A loud sound of something hitting the ground came from the neighbouring room - Lilliana's room, he recalled - and cut his train of thoughts. He immediately went to the room, and found Lilliana unconscious on the ground. He immediately run outside and shouted: "Help! My friend has just lost consciousness!"

He hurried up the stairs, cane in hand. Not that he needed it; he had the place memorized and with his tin on he could feel even the slightest vibrations. He could also just stop storing his sight, but that wouldn’t be nearly as fun.

The Survivor stopped next Hoblim. “You can stop shouting,” he said dryly. “I’m pretty sure they heard you in Jagerheim.

”Now, what happened?” He knelt down next to Lilli’s body, checking her pulse and breathing. Both were steady, but her heart was beating unusually quickly. He placed his hands on either side of her jaw, forcing the airway open with one quick motion. “Did you find her here, or did you move her?” A potential head injury was of more immediate concern than the fainting spell.

Kelsier nodded. “Good.” He lightly ran a hand over Lilli’s scull, careful to keep head and neck in alignment as he checked the occipital areas. “There doesn’t seem to be any obvious bruising and these floors are wood. She should wake up soon, but I’d rather not risk moving her.”

Regretfully, he stopped storing his normal vision, allowing him to check her pupils. They were the same size, and not overly constricted or dilated. Just to check, he moved his left hand so as to cast a shadow, then moved it away.

"My back hurts a little, and I'm a bit lightheaded." She said weakly. "But I'm always lightheaded after I pass out." I'm just glad I don't feel like I'm going to vomit.

I don't know. I haven't been diagnosed by a doctor, because of number 3 on my passing out list. Actually, me passing out because of needles has made me very scared of needles. And my dad is a microbiologist.

Her pupils responded appropriately, which was a good sign. “Lightheaded,” Kelsier repeated. “Not dizzy?” He held up a single finger. “Track this with just your eyes. Don’t move your head.”

She sat up, and grabbed her backpack. She found a granola bar, and started nibbling on it. "That might be hard... I get blurry vision multiple times a week. I don't normally pass out, but..." She shrugged, feeling a bit lethargic, but the lightheadedness was gone.

"Well, this time I think I just stood up to quickly and all the blood rushed to my head. Sometimes I'll pass out if my blood sugar levels are way too low, sometimes I pass out if my temperature rises too high, too quickly." She grimaced. "And then there's the needle thing. If I get poked with a needle, I'll often pass out. Especially if I also see my blood."

“Eat more salt,” Kelsier suggested. “It sounds like you might have hypotension. Your heart was beating very rapidly after you passed out, which is another sign. Caffeine can help in short bursts, but that causes spikes so isn’t good for the long term.”

He leaned back against the door frame, gaze focused in the direction of her breathing. “I’ll wait here while you gather your things, in case this happens again.”

She took another bite of the granola bar, and stood up. She was a bit shaky, but that was what she expected. She then looked over the whole room, she found a few things that she had pulled out of her backpack earlier while looking for the granola bars, some of which she didn't know she had in the bag until then (a lego person, a twix bar that she didn't know she owned, and a pair of socks), in really random spots. She shook her head. I really need to be more organized. After 5 minutes of scouring the room, she was finished. She, by that time, had finished the granola bar and was feeling better (mostly). She headed for the door.

On his way he decides to trust Kelsier, for now. He seemed to genuinely care for Lilliana. Though it might just be that he needed her, for some reason. He proceeds to go back downstairs, now everything on him, including a small orange bag containing his Teffillin in a plastic container inside, which can't be seen from the outside.

For some reason, this whole thing reminded me of my young brother's epilepsy, though there is no connection between what happened and that. One of the scariest things in my life was finding him one day on the sofa, sitting down and staring without response to anything around him.

Kelsier has learned a lot over the past 3 centuries, lol! Although he knew about concussions before that. He’s suffered enough of them!

If you’re curious, his primary goal is to keep you from messing up the AoL plot. Secondary goals include finding out more about how you arrived here and who sent you. Tertiary goals include seeing if he can somehow hijack you transportation method to get off world. But mostly he just wants to ensure you don’t accidentally overturn his plans.

He was genuinely concerned about Lilli though.

"Oh, yes, I'm ready to go." When she'd passed out, I had just let the more knowledgeable people deal with it- my only medical experience was first-aid from Boy Scouts.
