Astral was tempted to wait for the CBSTians to open a bridge themselves, but she was sick of sitting here and doing nothing. Star was in trouble, her soul being shredded in the most vile way possible. And it was Astral's job to save her. There was no time to lose. Not anymore.

Sophie sat on a rock, contemplating her existence. She was using a crazy amount of energy on a forcefield around her, but it was worth it to avoid those withergeists. Her bite earlier had left her feeling cold. Very cold. She wasn’t sure if that was a direct after effect of being bitten or if her body was in shock or if she was sick or something. Author above, what did she do wrong? She hated plot. Hated it more than anything in the world. Why did she always get so wrapped up in it? There wasn’t any end to this. She couldn’t escape. It was a never-ending circle - last long enough and she’d end up like her eldest sister. But she was no hero or warrior. Instead of turning into a villain, she’d just… waste away and be torn apart by the plot. How did Xino stand it?

Xino. Shards, she hadn’t seen him in a long time. She hoped he was okay. He’d always turned up before and he was as old as Star was, so hopefully he knew what he was doing, but… These withergeists were dangerous. She’d almost died because of them. Almost… died.

Sophie sniffed. Looking back on it, she’d been through… a lot. She wasn’t the innocent little girl she once had been. TLT wasn’t near as innocent as it seemed, even compared to CBST. Here, anything could happen. There, at least things were coherent. From what she had read and felt and been told, it was peaceful there right now. Star was happy. It sounded like an impossibility, but… It was true. Someone was happy in the midst of plot and pain. She supposed, as she thought about it, one could get used to something like this eventually. Learn to deal with it. Even love it, the way Xino did. Could that ever be her? She didn’t think so.
