Condensation she/her Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 14 minutes ago, Channelknight Fadran said: "NO!" Janice screamed, either unaware or uncaring about the fact that she was saying those words aloud. "I WOULDN'T!" She was shaking, tears spilling down her face like a waterfall. Janice looked down at her hand: it was red with blood. Cadenza's blood. She had done that. With another scream, Janice took another step back, then ran into the forest. She needed to get away. Run away. RUN AWAY. "Janice!" Cadenza shouted. Her voice broke. "No," she said. "Don't go!"
Channelknight Fadran Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Just now, Condensation said: "Janice!" Cadenza shouted. Her voice broke. "No," she said. "Don't go!" "I'm sorry, Cadenza! I'm so sorry!" She closed her eyes.
Knight of Iron she/they Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 "Why are you here?" Cruz spat. "I had hoped to subdue that friend of yours, but that doesn't seem like it's happening," said Lena, arms covered in lines of blood, glowing sword in hand. "But that's not why I'm here." "Then why?" "I'm not finished with you yet, Cruz," she said. "I'll have to kill you for your crimes, or save you from your friends. Your choice."
ProfetessaOscura she/her Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Just now, Channelknight Fadran said: "I'm sorry, Cadenza! I'm so sorry!" She closed her eyes. Majesty, that HURT. It hadn't expected the child to attack uncontrollably. Vespyr crashed through a young tree, which snapped, and both fell to the ground. Vespyr stood, then absorbed the rippling vibrations, the energy Trace was expelling, just in a small bubble around the creature. Enough to stand its ground. Then, enough to approach. Vespyr began to glow from the effort, super-charged. What energy it was taking from Janice was adding to the energy supplied by the Nectar. Smoking skin? That wasn't a good sign. A human body wasn't designed to hold one Quoral of corruption, much less to take on so much more. No, this wasn't healthy at all. Vespyr would need to end this quickly. It lurched forward, losing much of its former grace. Its mask CRACKED. Underneath... was a silk black hood. A second mask, fitting neatly over the face. Well, it had almost been something of a reveal, at least. Vespyr did not lunge at Janice time. It lunched at the knife. A dead target was no victory at all.

Vespyr yanked at the knife, removing it from the picture. It had taken... strength, much of it, just to fight what had been holding that dagger in place. "It is time for us to go." The winds were a roar, mingling with the spiraling shockwaves of power Janice was currently emitting.
Channelknight Fadran Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 She didn't have anything left to say. Janice kept crying, trying desperately to end herself.

Slowing the vibration of the heart, relaxing the muscles. In another life, in another time and place... Vespyr could have been a physical therapist. "Calm yourself."

Knight of Iron she/they Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 "I..." Cruz couldn't find any words. "What will it be, Cruz? I don't want to have to kill you." "But... you killed Sebastian. You killed my friends. They were all I had..." A tear formed in Cruz's eye. Lena crouched down, clothing covered in blood. "I am truly sorry for that, Cruz. I didn't know how much they meant to you, I only knew of their murders." "And... you would take me back?"

Quote The mask has already crumbled away, there's a hood, like a ski-mask with no eyes, that might burn away or be yanked off. The flare of energy burst over Vespyr's face, burning back the hood, singing the clothes down past the shoulders. Tassels fell as they shriveled away. Vespyr froze, suddenly bare from the shoulders up. You still couldn't tell if it was masculine or feminine. The bones of the face had been cracked and reformed, the shape macabre. The nose twisted, healed at odd angles, as if it had been snapped multiple times. The eyes... the eyes were gone, large scars over smooth skin where there were no hollows even, nothing to indicate eyes had ever existed. The most notable disfiguration, was the skin color. Janice couldn't tell what color the skin had been initially, before it had been scarred over. There were large slashes on top of slashes on top of slashes, scars overlapping, as though this creature were a patchwork of silver slashes. The scars gleamed, not a square centimeter of flesh left unmarred. This wasn't human. This hadn't been human in a long, long time. Vespyr froze in shock, then reflexively turned from Janice, gloved hands covering the distorted, disgusting features.
Condensation she/her Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Cadenza followed the sound of Janice crying, bracing herself against tree after tree. "Janice, I'm coming!"

Channelknight Fadran Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Terrified, Janice pulled herself away from... whatever that thing was. She seemed to have forgotten what she was doing. The blood on her hands reminded her. Janice closed her eyes once again, holding the knifepoint to her chest. "Goodbye..." She whispered.
Knight of Iron she/they Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 "Just stop killing. You've killed innocents before, and you've been used by the nobility. Stay away from that girl." "She's in danger," he protested. "You care for her?" she asked, a little surprised. "I don't know, but you can't kill her." "Then I shall not. You have my word," then she laughed nervously. "I hope that god over there heard that."

The girl was running off to where Vespyr couldn't protect her. Marvelous. It lurched, shooting into the air, gliding parallel to the ground, then slowed alongside Janice. Vespyr placed a hand on Trace's shoulder, figuring that this was definitely not what the girl had in mind. At this point, she was probably broken and fragmented. The Queen hadn't quite finished this half-baked utensil. "Let's go," It said, firmly, without any room for a wavering protest from -what it assumed to be- Trace. 50 minutes ago, Channelknight Fadran said: An uncontrolled burst of power rolled out from around Janice, blowing down trees and knocking Vespyr away. She writhed under her guilt and pain. The knife's edge hovered, only an inch above her own death. Jay ran after the swath of destruction. "Janice! It doesn't have to be this way! We have a way to help you!" He could only see flashes through the trees, but he knew that something had changed.
