so, you see, I saw this post by @Vapor:

which raised my suspicions because vapor is not a solid, therefore it cannot melt. It was at this point that I realized that @Vapor was not vapor at all, but ice, the only form of water that melts and requires a freezer to refreeze (gelatin is another form, along with protein-rich stocks, but they solidify in the refrigerator, therefore not requiring a freezer)
