Shard of Reading he/him Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 First I need to say that going for word count is super annoying. I have been ninja’d like 700 times. Spoiler 20 minutes ago, Ashbringer said: (Not quoting anyone because on mobile and through different pages it’s hard.) Just saying, I could be very wrong about what the Kandra is. However, we can’t ignore what it’s not. It’s not an SK role, since the Village/Elims can win over its head. It also doesn’t directly state whether it comes with a kill ability, or if it has Metallic abilities. However, it has to either have some form of killing or of surviving/perpetuating itself in order to have more than a random chance at victory. And the fact that the former isn’t specified makes me think it’s the latter. So it has to do something, we just have no real idea what that ability will be. I don’t think it’s Hemalurgy, either. I suppose the Kandra could have 1-2 uncharged spikes, but if you start as a Hemalurgist it sounds like you get a once-per-game kill that generates a spike in the black market, not in your inventory. Which wouldn’t help the Kandra any more than just having a kill ability or being a Coinshot would. If the Kandra doesn’t have some secret advantage, they’d have to play both sides perfectly in order to get them both to die off on the same turn. While I feel like it would be fun to attempt, I don’t think it could be pulled off, especially regarding voter parity. Again, I’m more worried about the elims. I agree. I think that they just start with 1 spike and a thief ability or something like that. I am not certain because we know so little about this role. We also should avoid looking for them because of how many people there are and how many false leads we will probably find before the game is over. 5 minutes ago, The Young Pyromancer said: Does the kandra start with any other abilities? Pyro to answer your question read me and ashbringer’s previous posts for theories. Now, my thoughts on feruchemist abilities. Most of them take a fair amount of time to stor up before they can do anything really good (Like gold you need to spend several turns with a chance to die before you can do anything) The only one with an immediate positive affect is a skimmer. Steel is also only good in combination with a good metal. If you had steel and aluminum good luck you can’t do anything. Mist, because you asked I want to know your role and alignment. Now. Or else I will kill you.

I’m curious as well. The cap on gasper word counts is all I see in the rules. Quote Leecher: You can burn chromium and target another player, cancelling their action for that turn. (Both) A roleblock. Another village power role- potentially even more powerful in this game, due to the actions that cause weakening. I have questions about this similar to that of a Pulser- what happens if the target takes multiple actions on the cycle you target them? What about the turn? Does the Leeching action need to share a cycle with the target action, or just the turn? Quote Nicroburst: You can burn nicrosil and target another player, allowing them to take an extra action the next turn. (Both) Because this is a role that affects others, it makes sense that this would be a role that reveals to others in order to work in conjunction with them. Of course, you should always be careful when roleclaiming, lest you give the elims too much information, so you’ll have to weigh the benefits against the risks yourself. Quote Aluminum Gnat: You can burn aluminum, cancelling your action for the next turn. (Both) A totally useless role, as far as I can see. I don’t think there are any actions that cause redirection of self-targeting actions. It could maybe, maybe be used to appear to take an action that you actually don’t, but I’m not sure it does even that. (Not that that would be a very useful thing to do, either.) @StrikerEZ

Like if you bought something and I didn't I could still earn more then 25 per turn.
Experience he/him Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Might as well tag @StrikerEZ so he can clear this up. How does the boxing cap work? Is it personal, or for everyone once one person has bought something?
Ashbringer he/him Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 (edited) Faleast watched as a crowd gathered in one corner, led by three people all wanting to hear what someone called Lumen wanted to say. He thought it strange that so many would start accusing the same individual, even if they were all mostly frozen in shock. Then again, Lumen had evidently failed to say anything in his defense or to accuse another, merely muttering something about the mist and the rule doc everyone had, supposedly, seen. Only now that he was accused did his head rear. But the same silence could be attributed for many in this room. Then an individual turned and pointed to him. “You, Faleast. Do you have an excuse? Or will you just sit there alone?” Faleast sat up and shrugged. “I haven’t seen anything to draw my attention. I also don’t want to draw unwarranted attention. I just want to figure out if these Loyalists are the only threat that we have.” He nodded to himself. “There’s been a Kandra in the area. Who knows what a Faceless Immortal is capable of.” ——————— 59 minutes ago, The Young Pyromancer said: Everyone's been saying that. Feels like you're trying to blend in here. Coda, Ashbringer. Not a very solid vote, but at least it's actually based on something. I just added it because I didn’t want my giant post on the fears that the Kandra could do more damage than we think to be taken as a suggestion towards starting another Kandra hunt. I’m worried, but I’d rather we let something actually happen before I act on that worry. And to be honest, I am trying to blend in, a bit. I don’t know what keys people off that a person is either Village or Elim, so I’m just trying to act neutral and natural. And people keep ninja’ing my long post... I’ll leave it at that. If you have any other questions let me know. Edited June 4, 2020 by Ashbringer Back to just “someone”
Araris Valerian he/him Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I’d just like to clarify that my vote on @Mist is not looking for a post or any specific content. It’s me saying that Mist is a perfectly good lynch target this cycle that I am comfortable (albeit less so because they are new) with. In my opinion, poke votes are nearly always useless, so just assume that my vote is not a poke vote in general. Using the @ping function is a decent way to poke people which lets you vote on someone you actually want dead. 1
Experience he/him Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Wow! Already four pages of posting! And there's not really much to take out of it. It's mostly just been short messages about questions. Maybe I should actually try and get some analysis of what has been said so far.
|TJ| he/him Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Lmao, Striker is gonna have a hard time going through all of these when he comes back 2

The Young Pyromancer he/him Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 I'm asking all my questions in-thread. @Ashbringer, if that was supposed to be me, you should know my character is a young girl.

xinoehp512 he/him Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Quote Duralumin Gnat: You can burn duralumin, making it so that you have an extra action on the next turn. (Both) Similar to the Nicroburst, but self-contained. Essentially, you store up an action for later. This could be used multiple times in order to perpetuate the extra action until it is needed. The extra action could be an additional storing action, an item action, or potentially allow a Twinborn to store, tap and burn all at once. Quote Steelrunner: While storing in steel, you will be unable to take any other actions for that cycle. While tapping 1 steel charge, you can take an extra action. For each extra charge you tap, you can take another extra action. (Both) Useful for storing up actions, similar to duralumin. I am curious as to whether it works against itself- can you only store one steel per cycle? Per turn? The prohibition against using the same action twice in one turn means that even though the amount that can be stored is unbounded, the actual effectiveness of multiple tapping actions is limited. If Hemalurgy was used to grant another Feruchemical power, perhaps one dangerous to store, such as gold or bendalloy, this power could let you store multiple times at once, limiting the negative effects that you receive. Quote Skimmer: While storing in iron, you have a 25% chance of avoiding any actions taken against you. Storing in iron twice at once gives you a 50% chance of avoiding any actions taken against you. (Both) A self-protect. This is the only feruchemical power that does not have a tapping power- instead, storing is the power. As far as I can tell, storing is unbounded, so this is essentially the same as an allomantic ability except that you can use both actions on it.
Guest Coda Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 (edited) I clearly lack the verbosity to win the posting competition, so I'll shall simply analyze the game. Hopefully I won't be ninja'd by the loquacious participants of the game. EDIT ninja'd by xino, I spent a long time writing this. Ignore anything that xino said already. Roles to be aware of: Tineye; Use to discover killers. No downside to using this, so just target people at will. Pulser: This is interesting because of the possibilities. @StrikerEZ, does this replace their intended action next turn or does it happen in addition to their action next turn? If the former, then you basically roleblock them one turn. If the latter, you've given yourself one turn to eliminate them before everything balances again. Slider; I like this role for the sheer madness of RNG. Use this just for fun. Duralumin Gnat: Since extra actions are not subject to the distinct action rule, you could use this one turn, then twice the next turn, then four times the turn after, and on and on until you can use your other role to ruin everything with a million extra actions. Skimmer: No downside to storing, does nothing when tapped. Store two every round. Firesoul: If you manage to survive long enough to store 6 charges, this will be amazing. @StrikerEZ, if a Firesoul is lynched and uses this ability, will the people who voted on them die? Archivist: Use this every turn. Depending on the GMs, it could be amazing or awful, but there is no downside. Sentry: Not voting or PMing at night isn't too bad, especially considering you can PM in the day. Store as much as you can. Gasper: Good for the quiet people. If you really need to say anything, just make a PM with all players in it. Store as much as you can. Connector: Vote shenanigans, and you don't even have to worry about looking suspicious by not voting. Store as much as you can. Hemalurgist: A once per game kill. Use this very wisely. Questions; Is the boxing cap per person? Is the reward for RP and analysis per post of >200 words or every 200 words? Edited June 4, 2020 by Coda
