Depends on whether the people around you actually respect it. It's still nice to be out in some ways, I don't have to try to pretend to be okay with things, but when people don't actually call you what you want to be called anyway... I absolutely get how tough it is to be in a situation where you can't physically or socially transition, I don't want to downplay that. Sometimes things are complicated. But if you feel that you're a girl on the inside, that does count for being a real girl.

a lot of people don't really understand how trans/queer people in general work and well they have misguided beliefs cause of that. For example, the DSM-IV had homosexuality listed as a pathological disease.  

A lot of people see being trans or queer as a sort of malaise- their child is cishet by default in their "healthy" state, and then when they deviate from that default they search for a cause/source or a cure

Can't get too into specific politics here, but uh, bad news.  Transitioning, even as an adult, is illegal in some places, and not fully illegal but partially illegal or restricted in some places. Utah has restrictions on who can use gendered bathrooms, for example. The right to be who you are should be protected by the law, not limited by the law, but unfortunately we're not all the way there yet in most places. That doesn't change who you are, importantly! But it's not always a snap to move somewhere new. So as much as I'd love for everyone to be able to immediately come out and transition if they want, we do have to keep some practical difficulties in mind. (Though if it's safe for you to do so, coming out is a good thing, and moving and changing laws aren't impossibilities! We should all have hope and work for change! Just, yknow, that is something that does take work and isn't a quick and easy solution.)

Shouldn't, yes. Can't, no. They can do pretty much whatever they want. In all honesty, with some of the stuff I know, it being just illegal is pretty mid-level. Still really bad, but at this point I just hope it doesn't get worse

It's so good I dedicated over 1000 hours to modding and playing it

Idk who said it was depressing or dysphoric, I think the game is neither. You'd enjoy it too. It's accessible to a wide audience. 

And yes while the protagonist is trans people didn't figure that out until years after the game had been released. When I first played it, I loved it because it was a good game and it had an impactful story. So there's no implicit mention of anything trans related :3

Are the controls easy on laptop/PC? Cuz sometimes games where I need to use like Z and X and C or whatever in addition to WASD, and then for some reason Space or some random key instead of W to jump, etc. are hard. I can prolly figure out how to hook up one of my janky PS4-controller-ripoffs to it.

Also how do you mod it? Like.. is it like romhacking or more like Minecraft modding? Does it easily allow modding or do you have to figure it out yourself? I'm fine with either tbh.

Also it's pretty cheap on Steam rn

I play on laptop girl. But you can rebind the keys easily if you enjoy using WASD.

You can mod it using the free community-maintained Everest modloader, and then find the mods you want on gamebanana and download them in a single click, and then you can literally play them right in the game. It's super easy to set up. 

If you want to create mods, you just install Lonn, which is easy to find through the launchpad of Everest (and takes remarkably little time to download) and it's fairly linear... You'll probably need to follow some tutorials for that

It's not paid at all. I haven't paid a dime for the modloader and the community is kind people and it's free (as long as you have the base game)

I'd recommend playing it blind (without prior knowledge) though, but the Tas are funny cause the movement potential is endless in this game

It's an indie platformer game of immaculate quality. It is quite popular among the LGBTQ community and the speed running community. It has a meaningful story and is also just an amazing game
