xinoehp512 he/him Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Here's one more character for the new era. Spoiler Name: Reylf Investiture/Skills: Epic ability of flight. Weakness: Cockiness to the point of arrogance. Physical Characteristics: Black hair and brown eyes. About 20 years old. Family: Two adoptive parents. Home: A peaceful farm in the north of the Alleycontinent, where his adoptive parents live. Backstory: Reylf washed up on a beach far in the north of the Alleycontinent with severe amnesia when he was fifteen. He was rescued by an older couple who were visiting the beach. They took him back to their farm and nursed him back to health, discovering in the process his ability to fly. Since he still could not remember anything about his past, he decided to live with the older couple for a few years. Eventually, he grew restless and decided to leave and seek his fortune in the wide world, perhaps discovering his past in the process. I can't remember- do characters that overcome their weaknesses still have reduced effects, or are they weakness-free?

I'd prefer if the information about their childhood was included anyway, even if they don't know about it. I should cc @Voidus on this, but in my opinion, assuming there are reasonable limitations on his ability to fly (regarding speed, height, and duration), this is a non-OP power. And he has no listed skills, so he's likely not OP overall. I believe that Epics who overcome their weaknesses are no longer affected by it. From the Coppermind's Epic page: Quote If the Epic can overcome that fear, the insanity caused by Calamity's influence is dissipated, allowing them to keep the powers but also their original, untainted personality. I don't know if their old weakness should be included on the bio, even if it has been overcome. I would, as character development. That would also clearly indicate what has happened, as it's not clearly stated at this time in the bio. Something like 'Epic Weakness: Fire (overcome)' or .'..Post-Calamity Epic so no Epic weakness' is how I would go about mentioning it. 1

I have the stuff, but I couldn't get it to come out right, and I wanted to get it in before the start of era 3. I'll give you what I have, though. He was born to a High Epic mother, and developed his Epic powers at a young age, but his father kidnapped him, and, because his epic weakness was large amounts of water, took him to live on a boat in the middle of the ocean. When he was fifteen, the boat was attacked near a whirlpool. He managed to save his father (overcoming his weakness) but was sucked down the whirlpool, through the underwater alleys, and into the Alleyverse.

I haven’t named any of them yet though. That's the best part of having them all. Randomly your character can think about one of them and everyone else is confused. It also makes it so you can have all sorts of fun anecdotes come up.

Sherlock Holmes he/him Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 I just remembered something about my Dru character, so here is the third (fourth?) resubmission of her character sheet: Spoiler Name: Dru Sex: Female Age: Twenty-two Nationality: Completely Scadrian skaa Birthplace: Rural Duladen, Sel Family: Mother- Fawreth (deceased), Diona (adopted, deceased). Father- Charin. Siblings- none. Spouse- none. Children- none. Extended relations- unimportant. Appearance: Four feet eleven inches tall. Stocky build. Light skin. Round face. Jaw-length brown hair. Brown eyes. Investiture: Pewter Misting. Strengths: Experienced rock-climber. Powerful shoulder muscles. Very positive attitude about most things in general. Likes giving people hugs. Weaknesses: Falls in love easily. No combat experience. PTSD whenever she sees fire. Backstory: Dru was born in rural Duladen to her Scadrian Worldhopper mother, Fawreth, and father, Charin. She was raised by a kindly old woman, Diona, for fourteen years, then helped run the orphanage herself. After eighteen years, the orphanage was burned down when the Republic collapsed, killing many of the children and making Dru flee, though she did unknowingly manage to save several of the children after Snapping into her powers as a Pewterarm. She went to Arelon, and became interested in Elantris, hiking around the area for several weeks before finding an Elsecaller Worldhopper who had known her parents. The Worldhopper brought her to the Alleyplanet, then left her there after teaching her how to use her Allomancy, where she learned to rock climb with a class of teenagers in her free time, working as a part-time cook to buy a small flat. Life&Death Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 As the new Era starts, I will have new characters, but I will still use Mr Amber. Any objections if he fixes the Waystop and brings it back? I think having a tavern type area a vital in every plot.

MacThorstenson he/him Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 (edited) Here is my final character Bio for Mac: Spoiler Name: Mac Skills: Wicked Smart (40) Investiture: Voidmaking, about (70 points). Weakness: Mac faced down death, and realized that when it mattered most, he didn't care. When his soul was at stake, he gave up. He has nearly completely lost his original drive, and now really only is able to be driven and focus on things when given a task. He has a lot of insecurity, but is able to keep it pushed down so no one knows. However, it still affects him. Just like how believing you can win is an important step in winning, believing deep down that you don't have what it takes can be really harmful to your performance. He doesn't believe he has what it takes. Appearance: A black suit and tie with a bowler hat and Monocle. Occasionally he will change up the suit to be a different style. History: The entirety of the Alleyverse, and a bit more. There is a thread a while back called chronicles of the alleyverse that details his origin. Not to sure what to put here besides that. Personality: Loves pointy objects, power, and baked goods. The DA is a near ideal match. I am sorry for the weak bio @Archer. I don't know how to fill in his history section. Would it be alright if I change around his surplus points a lot? Nothing would be above 100 points for investiture. Edited January 28, 2019 by MacThorstenson

I'm not too concerned about it, since you've already done some extensive character development of him in E2. So long as you do it in a realistic and reasonable manner, I'm okay with that. I'll add the bio to the list.

Unfortunately, I believe that this character is OP for Era Three. I recommend reducing the amount of investiture they have, and increasing their number of weaknesses. Perhaps some code of honour could be included that restricts their ability to attack individuals who are not Voidus. You've got a good idea here, it just needs to be powered down a bit. 2
Snipexe he/him Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 (edited) Aww, I was hoping the fact that he is both a sentient pineapple, and that his sole goal is to kill Voidus would eliminate more points, which is why I made them so over powered. Version 2 should be radically different Version 2 Quote Character Submission: Name: Anti-Voidus Appearence: A pineapple, with black smoke coming out of it that has a citrus scent. Investiture: Type 4 Awakened Entity with the command destroy Voidus. This has enabled 3 things: 1. The ability to telepathically communicate 2. The command has warped over time to include destroying the influence of Voidus, meaning that any DA member or DA affliate will be vaporized if they make contact with him. 3. The command lets him roll around under his own power. Special Skills: Really good at running and hiding [+5S] Weaknesses: A sentient pineapple in a world with a free Voidus. Archer he/him Posted January 29, 2019 Author Posted January 29, 2019 This update looks significantly less OP. I think it's within the limits, but I'm going to call in a second opinion on this, just to be sure. (Also, I really want to see what his reaction is to this.) What do you think, @Voidus? 1

Voidus Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 New E3 character @Archer Spoiler Name: Metronome Gender: Male Investiture/Powers: Epic - Chronoperception, the ability to known exactly what time it is. (+5 ?) Appearance: A little under average height, somewhat portly man with well combed hair. Wears a waistcoat over a white shirt and with matching pants most of the time. Special Skills: Optimistic and grandiosity. (+10 ?) Equipment: A perfectly normal pocketwatch which he obsessively synchronizes. Psyche: Of relatively average intelligence, somewhat calmer than most Epics but with a grandiose sense of self-importance to match any High Epic with control over their own city. Metronome is aware that he is indeed the most powerful Epic that has ever been and will not neglect to mention this fact to anyone he meets. Backstory: Little is known of Metronome before Calamity struck but he was born in Salem, Oregon and has lived there for his entire life, gaining very little attention from anyone in anything he did. After he was given powers by Calamity he took hold over the city (Or as other people would say, he hung around the people who took over the city and they felt too much pity to correct him) and held a prestigious position, co-ruling it (Disputed) with an Epic known as Soulcaster. Events in the city had begun to spiral, leading to panic and chaos when suddenly Metronome found himself in the middle of a completely different city with no idea how he arrived there. Thus he set about his mission to take over the Alleycity as well and rule over it as he did in Salem. Guild: UnaffiliatedWeaknesses: Very likely to drastically underestimate his opponents no matter how much more powerful or skilled than him they may be. Also possesses an Epic weakness which is available upon request (But is unlikely to be relevant one way or the other) ***** Score: Depends who you ask but either infinite or possibly around 5 or less 5

We can't have this! I'm not even a part of the Reckoners RP, but even I know of the power that is Metronome! I know that bringing in an epic with this much power will surely result in our destruction. He will take over the city and universe in less than a week if we let him. He is even more powerful than Voidus! This Epic is the most powerful being in the multiverse. An epic of his magnitude would completely unbalance the RP. As always, I don't approve the characters, but my vote would be deny him. EDIT: Maybe if he had a better weakness, but no. Even if he were dead and his spiritual aspect destroyed, he could still take over the city, even the world. Edited January 29, 2019 by MacThorstenson 1
