We try to avoid having links to major canonical characters in backstories, otherwise things could get a little weird. Also the cosmere doesn't directly have any ties with the Rithmatist earth so barring Hoid using the Alleyverse as a waystop he would be unable to reach it. Part of the weird kind of psuedo-canonicity we have going.

This is the first character bio I've written for anything in a while, please tell me if I messed up anything!

Name: Berkeley Norfolk

Investiture: has 1,000 breaths (fourth heightening)

Weakness: Terrified of Thieves, mostly unskilled in combat.

Special skills and Weapons:

Skills: Awakener, Amatuer at hand-to-hand combat, and is a skilled scholar.

Weapons: Aluminum dagger, Lifeless named Straggler

Equipment: Work in progress guide to Investiture, Awakened pen, Engraved Family Ring (stores breath inside when necessary)

Physical characteristics: 23 year old, Tall, male Nalthian, with amber eyes and dirty blond hair.  

Usually wears bright blue robe, dark green pants, and a brown shirt with several cloths for awakening.

Mother and Father: Deceased

Aunt: Brighthue (Returned)

Home Planet: Nalthis

History/Biography: Berk was born into a somewhat poor family until his aunt Mariana died in a accident where a insane person gave a lifeless to “kill all the non-believers!” the lifeless went into a craze and murdered its owner, Maraina, and a few others it could before being stopped. After his aunt returned, Berk’s parents and Mariana’s daughter demanded large amounts of money or they would tell Mariana (renamed Brighthue) who she was. The priests reluctantly complied and Berk’s family lived in luxury for several years, until his parents died when being mugged for their large amounts of purchased breath. After seeking an escape from hallandren and all the memories, he discovered a caravan inside the Alleyverse and joined it for a  few years. Now, after writing and publishing his experiences, he wishes to write a guide to all the different manifestations of Investiture (magic systems, shards, etc) and decided the Alleycity should make for a great place to gather information.

Name: Nultūk (null-took), goes by Nul

Physical Description: On the shorter side, he's got dark brown hair, gray eyes, a slightly upturned nose, and roundish face. He's 20ish years old, still very young.

Powers: Nultūk a Willshaper of the 3rd ideal. His first oath is the norm, his second oath is "I will fight for the preservation of discovery, and for knowledge, and never for my own personal gain." This means that the only way for Nultūk to hurt others is when there is a direct correlation between the person he is hurting and the knowledge he needs to protect (like he could kill a person who was going to burn down a library, or directly destroy knowledge, but it takes a lot of convincing to his spren to let him kill anybody else.). In addition to that, he cannot fight for himself, for any reason except in extreme self-defense. This means he's going to do a lot of sneaking around to get what he needs to do done, and very rarely fighting. To help with this, he went to the Nightwatcher, (after speaking his third ideal) and asked for a boon to never make any sound when he moves. Ironically, he got two curses, one of them the blessing itself. His blessing causes him to not be able to talk or make any noise at all, due to the fact that any time his vocal chords move, they are silenced. This prevents him from moving forward in his ideals. He is stuck on his third ideal, and as of right now, he has no idea if he can move forward He communicates using sign language to his spren, who can communicate this to others. This causes a few problems as he is unable to communicate quickly in a crisis, or give any sound of warning. In addition to this, using his spren alerts everyone that he is a surgebinder. His curse from the Nightwatcher was that he needs stormlight to survive. He needs about two spheres per day, and can survive about three days without any stormlight. This has caused him to try and find a perfect gem to use to hold and indefinite amount of stormlight. His third ideal goes as follows: "I will always find another way." Basically, this means that if he does anything that disagrees with his ideals, he will always try to find another way to achieve that same goal using different methods. He's also considering using hemalurgy, but he's very hesitant, and wants to find someone that's totally willing to give up their powers (and life).

Homeworld: Roshar.

Personality: Nultūk didn't choose to become a world-hopping, knowledge-seeking dude. One day, while exploring some uncharted seas of Roshar, he bonded to a spren and just kinda rolled with it. Now though, it's his life goal to fight for what he believes to be right, and study the mysteries of the Alleyverse.

Weapons: When he fights, he uses a shardblade in one hand and shortsword in the other, fighting bezerker styler, trusting stormlight to heal him.

Appearance: Wears your typical trousers and shirt with loose robes over those, and a hood usually up. 

Strengths: Headstrong, curious, and adventurous

Weaknesses: Headstrong, curious, and adventurous

Family: Unknown, he was raised by a boat captain, and has a deep love for the sea, and can sail fairly well.

Thank you! I pretty sure I put the third oath in near the bottom, it states "I will find another way" (sorry the way I wrote it was formatted a bit wierd:P)

Another character! Bio below. I'm willing to change this if he's too OP, I'm not intending him to be a combat character but giving him zero fighting experience also seemed incongruous with his occupation/background.

Physical Characteristics: Male, 29, dark blonde hair, light amber brown eyes, ~6’ tall, lean, sharp-featured

Investiture: Hereditary Bronze ferring, hemalurgic spike granting Bronze allomancy (effectively Bronze compounder)

Skills: Surveillance and watch-keeping, tailing people (expert), spike/knife-fighting (average working ability, defensive not combat-trained), Smart

Equipment: One long stiletto spike-knife, knuckledusters, bronze metalminds - several piercing his body, bronze metal vials for Seeking, flask full of alcohol for recreation

Weakness: Mental stability is fractured, will often hallucinate, break down, or become emotionally volatile and reckless. This is augmented by stress. Drinks habitually to simulate “sleep”/mental oblivion. Spikes make him more vulnerable to emotional allomancy (mostly from his bronzeminds, several of which are pierced into his body). Depression resulting from unprocessed guilt.

Family: On Scadrial, unknown whereabouts

Home Planet: Scadrial (Era 2)

Backstory: Trent was hired as a watchman due to his ability to stay awake for long periods of time after storing wakefulness. After miscalculating his reserves, he passed out on duty and the majority of his household was killed in a robbery. He was fired and left the Elendel basin, wandering until he fell in with a caravan of worldhoppers who paid him to keep watch. His guilt over his failures led to very troubled sleep, so he tried to avoid sleeping as long as possible. When they traveled through the Alleyverse he decided to stay, doing mercenary work for a while until he heard about hemalurgy and the DA. Once he received his bronze allomancy spike, he effectively never had to sleep again, compounding bronze to remain awake in perpetuity. His constant wakefulness and newfound Seeker ability made him the ideal person for surveillance and tailing work, and he began working as a Counterintelligence field agent, sometimes aiding Denizens in seeking out new test subject victims, other times just keeping an eye on things. After several years of compounding Bronze, Trent is now incapable of sleeping, and it is slowly driving him insane.

Guild: DA

Personality: Snarky, perceptive, and charismatic, he enjoys company but also does not highly value human life any longer, mostly as a reaction to his failure to protect his household. This about-face is a coping mechanism to ease his guilt, which still haunts him, though he would never admit it willingly. He shoves his problems under a veneer of charm and drinking. He is usually focused on the job at hand when working, but is prone to aimless hedonism and wild excess when without a mission. He is clever enough to learn about the science behind hemalurgy, but is currently too depressed to care much about it. When he's feeling less depressed than usual, he enjoys baking.

Equipment: Grandbow, two knives, an ornate bracelet with a ruby in the center used to store stormlight, necklace with her sister's name on it. 

Weakness: Irrational at times and has trouble relating to people. Never thinks before she does/says anything. Long scar down stomach and left leg due to a fall from tree. 

Family: None alive. Her sister was Taniya. 

Home Planet: Roshar (Kharbranth)

Backstory: Born into a lighteyed family in Kharbranth. 7th dahn. Her mother died while giving birth to her. Her father never forgave her for this, and sent her off to become an ardent at the age of 13. She stayed at the University of Kharbranth, taking extensive courses. She eventually got fed up with it and ran off to join a caravan. This was where she got her combating

Investiture: Can block any attack while activated, but drains power fairly quickly, can get investiture from food

Skills:Put everything into melee combat

Equipment: Mysterious armor which is very weak against physical attacks, but can block most investiture attacks, aluminum shield

Weakness: Rfefuses to kill or permanently disble any one (sort of like rock from bridge 4)

Family: None. They were all killed while he was at combat shcool one day.

Home Planet: Roshar

Backstory:Unknown

Guild:Currently unaffiliated, but hopful

Psyche: Very philosifical, but will be stubborn in if he thinks you are wrong

Personality: Quiet, thoughtful, thinks before speaking even when in a rush.

So one thing that I always ask for knight radiants are their oaths, do you have any idea what her oaths might have been and how they affected her?

Thanks! 

The dustbringer attributes are brave and obedient. I don't know what others have said. I feel like those lend themselves (in a broader sense) towards serving others - no matter what.

2nd - I will serve others even when it does not serve me.

3rd - I will be courageous even if the thing that scares me most is myself

*falls out of hole in the ceiling* So, after enough months to thoroughly disappoint myself, I finally managed to perfect my character. :P

Voidus has already approved her, but if anyone else has something to say I'd love to hear it.

Name: Deteca Nutvry

Appearance: Female. Thirty-eight. Very short hair, Iriali gold; could probably be mistaken for male if haircut alone was looked at. Pale skin, a few freckles on arms. Dark blue eyes. Not especially strong muscles; very slim; slightly shorter than the average height for her age.

Magic: [REDACTED] (Currently none, but she'll...pick some up. It has been factored into her score.)

Skills: Intelligence - Intelligent: 30; Assassination - less than Amateur: 10; Melee Weapon Combat Training - Average: 35; Poison Mixing - Amateur: 5; Scholarship - Skilled: 30; Cookie Making - Expert: +10 to Scholarship

Equipment: Basically anything she needs she can get from TUBA.

Weaknesses: Her parents are a liability, and she would do a lot to keep them safe. If someone mentions Dieka, she freezes up a little and has to visibly shake herself out of it. She prefers to stay out of fights when possible, and often has a hard time making herself do stuff. She's freaked out at even the slightest mention of more mature topics and is deathly frightened of failing her guild.

Family: Her parents are, shockingly, both alive. Her mother was from Iri, but worldhopped out of Roshar the first chance she got and found her way to Alleycity. Her father had lived there most of his life, but is ethnically Elisian. She had a younger sister named Dieka, who is deceased.

Home Planet: The Alleyverse. She was born and raised in the Alleycity, and while she has left, she always returns.

Backstory: Deteca was born and raised in the Alleyverse, mostly the Alleycity, where her parents live. Dieka was born five years after her, but died in an accident when she was ten. The accident almost claimed Deteca's life as well, and she would've accepted it right then, but she lived due to luck. Dieka's death caused Deteca to turn to the Dark Alley in her grief. She quickly realized it wasn't for her when Mace asked her to reconsider and join TUBA; she did so, becoming a loyal member. During all the interesting plot stuff (you know what I mean), Deteca kept in touch with TUBA with a spanreed while either an undercover spy or delivering cookies to faraway Shardworlds. When Storm stepped down from TUBA's leadership, Deteca took up the position. She has since returned to the Alleycity.

Guild: The Underground Baker's Association - TUBA

Psyche: Sane, for the most part, except for certain moments in her past. Sometimes depression crops up, but she doesn't tolerate herself being that way for long and usually pretends nothing's wrong.

Personality: Friendly, competitive, likes to make others laugh, has trouble coming across as serious sometimes when she wants to, loves most forms of sugar (especially chocolate). Extremely supportive when it comes to her guild, hates it whenever she can't do something to help them.

Theme Song: Flares by the Script

Fighting Style: Avoid it if at all possible. If not, get help.

One of the more satisfying 'Submit Reply's I've clicked in a while.
