I think you can go hotter than normal, but not to the extreme without passing out. Probably not over 200F.  Definitely not to the “oxygen spontaneously combusting around you” level. Probably not to any point where you can cause things to burn or heat up most metals.

And I don’t think you’d die. I think you’d pass out if you went too hot or too cold very quickly. Brass is best used for temperature regulation.

Kelsier, as a compounder, can go much higher easily. He still wouldn’t be able to get that hot if he wasn’t a savant which, as per the new savant rules, has some significant side effects; ie. he’s essentially cold blooded with no temperature regulation at all.

Skimmers do not get dense, btw. If they did, they’d be immune to bullets while tapping. So their mass increases, but not their density.

This is my personal opinion, btw. I’ve had a lot more experience with weird temperature issues than I’d like, lol. My older daughter has a TBI and one of the results is that she can freeze in warm weather. So I’ve had reason to think about this to a ridiculous degree.

Kelsier smiled, taking the vials. “You probably don’t want to swallow these by mistake.” He put them in his pocket, then gestured at the mantle. “You’ll find vials and bands for all sixteen metals in the drawers.”

Kelsier smiled. “Everything in this house is yours to use for as long as you choose to stay. And you’ll find the labels on the bottom of the vials.”

"We can stay here?"

“That is what the house is for,” Kelsier replied, bemused.

Pretty sure you’re not in the house. I can send someone to pick you up if you tell me where you are.

We're not, we're at the Village, but I don't see any realistic way for someone to know that.

We should explain what happened to you in the time gap. Let's take care of that, and then go to how do you find us.

Kelsier has had people spying on you since you showed up. This is his planet; I doubt much happens on Scadrial that he doesn’t know. He likes people to be autonomous, but he needs to be in control.  Having an extensive spy network across the whole of Scadrial gives him that.

Tzalum wandered casually through the Village. With his tanned skin and angled eyes he fit in well among the Terris, even with his accent. He wasn’t, of course, but he looked close enough for Master Thaidakar’s purposes.

Right now his task was to watch the newcomers, these mysteriously appearing Worldhoppers. Master Thaidakar believed that if he could parse their method of travel, the Ghostbloods would be able to utilize it to accomplish their goals ahead of the publishing schedule.

Whatever that meant. Master Thaidakar could be a bit... eccentric... at times.

Tzalum would follow him anyway. The Ghostblood master had saved him from a life of drudgery in the backwaters of Alethkar and given him new purpose. He would follow him loyally now, wherever the journey took them.

So now we have a worldhopping Ghostblood!

That works too.

Kelsier likes to know EVERYTHING. Trésor and Roues are more inner circle (as is Ganache, if I involve her). Zola too, if Con wants to play her as an adult GB. Tzalum is second circle. Close to the center, but not as directly connected.

Yes. I am definitely okay with that. (I'll be okay with almost anything.) And Ladashwy is going to currently be on Nalthis. :)

Lilliana was trying really, really hard not to start talking. She knew that if she started talking, she wouldn't be able to shut up. She had too many questions. And she didn't even know if she wanted answers to all of her questions or not. Hm... I wonder if Faith has a Book of Mormon. She's a member, right? I think this trip may actually be making it easier to believe. I mean, Brandon Sanderson is also a member.

Hoblim finished reading all of Khriss' essays, and looked up from the book. Lilliana was solving her cube, probably burning bronze. Daryen was busy trying to understand how his feruchemy worked, talking to Kelsier. Faith just took her vials, but didn't drink them yet. He turned to Trésor. "So, what's the problem with storing visual memories? I know Kelsier did that."

Now, I know that Goob delayed because he didn't understand how brass feruchemy works, but Connie, why didn't you do anything?

“Nothing,” Trésor said. “That’s exactly what you just did, if you did this right. You stored the written words. The trick is learning to store just the visual stimuli or just the auditory or just the olfactory, and so on. With greater skill you can learn to store emotional or factual memory alone. You can even learn to store muscle memory.

”What you’re talking about is storing episodic memory - the memory of the actual event. You don’t want to do that often, because you lose the entire experience.”

”I can compound my memories,” Kelsier said, glancing over. “So I can make copies. It’s useful for leaving a visual record, but on a day to day basis storing select information is more useful.”

"Hmm..." Said Hoblim thoughtfully. "That confirms one theory on the shard about copper compounding. Now I kind of wish I was a twinborn compounding copper." He then flipped a few pages in the book, returning to the beginning. "Just wanted to make sure I could store the star charts, just in case. Those things can be useful." He then smiled. "I actually wonder how will Scadrial start space travel, not having a yareach and all."

Since his native language is Hebrew, when he says words that don't exist in Scadrian people will hear the Hebrew word. Sorry for all the people not speaking Hebrew here - yareach means moon.
