Hoblim hesitates before eating the first orange slice, then carefully puts two slices on his knees, mumbles something inaudible and starts eating the orange, slice by slice. He decides to ignore Lillian, for now.

Lilliana grabbed her rubix cube, and tried tuning out the conversation by solving it a couple dozen times. It helped a lot. "This conversation is so strange." She said, after she was able to calm down enough to talk.

With Hoblim settled, Kelsier and Trésor returned to their earlier conversation.

“You’d get the Skaa of Metals, of course,” Trésor said.

”It does suit me,” the Survivor acknowledged. “Passion, action -“

”Recklessness,” Trésor interjected.

He chuckled warmly. “That too.”

Note that I’m swapping the interpretations of the Knight and Page, because the Page’s meanings suit Saze better.

"You really need to pay attention to the details." She said with a grin. "Not that I usually do any better." She added with a wince. Like when I fell into the hole that transported me here. She grabbed the flip phone out of her bag, and started playing Pac Man. She payed a little bit of attention to her surroundings, but by then, she was a master at playing Pac Man.

This is completely unfair. Kell isn’t acting like you’d expect the Survivor to. He’s enjoying the con too much.

“Mistborn of Metals is also a possibility,” Kelsier noted. “Though I don’t think the interpretations fit Vin very well.”

”You would know better than I,” Trésor demurred. “They do work for you though.”

We've all read Mistborn. And I'm fairly sure he's read Secret History. I mean, we all know that he has some serious acting skills. He has blond hair. And gloves. And glasses. And I'm pretty sure the tarot cards are still out.

So, wait. We can't hear them? It's not like Kell put up a speed bubble or something. Shouldn't we notice all the weird stuff they say?

The tarot cards are away. And there’s nothing really odd about the conversation. They’re talking about the card meanings.

Kelsier’s hair is actually ash blond, not yellow the way it’s usually pictured. (It’s the color it is in Miranda Meeks picture.) The gloves are silk and are perfectly typical of noble garb of this time. And he’s acting like he’s really blind (which he currently is; he’s actually storing his sight completely because he’s an idiot that way) and playing a noble’s role, which we never see him do in the books.

As you can see, gloves are the norm. Trésor is also wearing gloves.

“Two of Bands reversed,” Trésor suggested. “You’ve picked that one before.”

“Ten reversed,” Kelsier said quietly, just the slightest note of regret in his voice. “I suppose it means things are going as planned.” He sighed briefly, then his smile returned as though it had never been gone. “Skaa of Bands upright.”

Trésor nodded thoughtfully. “Curiosity and opportunity. I can see it.”

Hoblim didn't understand her all too well, so he didn't react. When he saw her use her phone, though, he said: "Lillian, aren't you worried that your battery will run out?"

I don't really understand tarot... That's what they are doing, right? I have no idea what they are talking about. *Internal sigh*

"No. It's not like it would be very useful here." She grinned. "I mean, flip phones are already a bit of a pain to use. So, Pac Man."

Hoblim thinks for a moment and shrugs. Then, since he sees no way to continue the discussion, and since Trésor is busy with lord Elariel, he pulls a nylon case from his bag - the same one he did last time - takes out of it his steel alphabet - Hebrew - English table and passes through it. He then tried saying words intentionally in Hebrew, English, and Scadrian, to see if he can still speak all those languages.

Not sure if someone should care to notice that. Do we have anything to do, if there's no chance we'll recognize Kell?

She looked at the thing he was doing. What's that? I understand that, and I understand that, but I don't understand that. Anyway, how do I get him to realize that he's Kelsier? I mean, talking about that topic will make me start laughing. I could... Uh... Hm... I could maybe... Nope. I've got nothing. I'll just try to push him in the right direction. She decided to try to do that by kicking his leg, and then giving him a look that probably didn't convey what she wanted it to convey.

You could probably be able to tell because of some of the things he says.

"Ow!" Says Hoblim, then looks at Lillian. "Why would you-"

He stops talking when she gives him a meaningful look and points to lord Elariel. What...

He then realizes a few things: first, that the statement about lord Elariel knowing more about the card's representation than Trésor seemed weird, since she seemed to be the one knowing things about the cards. Plus, Lillian was acting weird, as if there was something he should notice about the man. He tried to add all this up, and...

He frowned. That wasn't probable, was it? He probably just overreacted. How could he check?

He drew the Allomantic symbol of Malatium on the page, caught Lillian's attention and pointed to it, then to... "Lord Elariel".

You cannot see the eye spike. It actually fits pretty perfectly into the socket; it’s smaller than an Inquisitor spike, as you can see on my cards.

She also said he would know more about Vin not fitting the card meanings, although they do have an explanation for why. (She’s Terris and was raised Pathian and Kell often claims to be a Survivorist.)

Trésor turned momentarily to frown at the phone. “You should put that away. We don’t have those here.”

Kelsier shot her a curious look and Trésor sighed internally. “She’s using a... communication device from my sister’s world.”

“Ah.” He paused, turning in Lilli’s general direction. “She’s probably right; using that out here may not be wise.”

“Particularly since our waiter is coming,” Trésor noted, gesturing at a man wheeling a cart full of covered dishes.

Hoblim giggled himself, relieved to see that Lilliana understood his hint. He thought it might've been a little obscure. He proceeds to try and draw Daryen's attention, to explain to him what was going on.

It's Lillian or Lilliana? You used both.

I was actually really worried the hint was too obscure. I sometimes fear I know how to make only two kinds of riddles: too easy or too hard.

Edit: you're probably right, Kingsdaughter, but I think that since I am very speculative usually - my character will be, too, and will jump to conclusions. He won't always be right - usually he won't be.

I have a copy of the 11th metal in my bag. :) Also, it's Lilliana. My phone doesn't accept Lilliana as a word for some reason, and turns it into Lillian.

She grinned wider.

Yes, but Hoblim doesn't know that, so... And also, see my post.

And nobody noticed Hoblim speaking in a weird, unknown language yet! Though he probably spoke very quietly.

Again: you cannot see the spike from any angle. Please edit your post to reflect that. Kelsier may be reckless, but he’s not a fool. That spike is fully concealed.

Trésor thanked the waiter as he began laying out trays of food. A full Scadrian country breakfast was laid out for Lilliana and Daryen. A glass plate full of fruit and glass of water was given to Hoblim.

The Survivor was handed a platter of Scadrian toast lightly dusted with powdered sugar, granola bits, and adorned with slices of fresh fruit. A small bowl of freshly whipped cream was placed to the side of the plate and cup of foamy cappuccino to the upper right. Trésor was given a sunny side egg an two sliced of toast, one with butter and one with avocado. A large frozen coffee was hers as well.

The waiter completed the spread with a basket of breads and croissants, with a selection of butters, olive tapenade, roast garlic and guacamole on the side. Beside this he laid down a platter of pastries: turnovers, sweet croissants, cheese buns, cinnamon twists, coffee bars, and a wide selection of muffins. A pot of coffee, another of tea, and pitchers of water and orange juice were placed at strategic points about the tables.

”If you need anything else...”

Kelsier waved him away. “Thank you, but this will do for now.”

Bowing, the waiter departed.

Well. If I'm sure about anything, it's that this definitely beats my granola bars. I didn't know how hungry I was until I saw this. She poured herself a glass of water.

“I apologize,” Lord Elariel told Hoblim, “but it was the best we could do on short notice. You are the only one here who can turn on the fires and watch the kitchens, and we weren’t certain which ingredients were allowed without supervising the initial production.

”Hopefully, we’ll be able to arrange something better for the future. Though I’m afraid you will have to manage without meat, unless you know how to slaughter?”

Since Era 2 Basin Scadrial is Victorian Englandish, this is your breakfast: The "traditional" full English breakfast, treated as a dish rather than a meal, includes bacon fried, poached or scrambled eggs, fried or grilled tomatoes, fried mushrooms, fried bread or buttered toast, and sausagesBlack puddingbaked beans, and bubble and squeak are also often included. The food is traditionally served with tea or coffee, as well as fruit juices. This is also known as a ‘fry up’.

Kelsier prefers a Western/Central Dominance breakfast, which tends to be small and light (Ie. French).
