  1. THERMODYNAMICS II!!! COLDNESS IS SIMPLY A LACK OF HEAT! IT ISN'T A THING!
  2. Or just make a giant bomb. Singers are powerful and all, but they still lose to gigantic explosions.
  3. I always imagined it as the opposite. IMO, Stormlight's Endothermic. That's why the frost appears when Kaladin powers up. He absorbs the stormlight from around him, which sucks the heat out of the room. Basically, remember this:
  4. Free electricity. Build a nuclear reactor. Soulcast the nuclear waste back into enriched uranium. Repeat.
  5. No, we don't. The number 99 was made up, the actual number was much lower. There's a WoB on it. Past that, we don't know the exact number. http://stormlightarchive.wikia.com/wiki/Desolation
  6. Yugioh. Arguably both the best and worst designed card game out there lol So many broken cards
  7. Yup, I'm still repping your theory The discussion's linked in Bort's signature, but I'll give the quick version. Each unmade is formed from a Herald's soul when they break. Because of this, the theory states that each Herald's madness corresponds to an unmade, as that unmade has what they lack. For example, Ashertmarn was likely formed from Nale, as it is the heart of the revel, and Nale lacks emotion. Similarly, Ba-Ado-Mishram was likely formed from Ishar due to the leadership roles they both possess. In addition, an extension of the theory is that when a herald broke multiple times, this added to the unmade that was already created, which is why some unmade have dashes in their name. The number of dashes corresponds to how many times that Herald broke (no dashes being once, one dash twice, and two dashes three times). So looking at the two unmade given before, the theory would say that Nale only broke once, as Ashertmarn has no dashes in its name. However, Ishar would have broken three times. Interestingly, if we assume this theory, add all of the unmade together, and look at how many dashes each name has, that would peg our current desolation (the one with the everstorm happening right now) as being the 16th Desolation. And we all know how significant the number 16 is in the Cosmere. We also know from a WoB that the 99 desolations story is wrong, and the actual number was far less than that, which 15/16 definitely fits.
  8. I still agree with the "Unmade are Heralds" theory
  9. Use Dimensional Barrier and declare Fusion monsters. Fused won't be able to pop up for a turn afterwards. Other Floodgates would probably work too. Vanity's Emptiness would be fantastic to side in against the fused. I'm hesitant to say that Necrovalley, Dimensional Fissure, or Macro Cosmos would be good, since we don't know whether the Fused get sent to the graveyard or banished when they are killed. Seeing as Odium technically has to tribute a Parshendi to create a fused, Mask of Restrict may work as well, but we'll need a judge to rule on that one. If you can protect them, Majesty's Fiend and Vanity's Fiend are good choices as well, but less consistent and harder to summon. Kaijus are a bad option here unless you're sure you can OTK. I think the best way to counter Odium's deck is to go first and keep him from getting Everstorm out. That field spell provides ridiculously powerful revival effects and lets him plus like crazy. 3 Ghost Ash and 3 Ghost Ogre are a must.
  10. I think they just found them tbh. In the flashbacks, we saw that the Radiants created way more shards than they currently are, and it's a pretty safe assumption that in the hundreds (thousands?) of years since, some of them got lost. Plus we saw Oathbringer start sinking into the pottery, so it's possible some buried themselves on the Shattered Plains or other locations for people to find. I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that a couple of unaccounted-for shards ended up in the hands of the Listeners by accident.
  11. Whenever I picture Odium, I keep thinking of Fuhrer Bradly (Wrath) from Fullmetal Alchemist. This is decidedly a good thing.
  12. It's probably the white sand
  13. I'm pretty sure Glys hid inside Renarin's stomach since he didn't have a gemheart. Kind of like how Syl hid in Kaladin's hair with the Parshmen.
  14. That's because Nightblood's been absorbing investiture for years now. If Vivenna's sword was used to kill over and over, it would eventually get to the amount of investiture that Nightblood has.
  15. The fused stayed away from her at the wall in Kholinar, they were super scared of the sword.
  16. Vivenna having a new awakened blade, which I refer to as Whiteblood, is a HUGE Checkhov's Gun that a lot of people forget about. Currently, Nightblood and Whiteblood are the only two things on Roshar (that we know of) that can permanently kill fused reliably. However, they can also kill splinters like radiantspren and the unmade. Having one of the two be unaccounted for should be terrifying.
  17. KEVIN DURANT IS ON ROSHAR?!?!
  18. We find out that 5 Oath Radiants use their Spren as Stands. Kaladin's will be called Syl Platinum.
  19. A match of Tic-Tac-Toe against Taravangian, specifically. That's why there's a 10-year timeskip between books 5 and 6. It took that long for Mr.T to have a day dumb enough to lose a game.
  20. Let's get him some chouta to celebrate his smrtness
  21. Even if Shallan did, I'm sure that one of her personalities would be cool with it
  22. I'm going to disagree with you on your first point, I think Ba-Ado-Mishram is in the sphere that Szeth hid. We'll probably see it this book, but I don't think it's under Kholinar. As for Nale, I'm curious about how that's going to go down. We need to see exactly why Odium assassinated Jezrien in the way that he did, since Nale very possibly could have pledged himself to a side that needs to kill him to further their plans. I'm interested to see what happens. As for other stuff, I think we might get to see a showdown with Tezim/Ishar in this book. I wouldn't be surprised if Taln and Ash end up being the ones to fight him. You know, to stop a herald, you need two heralds, or something like that. If the Ash-Dustbringer theory is true, I could see them both starting to swear their ideals in this book. Also, I'm in the camp of Rlain becoming involved in reaching out to the Listeners who escaped Narak. He might team up with now-radiant Venli to do that. So yeah, I think the two big factors not mentioned already are Taln and Ash, and Rlain. Interested to see how that story goes!
  23. Don't Siah Aimians cast their shadows in the wrong direction? That indicates he already has something going on with Shadesmar, so it's possible that he's more interested in how spren cross over to the physical realm.
