Janice broke away from Lloyd. "You're not..."

She backed away, grabbing Cadenza's good arm and hiding partially behind her. "Where's Jay? And Aryanna?"

"Janice! You're ok!"

"JAY!" She grinned, dashing towards him and giving him a massive hug.

Jay holds her close

Should I come in now?

Probably, but I don't know Fadran's plan

Shidala looked at Lloyd. He were about to do something stupid. She saw that in his eyes. People here were weird. No one should be that emotionally attached to other. That only made the betrayal worse.
“Lloyd.” Shidala grabbed his hand and punched him aside to a place with less people. “What are you planning?”

"I'm gonna save my friend and then get out of here, the plan never changed. Do you want to come?" Lloyd rushed back towards the others, he wasn't going to let them kill Trace anytime soon.

“I guess that is the only way to stop you from doing that. I rather look after you before you decide to fight Trace again or something like that”

I never realized how dumb everyone thinks I am. Lloyd would just use that to his advantage.

"Are we going now?"

"I'll come back." Janice looked at Vespyr. "You said I could come back, right?"

Vespyr shrugged.  "I do not know the Queen's intent."  The wind spoke in a rush, in a swirl around the group.  It was an eerie, almost terrifying situation, as though two leaves had brushed together in just the right way to create the sound of a word.  Vespyr stayed still, barely acknowledging Lloyd.  It turned its head toward him, as if considering answering his demand, but then turned its head away.  "I am to retrieve Trace.  I am not a magic schoolbus."  That was a direct metaphor.  Vespyr made note to keep the talking to a minimum in the future.  It was best, of course, to kill the people requested quickly and efficiently.  The creature had never been sent on a fetch quest before, and the experience of communicating with people had somewhat corrupted it.

"Well, you can't retrieve Trace anymore. It's Janice instead. So I guess you'll have to go back."

Lloyd walked up to the creature, "You will take me because I will be of use to your queen. I have a powerful aspect and am willing to use it for her cause if an agreement is arranged."

"You're not Trace and Trace isn't you. You didn't promise anything!"

Vespyr tilted its head at the creature.  "Trace lives within that body.  Unconscious or not, that child is Trace.  My orders stand."

"I am not an ambassador.  The Queen sees only people that she wishes to see.  All else who attempt to approach her without her invitation to her island, I slay."  Vespyr turned its shoulders, scars and disfigurements bared.  "You should write a letter.  I will deliver this to her, but I will not deliver you like a lamb to slaughter."

Vespyr's brow twisted downward.  "I am to fulfill my order to the will of my Queen, not twist the order to fit your will."
