Hoblim tried to concentrate on storing the vision of the star charts, so he didn't answer. When he finished, he looked up and saw Lilliana reading Warbreaker. Which was basically about the only world not having an essay by Khriss about in Arcanum Unbounded.

"Can I have the book after you?" He asked. "I think I probably should store memories of its are arcanum, so that I'll have memories of essays about all the magic systems. Ideally, I'd have used the coppermind, but we have no internet." He stopped for a moment, then giggled. "I meant the website, of course. But I guess it sounds a little weird."

“Even if you had internet, you still couldn’t reach the servers,” Kelsier noted, amused. “Faster than light communication in the Physical Realm hasn’t been cracked yet.”

Technically there was an internet on Scadrial. It was just very limited - and no where near Elendel - since Kelsier couldn’t risk someone stumbling on to it. Scadrial needed to figure that one out for themselves, starting with computers.

It’s also the only place on Scadrial with computers. It got set up because Kelsier needed a way to store a lot of information.

It’s an internet because it involves multiple networks talking to each other. But the scope is very, very limited.

When he finished, he closed the book and looked up. "Well, so now, how do I organize memories? Do I need to tap it and store it back by a specific order?"

ignored Lilli, or pretended to. Mentally, he began preparing. Clearly he was going to have to find something to occupy the girl before she caused even more damage than she had.

If that didn’t work, he’d have to kill her. As much as he’d regret it, he couldn’t have her overturning the plot the way she intended. The situation was too tenuous for that.

Kelsier smiled at Hoblim, raising an eyebrow. “You’re in quite the rush. It takes years to master the art of an arcanist. You’re just learning how to store a single aspect of memory. Rearranging the contents of a metal mind requires being able to hold both texts as images in your mind very briefly before swapping them.

She looked at her list. Yeah. I should be able to find all of this without too much of a problem. Should I go now? She looked at the door, thoughtfully. I really, really want to make some grenades. And start cultivating some viruses. But would it be rude to leave? I don't know. Plus, if I don't go soon I'll probably forget about it. AHHHH! I don't know what to do! *lots of internal screaming* I don't know what to do. I'll probably be useless with or without grenades, but they'd still be fun to make.  She felt as if her insides were twisting. Her demeanor changed slightly. She'd gotten really good at hiding when she was feeling depressed, but wasn't perfect at it.

"No, if I still in need of practice I won't try getting ahead of myself." He stopped talking for a moment, thinking. "Now, I'm curious to know something: I have a good memory, though not on the visual side, not any other sense. It's just... I tend to remember small details in books I read. Not in the word-on-page way, just... small things. Like, the first time you said 'there's always another secret' in Mistborn was after the first meeting of the crew in the building of Meilav's crew, when you found Kamon's secret wine stash. And things like that, though nothing comes to mind right now. So, what kind of memory would you call that? A kind of knowledge? Is that possible to store that in a coppermind?"

”Although Camon’s safehouse wasn’t the first place I used it. Just the first time in the book.”

He paused, considering. “Meilav? Is that your name for Vin?” He pronounced her name Vah(n) in traditional Scadrian fashion.

She was trying to stay calm, but if she didn't do something, she would stop functioning properly. She was feeling really depressed, and it was making her sensory processing issues 10 times worse. She got up grabbed her backpack. "I'll be back later." She said shakily. And then she left to go buy the equipment. While everyone else had been talking, she had tied the list to her wrist so that she wouldn't forget where it was. "Okay. Okay. Mental health break. Okay." She said to herself. "It'll be fine. Okay. If I get depressed, my Sensory Processing Issues get worse, and I'll crack emotionally. I need to be alone right now. I'm going to go buy some equipment so that I can do science-y things." After a few moments he noted a Survivorist priest moving through the crowds nearby, pausing to drop clips into the hat of a beggar.

Hoblim tilted his head, hesitant. He didn't know what to do with depressed people, though he had a friend that has such problems... But of course, before he finished thinking of what to do Lilliana was out of sight. He returned inside. 

Now, he thought, maybe I should try storing factual memories. Though... He hesitated, then tried to tap the memories he stored. And got a little overwhelmed by a series of thoughts accidentally stored with those memories. The memories degraded back while he was dumbfounded by the fact he failed miserably in not storing associations. He shook himself and decide to try again, but... He felt a little guilty over taking Arcanum Unbounded again, now that Lilliana wasn't around, so he sighed and took a book out of his own bag, starting to read it.

She didn't notice the man with the gun until it was too late. Bang! Bang! Bang! She got shot three times. "Now that that's done, time to report to the boss." The man said. He then ran away, and seemed to vanish in a puff of smoke. That was the last thing she saw before she died.

"It's here right?" Evaniel muttered to himself, "Should be right here." As he raised his hand to knock on the door he saw something in a nearby alley and walked over to investigate. "What in the world?" When he saw the body he didn't recognize it at first, but then he realized, "That's someone from earth." He then stood there, his mouth slightly open.

You need to give me time to react... Especially since Roues is a lurcher - and he was walking, not driving. Prière is a Steelrunner and Oracle, btw. Kelsier didn’t send just anyone to track her. Tzalum has his own skills. The female chef is a tineye, the male one is a coinshot, and the tailor is has F pewter.

Roues followed Lilli as she entered the alley, using Iron to track her. At the sound of gunshots he instinctively pulled the bullets toward his chest plate.

Prière ran past him in a blur, slamming into the assailant before the man finished talking.

Roues dropped down at Lilli’s side and pressed a medallion into her hand. “Tap this,” he said urgently.
