Janice sat down in the sailboat, hugging her knees to her chest and trying not to cry.

Brother Sparrow rummaged in his satchel for a moment before drawing out a vial filled with viscous green liquid and handing it to Janice. "Drink this. It will dull your pain and allow you to sleep more easily. I shall fetch your companion in a moment."

Janice took the liquid, unspeaking. She didn't do anything with it, opting to instead bury her face in her knees.

"I cannot force you to take it if you do not wish to, but know that the pain will return if I let go of you. Please make your choice swiftly; I do not wish to leave your companion in the rain any longer than necessary."

Janice hesitated, then unstoppered the vial and took a sip.

Vespyr was curled up quite contentedly, soaked to the bone.  They'd often needed to sleep exposed to all sorts of weather.  Nectar in conjunction with their veil had warded off most ailments, and discomfort was a luxury afforded to those who knew comfort.

Too many posts to catch up on. I really don't understand anything, and I've given up on keeping track of the thread

The colonel looked concerned as he read through whatever his device was telling him. After a brief moment of him swiping on the screen, he looked up at the rest of the group. "We need to get to the city. I have direct orders to report in, and I can't ignore them. Is Jack around still?"

@xinoehp512

"If Jack's not around, then I'll get us another ride. Are you all good to go?"

Brother Sparrow ensured the sedative had begun to take effect, then released Janice's hand, letting the pain leave him. He moved over to Vespyr's unconscious form and gently picked them up, carrying them slowly over to the boat.

Vespyr sprawled in the bottom of the boat, dead to the world.

Brother Sparrow pulled a thin blanket out of his satchel and covered Vespyr and Janice with it, then began slowly rowing towards the mainland.

The second his hand was removed, Janice promptly fell asleep.

Now this is a movement that I can get behind.

Slay the demon Before it can get more character development and I end up getting attached to it.
