  1. One idea that I've been throwing around in my head is that Taravangian's diagram may have the key to translating the Dawnsingers. He did write it in a new language, after all. And he did include a translation key. So it may be some sort of common language, I guess. Still playing around with it, and it seems kind of odd for nobody on his team to notice any similarities.
  2. So, the title basically explains everything. With the final desolation upon us, the current proto-radiants are woefully ill-prepared to deal with all the different threats they're facing, and Urithiru is currently the only location that is clearly safe from the Everstorm. So, when will Odium's forces take it? I'm personally expecting it to either happen about halfway through book 4 (to be retaken in book 5), or taken in book 5 to be reclaimed in the second arc. What are other people's thoughts on this?
  3. Maybe, but a stoneward (and possibly either a willshaper or bondsmith) could probably walk ON water If SA ever gets made into a TV show/Movie/Animated series, we need to make sure that Tom Wlaschiha (aka Jaqen from GoT aka "Sexy Jesus") is cast as the first stoneward.
  4. Nightblood got hungry and ate some of them
  5. I actually think that this confirms how long Radiants live. There were some theories flying around a while back that Radiants were not able to die of age (there was some radiant who lived through a bunch of desolations, forget the name/order). So I think that Lift's boon may actually be her bond with Wyndle, as it will keep Lift from growing old (but not OLDER, if that makes sense). This would also explain why Wyndle was told to bond Lift. Although, I would find it hilarious if the boon was just that she retains the mind of an immature pre-teen for life
  6. I'm still holding out hope for technomancer Stonewards (cohesion+tension=control everything!). If that's actually possible, I'd put Stonewards as the most powerful Radiant.
  7. Good observation, you're probably right. However, I don't think it's possible for Hoid to accidentally reveal that he's a hopper, since he probably doesn't care. We're talking about a guy who twirls shardblades on his fingertips and would grow a new head if he got decapitated. Also, I doubt that anyone on Roshar cares, anyways. Nobody thinks twice about Vasher's colorful vocabulary and syntax.
  8. The armor definitely enhances the user. If it didn't, Renarin would have multiple traumatic brain injuries from jumping off the roof.
  9. I have a better idea... R+L=K! R+L=K! R+L=K!
  10. It's actually a twist on the Executioner DLC from The Evil Within. After the last 5 books of the series, Brandon will release 3 or so books from the PoV of an evil character in the series. On a serious note, I personally think it may be related to Sja-Anat, the unmade who (presumably) corrupts spren. Maybe she can infect bonded spren to corrupt their radiants, causing them to invert their oaths?
  11. The true desolation is a combo meal. You get a packet of red lightning, a bag of everstorms, and a water bottle signed by Odium with your main entree of a desolation.
  12. I'm ModderMan. I'm able to create and install mods of all kinds on anything from cars to videogames. Mostly Skyrim. But other stuff, too. However, excessive microtransactions or just straight up awful videogames nullify my lowers.
  13. Shallan's mother, maybe? Doesn't make a ton of sense, though, based on the timeline. But possible. Not sure if any other characters that fit the bill.
  14. This makes sense. Don't the parshendi weave spheres into their beards? Fits perfectly with this interpretation.
  15. He's totally Keanu Reeves. He's basically an older Neo
  16. I don't think there's a ton of evidence either way. However, nobody who's offered to Jasnah has really been a good fit for shipping, and that extends to most on-screen characters as well. Really, the only (male) characters that we've met who could have a successful romantic relationship with Jasnah are Kaladin and Lopen. Kaladin because of his background as a medic, high intellect, general awesomeness, and mutual disdain of Amaram and societal norms, and Lopen because he's Lopen. Lopen pairs well with anyone.
  17. Yeah, kaladin notes it when dalinar kills the parshendi that were aiming at kaladin's bridge squad, I believe. Don't have the exact quote, though. But dalinar's plate does glow
  18. Dalinar's shardplate glowed a few times in Way of Kings, indicating that he was a radiant. I don't recall Helaran's plate glowing. I think Mr.T was wrong.
  19. Thunderchild for the win. Way better than stock shouts.
  20. Sanderson Skyrim builds would probably yield better results
  21. Have you read the Wandersail story? It's ALL about Szeth. He's burning down the island.
  22. Could someone upvote rmart for me? Fat fingers on my phone, sorry about that! Anyways, this is Adolin's arc. I'd like to see him take responsibility at some point, honestly. I don't think a Dustbringer would try to hide from this, and I really want Adolin to be a Dustbringer
  23. I don't know why this is an issue. In fact, all of the crustaceans on Roshar would be to my benefit. I'd just hurl them at my enemies and watch them get eaten, flee in fear, or both. It's one of the many skills that Skyrim has taught me.
  24. It's pretty obvious that he cracked once the desolation began. His failure was not preventing it, so it makes no sense for him to do anything that would actively aid the voidbringers returning.
