And each one probably has a note attached, addressed to whoever chose said bottle. Probably.

“There are easier ways to find out,” Kelsier noted, amused. He reached into a drawer and pulled out a plate with the sixteen metals embedded in it. “Run your hand over this and see which metals you feel a Connection with.”

Roues, park the car and get back here. She turned up on the doorstep.

I’m pretty sure there’s a better way of telling which metals you have. It seems modern Scadrians have an instinct about it, so...

Kelsier nodded. “Saze made things a bit easier. There was always an instinct to it though. I knew the moment I snapped.” Admittedly, he’d been snapped by Preservation directly, which might have had something to with it...

"A connection? Seems iffy to me, but okay." Faith touched her hand to the plate and ran it over it. When she touched a dull silver metal, her eyes widened. She kept going, but came back to that metal soon enough. "It's this one. I think."

Kelsier nodded. “Pewter. Try storing in the sample. If that doesn’t work you’re an allomancer.”

He pulled a small vial out of his pocket and offered it to her. “Trade you?”

Kelsier laughed, pocketing the other vial - and its accompanying note. “It is a bit of a misnomer. One of the better ballet troops deliberately hires Thugs. Pewter doesn’t just make you stronger; it makes you more graceful and agile. Not a bad skill for a dancer.”

Hoblim looked at him, then walked toward the mantle, opened the first drawer - "Oh, this is the vials one." He said, and pulled out a few Bronze and Pewter vials, putting them on the top of it. "Those are for you, Lilliana - " he said, gesturing at some - "and those are for... Faith, you said you name was?"

He proceeded to open the second drawer, and from there he took the coper bands - the ones he felt Connected to. He then called: "Um, Daryen? I don't know what brass looks like, come and have a look yourself."

He then tuned back to Kelsier. "From what I understand, Archivists work better with as many metalminds as possible, since our attribute is less useful in the normal store-tap manner. So, how many bands can I take? And Trésor," he continued, turning toward her as he spoke, "you said you're an archivist, right? Can you teach me how to sort the memories in copperminds?"

Brass is the most Golden of the metals without being gold. The bands have their metal symbol imprinted on the inner ring.

Kelsier smiled. “Everything in this house is yours to use for as long as you choose to stay. And you’ll find the labels on the bottom of the vials.”

Trésor smiled kindly at Hoblim. “I can try. It takes experience and you’ll need to have some memories stored first. You shouldn’t need many to start; metal can hold a great deal and you aren’t going be making copies.”

I blame my keyboard. Some of the keys don't always work, and I don't always notice when that happens, though I try to. Fixed that, anyway.

"All right." Hoblim takes six copper braces, pulling his sleeves up his arm and putting them on. He smirks at the sight of his elbows' inside - it looks red and cracked, for some reason.

He looks back to Trésor. "Well, I can try and find things to store." He tuns back to the other Earthlings. "Can you tell me random, interesting things you remember about Scadrial and its magic systems?"

Yeah... I assumed as much.

"Uh..." Is he seriously asking me to nerd out? This is a first. "Are you sure you want me to nerd out on you? Because I will." Ah yes. The weird correlations between the magic systems and chemistry.

That may be the worst and best typo I've ever seen.

"Uh... it's this one. Looks identical to the plates we got from the metallurgy shop." I slip on the bands and look at them for a moment. Brass is a quite a pretty metal- like bronze, but more goldish. I'll have to get some better-looking ones later, as these are quite basic, just solid rings of the metal.

He looked a her. "I don't know if you noticed, but the shard is a nerd's place, really. And we're basically all sharders here. Now, I see myself as a nerd, and believe me, I can ramble some times. I don't ask for theories, though, because I'm not sure storing those up will be a good idea. But shoot whatever you have."

I might need to write everything you say in a doc somewhere. Maybe I'll just do that by the order of receiving, and organize only after I learn how to do it in-game.

And I seriously mean what my character said here. We're all nerds. Mostly book nerds, but anyone can have his/her own area of interest.

The bands are thin bangles. So they should slip on over your hand and rest on your wrists. Sorry if that wasn’t clear.

“The easiest way to practice is to read a book and store the text,” Kelsier advised. “One you’ve already read once works best. Storing conversations can be disorienting, especially if you’re not used to it.”

”I’d take his advice,” Trésor agreed. “I was raised knowing of my powers, which is rather different than someone who only just received them.”

She was about to start talking about heavy metals when Kelsier spoke. Then she decided to keep her mouth shut.
