  1. Eshonai was a proto-Willshaper, but succumbed to stormform. After she died, the spren she had attracted (Timbre) started following Venli around, since they were sisters. At the end of Oathbringer, Timbre trapped the Voidspren in Venli's gemheart, and they began bonding when Venli said the first oath. IMO, Venli's plotline in Book 4 will continue with her being a storyteller, only she'll start organizing disgruntled Parshmen to rebel against the Fused. The end of Oathbringer kind of hinted at this. As for Timbre's appearance, I've always thought of her as looking like the Sea Ghosts you find in Yngol's Barrow in Skyrim.
  2. I just realized this, but after Part 1 of Oathbringer, we never see Yixli again. When Moash (*spit*) is pulling the cart and runs into the Parsh that Kaladin was with, they complain that they got put on pulling duty while Yixli got off scot free, but I don't believe that she's mentioned again after that. It's kind of strange to see, and I'm kind of disappointed that there wasn't more substance in the character or her interactions with other characters (Kaladin, the Parshmen, or Moash), since she basically shows up, walks around accusingly, apparently vouches for Kaladin with the Fused, and then is complained about. That's pretty much it, I was hoping for more interaction there. Knowing Brandon, I doubt that this is the last we'll see of her, but it raises a bunch of other questions. Exactly what kind of spren is she? Did she know that Kaladin was a radiant? If she did, why did she vouch for him with the Fused? When I finished part 1 originally (in the free chapters), I was toying around with the idea of whether a voidspren could switch sides, so is it possible that could be something going on there? We've already seen most of the highspren we've met and at least one ashspren (Spark) switch from Honor to Odium, a corrupted lightspren (Glys) stay with Honor, and possibly seen Sja-Anat switch from Odium to Honor, so maybe there could be some shuffling in the future? Of course, this is all coming from literally 2 on-screen appearances and 1 mention, so I may be overly speculating, but I would be very surprised if Brandon just dropped this thread.
  3. Nale thought that Helaran was the surgebinder in House Davar (instead of Shallan), so he gave him a set of dead plate and blade to keep him from bonding a spren.
  4. Yeah,I was wondering if 5 would technically fit within 2, but it was too important for me to include helper functions lol. Maybe a better oath 5 will be "I will always follow proper stack discipline and never use pointer arithmetic", that would save me SO MANY SEGFAULTS
  5. I'm gonna have to disagree with this point. At the final battle at Thaylen city, Dalinar was surrounded by Kaladin, Jasnah, Taln, Ash, Shallan, Szeth, Lift, Renarin, and Eshonai, and felt like all 10 orders were present/the radiants were back. I think those characters are safe until at least the very end of book 5, though I'm personally on the "10 new heralds" train (meaning that those 10 go to Braize to "end" this desolation and buy time, leading to the timeskip between the front and back 5 books).
  6. 2 - I will always follow proper code style protocol for my programs 3 - I will always avoid race conditions and code in a thread and process safe manner 4 - I will always create an exhaustive test bench to ensure the validity of my program 5 - I will always reuse code in dedicated helper functions
  7. It's almost certainly one of two things: 1 - Odium confused Dalinar for either Honor or Adonalsium, as he seemed to become a sliver at that moment. As for the "we", it's uncertain at the moment, since we literally know nothing of Cultivation's motives outside of most likely "Don't get killed by Odium." It could refer to the listener army, maybe the fused in the spiritual realm did something? I imagine we'll figure out the details of Honor's death at some point. 2 - Odium is referring to Evi. Dalinar heard a voice say "I forgive you", which was likely Evi in the spiritual realm. In this case, he'd be referring to himself and Dalinar, based on his speech. To expand on 1, I don't think this is permanent for now, but was likely the result of Dalinar speaking the third oath of the Bondsmiths, as we have WoB that Windrunners and Bondsmiths are the two orders that get a Super-Saiyan style power-up after speaking an oath.
  8. Of course not, Jasnah's a logical individual. I'm sure she'd do her due diligence before preemptively assassinating Kaladin. You know, get a taste for his personality, likes and dislikes, take him out somewhere alone to get some privacy for her examination, try to get as much face-to-face interaction with him as possible to maximize information gathered, and just overall get to know him better. Wait, what was I talking about again?
  9. Dude, you make some good points, but I'm afraid that all you've done is thrown the Jasnadin shippers a giant bone
  10. What we're mainly guessing is that some of the unmade have already been stuck in gemstones, as seen with Gavilar's black spheres. He gave one to Eshonai and the other to Szeth. The current idea seems to be that the sphere that Gavilar gave to Szeth contains Bo-Ado-Mishram, since it seems to be the most important unmade and would fit really well as a Chekhov's Gun. Consensus on the other sphere hasn't been reached yet, since we don't know what Eshonai did with it after she left. Plus they have Nightblood now, who may be able to just full-on eat an unmade in one sitting.
  11. Honestly, I'm about 95% sure that Feather's secretly holding Brandon hostage Misery-style and demanding that he write a bigger role for Renarin. Seriously though, I think it's most likely a combination of the two, but I find the second more interesting. Let me explain a bit: Odium reminds me a lot of Molag Bal from the Elder Scrolls, but mainly how Vicn writes him in the Skyrim mod Vigilant (fantastic mod by the way, it's a must-play). For those of you who aren't familiar with ES lore or Vigilant, Molag Bal is the Daedric Lord (basically a god/devil) of Domination, so his basic role is trying to enslave as many people as possible, sort of like how Rayse/Odium wants the Cosmere under his thumb. I can go into more detail in a dedicated post, but Vicn (author of Vigilant) writes Molag Bal in an incredibly layered manner that really turns him into an A+ antagonist. The central character arc for him dealt with the creation of Vampires, and the basic gist (or at least my interpretation) is that a Bard falls in love with a Priestess, and makes a deal with Molag Bal to serve him in exchange for the Priestess' safety. This comes to a crossroads when the Priestess is going to be murdered, so the Bard mantles Molag Bal (which in Elder Scrolls is somewhat analogous to becoming a shardholder), and turns the Priestess into the first Vampire (thereby technically fulfilling Molag Bal's promise). However, the Priestess hates what's happened to her, and when the player character rolls around to slay her, doesn't actually put up any fight herself and basically lets herself be killed. Molag Bal's furious about this, as he simply can't grasp her rejection of him, and ends up over-zealously seeking revenge against the player character, which is what eventually allows you to defeat him. There's a bit more to the story, but that's sort of the basic idea of the "true" route. So to relate this back to the Stormlight Archive, Rayse is the Bard, Odium (the shard) is Molag Bal, and in this case Sja-Anat/Renarin/Glys are the Priestess. Odium's weakness doesn't have to be anything specific to Renarin, but a more basic character flaw. Odium may simply not be able to understand that his creations may not follow him, which I think could be a super interesting way of Brandon portraying him. We've already established that Odium is splintering other shards to consolidate his intent as supreme, so he may just not grasp the possibility of his own splinters not sharing that same goal. IMO, this type of emotional conflict would be way better than a purely magical/mechanical conflict, as it would allow for deeper character exploration. I know I probably didn't do a great job of explaining, and I might make a dedicated post about why I see so many parallels, but I think that the idea of a god (Odium) not understanding why his creations (Sja-Anat, Renarin, Glys) would go against him is a fantastic format for constructive character exploration, and I really hope that Brandon takes that route as opposed to a more physical "Future Sight beats Future Sight" one. TL;DR: Brandon may go with Option 1, but I think that Option 2 done correctly would make Odium an incredible character
  12. Yeah, that's the impression I got as well, that it was special because it was all crystal, no glass. I'll be incredibly happy if it turns out that Yelig-Nar was in one of the spheres. I've been pushing unmade-in-a-box since right after WoR came out. But Brandon's comments about the notebook are super intriguing, because at the moment, I don't see any obvious ties from the black spheres to fabrials, at least that we know of. Unless he just meant that there was a spren inside of it, but that doesn't quite explain it completely. However, what if we're misunderstanding exactly what a fabrial is/can be? I'm referring to the machine portion, not just the gem itself. Is it possible that the process of swallowing Yelig-Nar's sphere somehow turned Amaram into a fabrial, if that makes sense?
  13. Brandon said that Urithuru was very Sim-City... Holy crap, this is terrible. Next book everyone's going to be trapped in pools without exit ladders, or maybe all of the toilets will disappear, or worse!
  14. It's possible Ulim was in that sphere (the one that Eshonai grabbed), but it doesn't explain what was in the original sphere, the one that he gave to Szeth.
  15. Yup, that was me lol. I still stand by this interpretation, especially after Amaram trapped Kal in quicksand with Cohesion. I'm really interested in how they use Transportation beyond the obvious uses though, could be fun.
  16. I just upboated for the Berserk reference, chapter 352 hype!!! But to answer your question, we're definitely going to have a shardblade break at some point, the only question is when. Personally, my vote is on Adolin's blade, maybe it has to break before Adolin revives it, somehow. I have no idea how a broken deadblade would work, so I'm just throwing ideas against the wall. Edit: thought I was on OB spoiler board, made post less spoilery
  17. So, are you saying that all Dalinar would have to do is scream "EMILIA IS A WAY BETTER WAIFU THAN REM!!!" to give Raise an aneurysm and destroy Odium?
  18. I think it could also be Nightblood maturing a bit since we saw him in Warbreaker. So he still destroys evil, but isn't quite as childish about it. IIRC Brandon said something about Nightblood's mental age at some point, but I don't remember exactly what he said.
  19. I want to see Adolin kill a Thunderclast Shadow of the Colossus style. Please Brandon, I NEED THIS
  20. Dalinar is literally my Skyrim character. I think I've sold my soul to literally everyone at this point.
  21. I'm personally wondering if Ba-Ado-Mishram is in Gavilar's sphere. Didn't the journal excerpts mention that one of the consistent legends surrounding it was that you had to swallow a sphere in order to gain the 10 surges? I like your idea of there being a secret under Kholinar, but I feel like trapping an unmade under such a huge population center wouldn't really have cut it as a plan. I'm wondering if it's something even older than an unmade, possibly related to the patterned architecture of Kholinar. Maybe something related to the dawnsingers?
  22. Rayse is Fuhrer Bradley confirmed?
  23. One concern I have is Ym's spren. He uses regrowth, so he was a proto-Edgedancer or Truthwatcher, but his spren doesn't really fit into your categories from what I can tell. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
