[GAME] If you were a Mistborn in real life...
Kobold King replied to Steel's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Fun fact: the "final metal" stores nerdiness. Compounding it gives you the ability to instantly recite obscure pieces of trivia about any franchise, and formulate 100% accurate theories on the future of any series. -
Our old foe, Technological Limitations. Mocking us from its castle of flying cars, jetpacks, and speedy internet service.

Random fantasy violence for the win. Thunderclasts seem to be stone possessed by voidspren, but we don't know what level of intelligence to expect from voidspren. So there doesn't seem to be much chance of deducing thunderclast intellect at the moment. As for the Phantoms... again, not a lot to go on. Comparing them to other Awakened constructs of Vasher's, we can presume they should be able to reasonably carry out any battle commands and instructions. They (probably) can't adapt their thinking to fit a new situation, but a skilled and loud-voiced commander should easily be capable of controlling them without difficulty. Since we're rather in the dark concerning intellectual abilities... what about physical attributes? Do we have any reason to believe that it's even possible to kill a thunderclast without Shard weapons? What if they start reforming whenever you attack them with more mundane weapons? What if the voidspren scurries away and possesses a new slab of rock as soon as the thunderclast dies, making Shard weapons a necessity?

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Kobold King replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I'd just gotten over that and now you've brought me down again. Oh well. At least I can still cook waffles. -
This one looks particularly awesome! I'm intellectually dwarfed by the other participants in these, so don't expect many grand insights from me. But out of curiosity, are these the same Kalad's Phantoms we see in Warbreaker? It matters since Vasher's the one who Awakened the originals, and the skill of the Awakener has major impact on the quality of the resulting Lifeless.

* Shaking * Great one. I am merely a humble waffle cook of the planet Scadrial. I have devoted my life to the understanding of the waffle. It is my life. I am but a small observer to the profound effects such a syrupy breakfast can have on one's soul. But through my unannointed eyes and my unworthy stomach I catch a glimpse of greatness. Knowledge of this greatest of baked goods. I seek to learn the true esoteric ways of the waffle. Please, great one, I implore thee. Teach the Wafflesworn what you know. Spread the word of the waffle like syrup over a hot breakfast. Make us worthy of the waffle.

Wow, Featured Theories would be awesome! I'm sadly a little out of touch with the best theories, but FeatherWriter's Rosharan Afterlife Theory is awesome and excellently put-together.

Buy, because more big Szeth reversals are practically guaranteed. WoR and Warbreaker spoilers

I know exactly what you mean. Warbreaker is my second favorite Cosmere novel, second only to The Way of Kings. I even like it better than Words of Radiance. It really is that awesome.

Ah. The real reason the Church of the Stick makes so many Stick posts.

This is a double post, but I bear joyous news. At 1111 rep points, I have achieved the blessed rank of Scadrian Waffle Cook. My life is now complete. All goals I had planned over my existence on planet Earth have been fulfilled. * Claps hands, summoning servants bearing tables laden with the food supplies I have cooked. * Friends, I have prepared a feast!

If there is a method, I am unaware of it. I just spend an unhealthy amount of time looking through my reputation and taking note of particularly popular posts.

Or even something as simple as "Signed Sanderson novels." I mean, come on. You'd think the perpetrator behind the spam bots could have done a little more market research.

Buy. And he has done so with the book Wax has.

Buy. There's no way the AoL Misting charts aren't foreshadowing things. (They're called Leechers, by the way). Arsteel was a really nasty piece of work. Tonk Fah quote:

I wonder if the spam bots would have greater success if instead of advertising "intercaste love marriages", they promised "Nightwatcher boons and curses".

Buy. Adonalsium was intentionally Shattered in an attempt to tap into its full potential. (Someone thought it would be more powerful/useful as a bunch of Shards rather than a cohesive whole.)

Featherwastes. Dehydrating and tear-jerking. Not a good combo.

I just went through and upvoted every one of the linked-to posts. I think my highest voted post was the Where's WalDo post, apparently for the title alone (since the thread itself failed to uncover definitive data). Honestly, I didn't feel particularly clever when I named that, and I frequently get zero upvotes for posts I find far more hilarious.

Swimmingly, Swimmingly, Swimmingly. When will you learn the importance of categorization? FYI, the proper terms are "Gobi Dunkers" and "Catalan Carriers".

Now I have the image of flyers hung up all over Roshar. Missing: Talking Sword Black. Exudes inky smoke when unsheathed. Enjoys killing evil. If found, contact Zahel, Shattered Plains ardentia, Greater Roshar System.

I'm caught between "You monster!" and "My hero!"

"I will care for those who are not developmentally mature enough to do so themselves." Poof! No reason the lucky parents can't glow and fly now.

"But you heard her crying last night! Surely that was traumatic enough."

Wow, congratulations! She's adorable. I imagine her first words will be along the lines of "Wasing the where of Daddy?"
