Ok, I'll get rid of it.

My newly vetoed character:

Name: Lance

Physical Characteristics: Tall, thin, one blue eye, one black eye

Investiture: F-Steel Via Hemalurgy, possible willshaper (is being investigated by a lightspren, but has spoken no ideals).

Skills: Annoying people, and getting to places he shouldn't be able to.

Equipment: A pain fabrial

Weakness: Hates vegetables, literally cannot eat them without throwing up.

Family: See backstory

Home Planet: Roshar

Backstory: Lance is a beaver that has become human through hemalurgy. One spike.

Guild: VoidBreakers (founder of new guild)

Psyche: Cynical?

Personality: Has a tendency to go off on tangents, and is prone to turning everything into a joke

Appearance: Brown, beaver-shade hair, and slightly larger teeth than normal

Theme Song: No theme song YET

Fighting Style: Tends to drop things on his opponents from a distance

Is this better?

Now that Voidus has been kind enough (thank you, Voidus!) to approve him, I would like to request Stravomenos be added to my character list.

Spoiler

Name: Stravomenos Synais

Physical Characteristics: Depends on his emotional state and severity, but generally a golden-haired, jolly, bearded man, standing 6'1" in his normal form.

Investiture: A Nightwatcher combo: his boon is to be able to put things in the right places they'll need to be in. His curse is that his body warps with his emotional spikes, the severity depending on the deepness of the emotion and the form the warping takes depends on the emotion/emotional combo. It can even interfere with him doing stuff and his way of thinking.

Skills: Scholarship (Skilled), Staff training (Average)

Equipment: Titanium staff

Weakness: The Nightwatcher's curse

Family: None. They died during the first passing of the Everstorm.

Home Planet: Roshar

Backstory: Stravomenos has always valued being honest, even if he likes to tell jokes, so when he hopped a boat that passed by the valley where the Nightwatcher was supposed to be placed, granting the gifts of Old Magic to those who made it to her, he hopped off to go try his luck. He asked for the boon of being able to look the way he felt. Unfortunately, the Nightwatcher made it his curse instead, his body mutating to match his emotions, giving him the boon of being able to put things in a place they'll need to be.

Guild: None

Personality: Tries to be very stoic to prevent unecessary warping, even if he likes to tell jokes. It doesn't always work. Very hard on himself for what he sees as his failures, including visiting the Nightwatcher.

Theme Song: Heidevolk - A Wolf In My Heart

Fighting Style: Using whatever he has at hand, plus his staff, to pummel opponents.

For the benefit of those who weren't around back then, the Stranger is from back when things were a little more chaotic (Hard to believe I know) pre-Alleyverse. One of the first denizens of the Dark Alley. So consider the OP levels to be extreme with this one but he's been a part of canon since before the Alleyverse existed. I know this can seem unfair to people but this was one of the things that was agreed upon at the creation of the Alleyverse.

If anyone has any specific issues related to this please feel free to let someone from the mod team know and we can have a discussion about how best to handle this.

Weren't strangers also DA abominations released in the seven day war? The ones that stored identity to be nearly undetectable assassins?

I mean.

That would also mean Winter could come back with two shards.

So...

It was probably an homage from someone in R&D.

So...

For canonicity sake it'd probably be retconned to something other than the actual Shards but yeah, that is the setting that we're all in. If something causes issues then it can be discussed but Winter didn't tend to abuse that power to railroad plots or anything so honestly I'd say it'd probably work out fine even if that did happen.

That is true.

I'd actually have fun with that situation :P

Nothing stopping the same kinds of characters from emerging in the future, for this era people said they wanted more balanced characters but we could well reverse that in future eras.

Technically you could even try to get an OP character approved this era, though we haven't had many requests so far but one of them was indeed approved.

Same, honestly I'm all for power creep, it makes sense to me in a setting like the alleyverse so long as it's kept in check, power levels like those during the SDW made one of the most interesting times to RP for me where creative power sets could really be utilised fully.

I think part of it is building up a history, ideally we see characters grow over time to become powerful. Just creating an OP character is a lot less satisfying and their power level can end up defining them rather than their personality or history.

New Character,  Warden

Spoiler

Name: Warden

Physical characteristics: 5'5" 120 lbs; 22 years old; short, brown hair;

Personality: Constantly afraid of being lost, friendly, determined, protective of other people

Skills: Average with handguns, Genius, average scholar of Epic abilities, skilled at survival stuff like hunting and foraging that type of stuff

Equipment: a handgun, a map of alleycity, a knife

Power: Epic, can create disks of "air" (not really air just the best way to describe it) a foot in diameter and half an inch thick, they are nearly impossible to break or move once placed, she can place them anywhere she can see, can have up to 3 at a time, they look like a disk of very thin glass, a tineye could see it if they were looking for it, but most people won't be able to.

Weakness:

Epic: Feeling lost, this will weaken her disks depending on how lost she feels, if she is actually lost she won't be able to create disks. This also applies to feeling lost in conversations and abstract things like that though those don't seriously impact her powers.

Other: she doesn't like being alone, gets nervous if she's alone. Doesn't know how to fight very well.

Family: Parents, Deceased

Home Planet: Reckoners-Earth

Backstory: Warden lived in decently sized but isolated town in Montana, when she was 8 she got lost in a forest for 4 days, and the experience was truamatizing for Warden. a few years later Warden decided that she wouldn't ever get lost in that forest again so she would spend a few hours a day exploring the forest until she became comfortable with it and could spend days at a time in there. When Calamity rose Warden was 15 and spending a multiple day trip in the forest, she went back to her home town only to find it demolished by one of the towns people turned epic. Everyone in the town was dead and the epic had moved on. She spent the next few years working for more powerful epics as a bodyguard, until one day she saw a strange rift in an alleyway, curious she walked closer and got sucked in and dumped in Alleycity.

Guild: unaffiliated

Hey, can someone add the Steelblood siblings to my character list, and remove them from the adopt a character list?

Here are the slightly different versions, no powers changed, just personalities edited a bit.

New Character Idea... I've heard about the new limits to epic powers, but I've reviewed it and am pretty confident this work.

Quote

Name: Titus "Morph" Maximus

Physical Characteristics: Lanky but Muscular, about 6'1. Normally blonde hair, kept wavy and combed off to the right with a lower than normal hairline, causing the hair to naturally fall over the eyes. Deep Blue eyes, set close together in the middle of the face. He is missing an eye, due to an attack by a wild bear as a child, so he always wears an eye patch for multiple reasons.  Tends to walk around barefoot, so worn callouses lie on the bottom of his feet.  His hair and eye color stay at this color mostly, but due to his epic power (see below) his hair and eyes are naturally changing, but are also influenced by his emotions and specific surrounding.

Appearance: Wears a large black coat that covers most of his upper body; good at concealing himself. Wears bandana around the lower half of face, wanting as little visible as possible when out and about

Investiture: Epic Power; the ability to change his skin texture, material, strength, appearance, characteristics, and in certain cases, his entire body to an element he is touching. The material must be in contact with skin to morph. In cases of loose solids (sand, dirt), liquids, and gases, his entire body is changed. Throughout all changes, he retains normal brain functions. He must retain contact with the object/material.

Skills: Adept at hand-to-hand combat. Advanced muscular strength and endurance to be able to manage the weights of transforming.

Equipment: Takes advantages of missing eye, with an eye patch holding in small ball bearings of different materials. Carries around a bow staff and small dagger.

Weakness: Melons (Watermelon, Cantaloupe) put him in a catatonic state in which he can only be awakened by powerful magic or smelling salts. The melon must come in contact with his original skin, or in his body, to take action. While in this state, he cycles between his normal state and all the elements and/or materials he is touching as a natural instinct. He awakens in a daze in which he would be rendered unable to fight and opened to questioning.

Family/Backstory: Washed away to an enormous tidal wave as Titus was a child. Titus developed his epic power here, sinking into the sand and surviving the brunt of the wave, but later wishing he had been caught up in it, rather than live the rest of his life lonely. He has taken up bounty hunting just to get more of a feel for life.

Personality: When around friends, he is energetic and often the center of attention due to his unique power. When amongst enemies, he is ruthless and determined to not give up until the fight is over. While alone, he is shy an not open to conversation as easily.

I give permission to @Ark1002, seeing as he helped me create this character, and i'm not sure how active i can be in the approaching weeks.

Spoiler

Name: Tels Sultone

Physical description: Tels is 6'5, but still pretty skinny: strength is not his forte, but he is pretty agile. He has a narrow face as well, with a thief's face, thin-ish eyes, and a bold, narrow nose. His eyes are gray, and his hair is a chestnut colored.

Personality: Tels is a bold man, one who is unafraid to try dangerous things: He loves taking risks. Rig grew up in the streets of Dayside Taldain, spending years as a thief and living a cut-throat life. He is ruthless, and has a limited capacity for mercy. He will usually be thinking about how to steal whatever's in the room at the time, which will often cause trouble for him. Deep down, he has some good in him, but that side of himself does not show often.

Powers: Tels eventually discovered, though, that he was a sand mage, quickly becoming a self-taught sand master rather than going to the Diem. He can weave about 25 ribbons, all with incredible skill. Eventually, through many strange events, Tels found himself a part-time worldhopper on Roshar, where he received a boon from the Nightwatcher to create white sand out of any material. This is similar to soulcasting, but specifically with Taldain's sand. His bane was that he cannot hold anything, it slips from his grasp in a similar manner as a wet soap bar would. He basically cannot physically cannot interact with anything around him, forcing him to use sand to do everything, which causes the problem of dehydration.

Weakness: Tels is more than horrified of axehounds. A giant bug, that can move fast on four legs... *involuntarily shudders*

Other Stuff: Tels always has water on him. Always. Probably enough for 5 people, if not more.

Figured that with my old character (probably) dead, I should create a new character for all of this PlasmaCore stuff going down.

@Voidus @MacThorstenson  Could you review this character? This guy probably won't meddle with the Dark Alley:P

Darn it. The one time there's a character to score, it's a magic system I can't do. Dang it. Well, I would say it can't be too high.
