
  24. That's the worst part. His story ISN'T repeating. It's finishing. In spectacularly atrocious (as in his actions, not as in quality) fashion.
  25. I've been droning about this for a while, but remember Wandersail. Szeth's at the last part of the story, and I think he's burning down the island in Stormlight 3. So yeah, it would be beneficial for everyone involved if he stayed dead.
